Relationships, whether dating or married, are hard work. Things do not always go perfectly, fighting does occur, and it takes a 100% commitment from both parties to make it a success. Often when people break off a relationship, they feel as though something is missing. The “spark” is gone, leaving one or both people feeling inadequate and unfulfilled.

There are hundreds of things you can do to better your relationship and rekindle that “spark” which had once grown to a full-blown flame but has now faded to a dying ember. To help you get started in the right direction, here are five ways to build, strengthen, enhance, relight the fire and rekindle the romance in your relationship.

Remember, little steps taken every day will add up to big success!

1. The Power of Touch

Playing with your mate’s hair, rubbing their hand, a soft kiss on the neck, a soft pat on the leg or giving a gentle back rub will make a huge difference in how your mate responds to you. Do not be surprised if you get a strange look of curiosity the first time. A simple, loving touch can pull a relationship through a crisis.

2. Don’t Be So Predictable

If asking couples the factors involved in the demise of their relationship, one the common responses is that everything in the relationship is so predictable. When rebuilding a relationship, do not be afraid of letting go of boredom. Take some chances and do the unexpected.

3. A Night of Passion

Intimacy and passion in relationships is not only important but also healthy. Couples need to enjoy being together in an intimate way. When relationships are troubled, the last thing either person wants is to be sexual or passionate with each other. This is an important part of the healing and rebuilding of the relationship and although it might be awkward in the beginning, it is crucial. Make your intimate time together special. Surprise your mate with a warm bubble bath, lighted candles, soft music, and a bottle of wine, or reserve a nice romantic evening at a local hotel to include a wonderful candlelit dinner, fine wine and a beautiful room.

4. Happy Birthday

As people grow older, in general, birthdays become less celebrated. Gifts are quickly given, if at all, meals eaten and it is over. For your mate’s next birthday, take some time to plan something very special. Make this a true celebration of their life as a way of showing your love and affection.

5. That Kiss

As couples become comfortable with each other, kisses can become lame. Get rid of the pecks and get serious with the kisses. You will find that as you pay attention to your kissing and let your mate know that you enjoy kissing them, you will both feel better about your relationship.

As you can see, relationships take work! However, with the right attitude, a lot of hard work, and some unique ideas on how to make it successful, couples can have a strong, lifelong relationship.

You Already Are Intuitive

Think back to a time when you had a hunch about something. That was intuition. It is nothing more than your mind using more than what you are consciously aware of. But how do you trust your intuition? How can you improve it and use it? First, understand what it is.

Gary Kasparov can play and beat the best chess computer. How is this possible when the computer can calculate positions many moves further ahead than he can. It is because of his intuitive grasp of the game. Experience allows him to combine analysis with a “sense” of which move is best.

Intuition also works as a warning device. My wife and I both felt we shoudn’t get on that bus in Cuenca, Ecuador. Psychic? Not at all. We knew crowded busses were prime locations for pickpockets. We saw the drunk man bumping into people. We didn’t think about these things consciously, but they registered in our minds, and warned us. Unfortunately, we ignored our intuition, and I was robbed.

Of course, a strong hunch can be for irrelevant reasons too. If you were hit by a blue taxi as a child, you might have “intuitive” hunches not to get into blue taxis for the rest of your life. So how do you know when to trust your intuition?

Watch And Question Your Intuition

Start by watching it and questioning it. If I had asked myself why I felt bad about that bus, it may have occurred to me, “Oh yeah, crowded busses are a bad idea. I know that.” If your look at your strong feeling about that taxi, you might say, “Oh, it’s just my fear of blue taxis.” Get in the habit of paying attention to your intuitive feelings.

In which areas does your intuition work best? Are you always right about your intuitive stock picks? If so, give a little credence to them. If your hunches about people are always wrong, don’t follow them. Just pay attention more, and you’ll develope an intuition about your intuition.

Recognise that your skill, knowledge and experience determine the potential effectiveness of your intuition. A weak chess player will never intuitively beat that computer. So learn enough about a subject, before you expect any good hunches about it - or before you trust the hunches. Remember the programmer’s maxim: garbage in - garbage out. When enough information is in your mind, it will go to work for you with or without your conscious participation, so feed it well.

Watch for your intuition and you’ll have hunches and ideas more often. I bought a conversion van, and now I see them all over. Have you had a similar experience? The same process will happen if you watch for your intuition - you’ll start to see more of it.

Develope Your Intuition In Three Steps

1. Look for it to encourage it.

2. Watch it to make it more trustworthy.

3. Give it good information to work with.

Do these simple things, and you’ll have better intuition more often. Doesn’t your intuition tell you this is true? It will.

Once there was a sage, who was highly respected by everyone, living by the side of a big river, where he had a small hut. He had a devotee, a lady, who would come everyday , wash his clothes and keep his hut clean.
She was on the other side of the river and had to come by boat everyday.
One day, the lady was late and the sage enquired the reason for the delay. The lady replied that she was waiting for the boat and was delayed. The sage, with a smile, said that there was no need for a boat to cross the river. With total faith in God, chanting his name, one could cross the river walking over the surface. The lady , with all humiliy, accepted his advice and returned to her village.

It was raining heavily, the subsequent night, and the river was in spate with swirling waters ,next day, which was a terrific sight. No one ventured out into the river, even by boat, but the lady arrived at the exact time. The learned sage was really surprised and asked the lady as to how she could come across the river when there was no boat! The lady replied, without any qualms, that she walked over the surface of the water as per his advice. Now, the sage was shocked with surprise. How correct was his advice, that chanting the name of God one could cross the river, walking across ? If the lady could accomplish this feat, why not the sage himself?
He prepared himself for a walk over the rushing flood waters . He ordered one of his desciples to tie a rope around his waist and hold the other end of the rope and advised him to pull the sage out of the water, in case he went under. After all safety arrangements, the sage, chanting the name of God, set his foot on the river, only to go under the water. He was immediately rescued and pulled out of the water. Now , the sage asked the lady to walk over the water, and she readily complied with his orders.
She was able to walk over the water!!

This is a small story from Ramakrishna’s fables. Total faith, without logical analysis and doubts, helped the lady in accomplishing the feat, while the sage could not do it himself, despite his preachings.

In my part of the country, in some of the Hindu temples, there is a ritual, where devotees walk across burning fire of coal and wood., with bare feet. I have witnessed this myself, lot of times, and the devotees were some of my friends also. But I could never gather the courage of venturing out to do such things. Ultimately, they have gained nothing and I have also lost nothing by walking over fire. But, I wonder whether the mind is conditioned to believe that this feat is possible ? It must be, otherwise with all my doubts and logical approach, I was not able to do it, while my friends could do it.

We come back to the same topic again ! Mind is powerful to accomplish anything, and we must learn to use it for good purposes. The greatest hurdles, of course, are our doubts , inconsistency , lack of faith and concentration. There are numerous incidents, all over the globe, which defy our scientific analysis !

I am an Aquarian and am naturally interested in knowing ‘ out of world’ activities, which certainly does not include harmful things. I am very afraid of them, though I instinctively know that they exist ! All that I am interested is in sharing my view points with my friends visiting this blog, and invite their opinions over the same. I shall quote all my experiences and incidents and would be happy to know their experiences to strengthen the view point on this topic.

Meet you again,

July 24, 2008: 4:28 pm: adminThe Technology Way

I would like to share with you a poem which has been with me for over a decade. It was conceived in Marrakesh on a trip to the airport from the old city. The moon was huge and orange and on its way behind the Medina wall. I was in a rattling old taxi sitting behind its hooded Arab driver. It felt as if time had slipped and we were between moments and the universe, with all its strange secrets, was about to whisper answers in my ear.

When the moon carries
earths shadow on its back
beyond our sight

Angels leave the points of light
we call stars

and discuss the nights dreams
whispering the workings of man.

Gently they offer us heavens sleeve
and lead us through
what is to
become our past.

I didn’t write the poem until a decade later but the image and the feeling are as fresh today as they were in Marakesh. I remember thinking that if the hooded Arab man (the morning was cold)had turned toward me I would have been able to look through his face into the countries past and glimpse in an instant the trials and tests we all face. It was a moment without time and one which changed me.

The single most important quality you can ever develop that will enhance every part of your life, is the value of integrity. Integrity is the core quality of a successful and happy life. Having integrity means being totally honest and truthful in every part of your life. By making the commitment to become a totally honest person, you will be doing more to ensure your success and happiness in life than anything else you can ever do.

Integrity is a value, like persistence, courage, and intelligence. It is your choice of values and resolution to live by those values that form your character and personality. And it is integrity that enhances all your other values. The quality of person you are is determined by how well you live up to the values that are most important to you. Integrity is the quality that locks in your values and causes you to live consistent with them.

Integrity is the foundation of character. A person who has integrity also has an unblemished character in every area of his or her life. One of the most important activities you can engage in, is developing your character. And one of the best ways to develop your character is by consistently doing the same things that a thoroughly honest person would do in every area of his or her life.

To be totally honest with others, you first have to be totally honest with yourself. You have to be true to yourself. You have to be true to the very best that is in you. Only a person who is consistently living a life with the highest values and virtues is a person truly living a life of integrity. If you are always honest and true to yourself you cannot be false to anyone else.

The mark of people who have high integrity is, they always do the highest quality of work in everything they do. They are the people who are always totally honest with themselves in everything they do, and strive to excellent work on every occassion. People with high integrity realize that everything they do is a statement about who they are as a person.

The Universal Law of Attraction says that you inevitably attract into your life the people and circumstances that are in harmony with your dominant thoughts and values. This means that everything in your life you have attracted, because of the person you are. If there is anything in your life, your relationships, or your work that you are not happy with, you need to begin changing the person you are, so that you stop attracting those people and situations into your life.

Your integrity is manifested in your willingness to adhere to the values that are most important to your. It’s easy to make promises but often very hard to keep them. But every time you keep a promise that you’ve made, it is an act of integrity, which in turn strengthens your character. As you act with integrity in everything you do, you will find that every part of your life will improve. You will begin to attract the best people and situations into your life. You will become an outstanding person as well as a success in everything you do.

One who speaks a lie hurts. Only truth gives life and peace. A lie always hurts. Even the smallest lie hurts. It hurts one to whom the lie has been spoken, and surely the person who speaks the lie. In today’s world lies are taken as way of life. Those who speak lies, bury morality so deep down somewhere, that no one can find it. These people with black hearts speak lies and sometimes they lie to the extent that it kills one who believes them.

Speaking a lie is betraying trust. To speak a falsehood to one who believes that truth is being spoken, is sinful. Society may not punish liars, but there is the law of karma, that punishes the liar. But what of the pain that a liar gives to one who trusted her/him?

Lies come in many types. Let us first try to find out about what kinds of liars are there on this earth. The first type is a small liar. A poor person, who speaks lies to survive in this brutal world. On the other end, we have liars who rule the nations. For their own power, they invent all kinds of lies and mislead people to believe the untruth.

The worst liars are those who lie to someone who has total trust in her/him. A child always takes the word of mother or father as the truth. The child has total trust in the words and takes them as the gospel truth. But as the child grows up, he/she realizes that his/her parent speak lies whenever they find it convenient. The child gets trained at this stage of life. Though the child learns about speaking truth in the text books, what he/she finds in the reality of role models, is different. And that reality is followed. This habit of speaking lies perpetuates in this fashion.

One more type of liar is the lover. Love depends on trust and nothing but total trust. When a lover speaks lies, that not only breaks the trust, but it also kills the hearts. It kills the man/woman to whom the lie is spoken. These lovers are smooth liars. They think that by speaking lies they will save the love, but they manage to destroy not only the love, but also their beloved. They poison the life of their beloved with lies and are nothing short of murderers and killers.

As I said before, society may not punish such liars, because society is not concerned with the depth of such relationships. But what of Karma, as the Indian philosophy calls it? That leaves no one. Only the law of karma gives the punishment to the liar. The liar gets punished by the law of karma. Who will save the person who trusted the liar? Only the mercy of God can save such a battered person.

What seems to be one way can turn out to be quite the opposite. Whatever you decide, someone else will disagree, and whatever view or posture is taken, there is an opposing one which will readily be taken up by another, insisting just as much as you that they are right and following a line of truth and accuracy.
“Prove it!” say the Scientists. “Convince me!” Says the Sceptic. “I don’t see it that way at all”, cry the Cynic and the debater.

A small child tells his first lie and gets away with it, creating his first effective illusion. By accurately representing something to be other than the way it is, he has made the discovery of illusion or lying. A whole new world has opened up before him. No longer he feels, does he need the old skills to explain, justify and convince honestly, he can create an illusion or lie instead. As time goes by he becomes more adept and sophisticated in his skills and his parents have to counter his illusions with an increasingly firm grasp on their own realities and perceptiveness.

An adult rebukes and exposes an untruth of another’s whilst firmly maintaining his own illusions in place… Politicians engage each other and the electorate in “Find me out if you can”, whilst perpetuating their own daily public illusions as the nation slowly disintegrates in a truth-less vacuum of public relations and tabloid guessing-game of “What’s going on?”

Lie versus lie. Trickery versus trickery. Illusion versus illusion. Simply put, lying is a deception, an alteration of time, place, form or event. A statement that something is different from the way it actually is. And we are all just too susceptible. Susceptible to lies, illusions and misrepresentations.

ILLUSION AND INNUMERACY

Crime is by far the greatest victim of innumeracy and misrepresentation. Surveys show that the public believes crime in Britain to be far worse than it actually is. Media publicity - especially “terror” clips such as are shown on ITV’s Crimestoppers - heightens fear and leads old people and women to alter their lives. Unable to grasp the significance of an incident, they assume the worst and retreat into fortress self.
The terrorist knows this well. He has long seen the media as his great ally in playing on irrational fears. Two bombs in quick succession constitute a “new offensive”. By being publicised, set alongside other similar crimes and credited with a “conspiracy”, this erects an edifice of horror in the public’s mind. Journeys are cancelled, jobs lost, chaos induced.

In Britain, deaths per head of the population from accidents and violence have steadily fallen in the last half of the century. Fear should, statistically, be falling too. It is not. The greatest risk of violence facing British adults is not from strangers, the IRA, or acts for God, but from those two familiars, the car and the spouse. The latter, “the loved one”, is specially lethal. The kitchen is the favourite venue for assault, knives and crockery being readily to hand. But we are not sufficiently aware of these facts to allow them to affect our lives. They are banal. We even pretend not to believe them.

FEAR

The Aids researcher exploits fear of unsafe sex to get more money for research. The police exploit fear of dark streets to boost manpower and pay. The terrorists know that another bomb creates fear and makes people fed up with government inability. Each wants our money or our support. A toothpaste is said to yield “200% fewer cavities”. A politician “Will not rest until the majority of our children are above average attainment”.
A story in Today declares “The number of women murdered by the men in their lives has jumped from a third to almost a half”.
Each relies on our inability to set the fear in a statistical framework.

An academic works out that the risk of a bomb on his plane is small but the risk of two bombs is infinitesimal: so he always carries a bomb with him in his case.

Television and films perpetuate the idea that any woman worthy of the name is five feet eight inches tall, slim, blonde with a perfect body and able to achieve full and multiple orgasms at will, anytime, anywhere, with anyone. With regard to the latter at least, surveys prove this is not the case with over 75% of women. Yet teenage girls are drawn in to the myth with resultant high stress levels.

INABILITY

Innumeracy can be maddeningly wasteful. Credit cards need no more than nine numbers in sequence, or even better, six letters (26 to the power of six is over 300 million). Most have an infuriating 15 or more.

We may laugh about damned lies and statistics - but somehow the statistics live on when the laughter has died.

We seem unable to master simple concepts of number, but how devastating is the impact of this failure on our ordinary lives.
Bluntly, we cannot count. A disability as serious as illiteracy, becomes, curiously, a matter of shame. Illiteracy we conceal.

If we cannot read or spell or quote the novels of Jane Austen and Dickens we keep a decent silence. But publicly boast of our innumeracy with pride. “I was hopeless at maths … no good asking me about fractions …. can barely count to 10, ha ha”.
Like primitive (and not-so-primitive) humans, we seek coincidence and parallels where none exist. We seem to need the reassurance of pseudo-sciences, of astrology, “analysis”, ley lines and tarot cards, to explain the odd or distressing.
We abuse mathematics itself with dotty numerology.

But what most concerns is our ignorance of probability theory, our inability to handle proportion and risk. We lose our capacity for judgment. We cannot filter information gained from newspapers and broadcasting and set it in context. Since rarity leads to publicity, rare events come to seem commonplace. We want to be diverted, excited, shocked. Some of us may read quality newspapers, but we all have tabloid minds.

DISTORTION

This leads to grotesque distortion in our response to events. Forty dead on the roads is not news. Forty dead on a boat is a public scandal and the government must act.

Smoking-related deaths in America are now the equivalent of three loaded jumbo jets crashing every day. The one statistic bores us, the other would appall us. (Much the same is true of drunken driving in Britain).

One famous aids death is splashed across the papers; stars appear on stage appealing for funds. Alzheimer’s disease or kidney failure blight the lives of far more people. In my view they are more deserving of charitable support. Sadly, they are less rare, less exotic, and have nothing to do with sex.

Only an innumerate could seriously believe that America’s Strategic Defence Initiative would ever do what television cartoons show it doing.

A true numerate would dispense with long-range weather prediction, lie-detector tests, Treasury Inflation forecasts and lotteries. The chances of error are too great, or the odds far too long. A numerate would also keep lawyers away from accident inquiries. Lawyers are trained to judge absolutes, guilt and innocence, rather than the subtle gradations of risk familiar to managers struggling with day-to-day problems.

The “rampant silliness” of pseudo science, the abuse of logic and the lack of clear thinking on political priorities are abundant.

We do not need more facts, but a better ability to grasp the ones we have.
