Before you open your swimming pool for the season, or if
you are thinking of having a pool installed, you should
review the basic safety procedures. Even if you have had
that pool for a number of years, your family should review
the procedures to make sure that children don’t become
victims of a water tragedy. Especially where children are
concerned, it only takes a moment for something to go wrong
and for tragedy to strike. Often this will happen when
those who are designated to supervise the children at the
pool become lax in their duties. People who get too used to
pools will often forget about the dangers involved.

Each year, many children lose their lives because they are
left alone near a swimming pool. Even children older than
toddlers should not be left alone. Resist your first
impluse to respond to the summons if your phone rings or
someone knocks at the door. Nothing is more important
than the safety of your children. If you leave them alone,
even if only for a moment, at the side of the pool to
attend to some other matter, you are endangering their
lives. There should be no choide at all about which
is the more important to attend to.

If receiving phone calls is important to you during the
time that you’re by the pool with the kids, then have a
phone installed near the pool or bring a portable phone
along. In the case of someone coming to the door or calling
you from some other point around your home, such as over
the hedge, from the driveway or around the front of the
house, all you have to do is call for them to join you by
the pool. There’s no need to leave the pool unless there’s
an emergency, and, even then, the children should be
taken out of the pool and either brought along as you step
away, or left with another adult.

A swimming pool should always be separated from the house
by a fence, and some towns are now even making that a law.
The fence needs to be at least 4 feet in height and must
enclose the entire pool area. Too many tragedies have
occurred when toddlers wander away from the house and
fall into the pool. To prevent this, the gate to the pool
must be self-closing and the self-latching system must be
beyond the reach of young children. You should also have
proper rescue equipment , such as a life preserver and a
hooked tool that will aid in retrieval.

Do not allow children to use toys as life preservers. When
they are in the pool, they should wear approved life vests
rather than pool toys or safety gear. These are made of
thin plastic that can puncture easily and put the child’s
life in jeopardy. Even if you are watching, they could
drown before emergency help can arrive. Distance can
be very important, and the general rule is to always stay
within an arm’s length of children in or near the pool.
Another wise rule to follow is never to leave toys in the
pool once the children have left. Too often, they are
tempted to retrieve them and will end up falling into the
water when you are no longer watching.

Unless they are able to perform CPR, you should not give
anyone the responsiblity of supervising your children in a
pool. Classes are given at schools and community
organizations before the beginning of the swimming season,
and anyone who is interested can find a class. Take one of
these classes yourself and have everyone who will watch
your children do the same. Put your safety procedures in
place, and you can relax and enjoy a safe, fun summer.

Following are some quotes and dialogues that reflect the principles of superultramodern science ( physics, mathematical science, and philosophy ). (The creation of Dr Kedar Joshi (b.1979), Cambridge, UK)

The 21st Century Intellectual Battlefield
(The battle is fierce, prolong, essential, and inevitable.)

‘Philosophy is written in this grand book - I mean the universe - which stands continually open to our gaze, but it cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language and interpret the characters in which it is written. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures, without which it is humanly impossible to understand a single word of it.’
- Galileo Galilei

In reality the universe has no geometry.
- Kedar Joshi

Is the Universe a computer ?
- John Barrow

Yes, the universe is a gigantic non - spatial computer, free of all spatial constraints ( e.g. time to fetch data from memory, limited memory, possible faults in hardware and / or software ). The spatial world is a virtual reality, a mere illusion to non - spatial observer/s. The universal computer hardware is composed of non - spatial mental events. The universal software is a group of non - spatial computer programs. The laws of physics, being logically unnecessary, are changeable rules in the universal computational programs. The NSTP ( Non - Spatial Thinking Process ) theory is the abstract mathematical description of this universal computer. In other words, NSTP is a computer theory of the universe. And the ultimate triumph of human achievement is to be able to manipulate the universal non - spatial software in order to obtain maximum benefit. Though the road to such triumph is not yet clear, its beginning is set out in the ‘Superultramodern Principia’.
- Kedar Joshi

All the theoretical physicists today are being deceived by the smart non - spatial computational processes that create the spatial virtual reality. The non - spatial universal software knows general relativity, for example, and produces appearances, that confirm with the scientific experimental observations, as if the general relativity is true.

Virtually all of the ideas in modern physics are severely incomplete on their physical ( or ontological ) side, e.g. general relativity. Some of them are ( likely to be ) wrong in any sense, e.g. the particle theories’ explanation of the force of attraction, the concept of graviton, or the string theories. So unless and until revolutionised on a grand scale modern physics can never reach the zenith : realising the theory of everything.

Most of the pure mathematics today is not worthy of being hailed as ‘pure’ ( or genuine ). In fact, it is applied ( or fuzzy ), something whose existence is mere for the sake of convenience with no intrinsic meaning at all. And sometimes this meaninglessness causes severe inconvenience ( e.g. the Poincare conjecture ).

To sum up, at present, theoretical physics and pure mathematics are less theoretical ( or pure or conceptual ) and more practical. They are notoriously indifferent of the semantic content and conceptual validity of their models. This indifference is leading them to wrong directions. If they wish to get on the right track, if they desire to succeed, and if they ever seek the holy grail, they must open their doors for a new brighter light to come in. Opening the doors is a revolutionary act, a paradigm shift, which Superultramodern science endeavours to achieve in the 21st century.
- Kedar Joshi

‘When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute. But let him sit on a hot stove for a minute and it’s longer than any hour. That’s relativity.’
- Albert Einstein

In the former situation the man undergoes states of consciousness that make him feel an hour like a minute, while in the later situation he undergoes states of consciousness that make him feel a minute longer than any hour. And that’s how relativity works.
- Kedar Joshi

‘I now believe that time does not exist at all, and that motion itself is pure illusion. What is more, I believe there is quite strong support in physics for this view. ‘
- Julian Barbour (The end of time, 2000)

You come to believe in space and time as forms of illusion; I tell you how the illusion is worked out through non-spatial mechanics, which is described in the NSTP theory. This vision shall change the face of science in the early 21st century.
- Kedar Joshi

‘Physics must be recast on a new foundation in which change is the measure of time, not time the measure of change.’
- Julian Barbour (The end of time, 2000)

Yes, absolutely. As time exists only as an experience of change, where the experience itself is nothing but some non-spatial feeling, it is the experience of change that is fundamental, not time.
- Kedar Joshi

What are space and time ?

Space and time have two kinds of existence, which I state in the decreasing order of certainty. 1) They are experiences existing in the form of non-spatial feelings. 2) They are superhuman ideas also existing in the form of non-spatial feelings. Space and time are forms of illusion to non-spatial observer/s.

Space and time are both absolute and relative. As superhuman ideas they are absolute (as they are pure ideas independent of any experience), while as experiences they are relative (as there could be infinitely many possible experiences of space and time).
- Kedar Joshi

Time Machine and The NSTP Theory -
Getting into the past is the same as having exactly the same experiences as those had in the past. And for doing this one has to modulate the universal non-spatial superhuman thoughts/program/software, a kind of non-spatial time machine.
- K.J.

The Joshian / Superultramodern conjecture of space -
Space is three and only three dimensional. ( Considering the NSTP theory there is no evidence whatsoever that space has more than three spatial dimensions.)
- K. Joshi

All meaningful theories speak about reality, and thus are verifiable / falsifiable. However, they may not be verifiable / falsifiable at present due to limited human knowledge, powers, and, in general, progress. ( It is possible that they are forever unverifiable / unfalsifiable for humans. ) And this human inability does not at all mean that such theories are unscientific or absurd.
- Kedar Joshi

I think that modern physics has definitely decided in favour of Plato. In fact the smallest units of matter are not physical objects in the ordinary sense; they are forms, ideas which can expressed unambiguously only in mathematical language.
- Werner Heisenberg

The smallest units of matter are indeed ideas existing in the form of non - spatial feelings, the ideas that are inferior to the Platonic realm of eternal mathematical truths and ideas, which exist in some unknown physical form.
- Kedar Joshi

‘The theme running through the tour through the principles of physics is that progress has often consisted in uncovering “hidden unities”.’

- John C. Taylor, Hidden Unity in Nature’s Laws
Professor emeritus of mathematical physics
Cambridge University

All ( mysterious ) natural phenomena are aspects of the principle that space is a form of illusion to non - spatial mind, which is governed by super - non - spatial mind. This principle, captured in the NSTP theory, represents the greatest hidden unity in nature’s laws known to mankind.
- Kedar Joshi

There is no better, there is no more open door by which you can enter into the study of natural philosophy, than by considering the physical phenomena of a candle.
- Michael Faraday

There is no better, there is no more open door by which you can enter into the study of natural philosophy, than by considering the physical phenomena of consciousness ( i.e. feelings ), specifically consciousness of a candle.
- Kedar Joshi

More significant mathematical work has been done in the latter half of this century than in all previous centuries combined.
- John Casti, Five Golden Rules, 1996

The mathematical proposition that ‘feeling/s are conceptually distinct from their bodily counterpart/s and that no spatial structure can be a representation of feeling/s’ is more significant than all the previous ones combined. And it forms the road to the fundamental understanding of the universe.
- Kedar Joshi

Crafts have always been a great way to spend some time with your kids and others. If you teach a Sunday school class, or a 4H group, you’re constantly on the lookout for fun and easy crafts. No matter the ages of the children you’re working with, this is a great time to teaching sharing, tolerance, encouragement, appreciation of others work, pride in your own work and much more. Use the time to enjoy each other. Don’t expect perfection. Stress enjoyment and putting forth your best effort. When you’re done, share your crafts with others.

Kiss me, Blarney Stone Critter
3-6 inch long smooth stone (washed)
Green paint
Assorted other colors of paint

Glitter, eyes, scraps of lace, pipe cleaners etc.
Glue
Newspaper

Place newspaper on table. I use old adult t-shirts as cover-ups for the kids. Paint stones green. Allow to dry. Decorate with paints and assorted scraps of lace, fabric, glitter and whatever else your imagination dreams up. This allows a lot of room for different ages, abilities and creative styles. Now you have crafted your own personal Blarney Stone.

Easy Shamrock Necklace Craft
Heart cookie cutter (or plastic glass to trace)
Heavy poster board in green or white
Yarn or heavy string
Glue
Scissors

Pencils
Glitter, paint, markers etc. for decorating

Use the cookie cutter to make a pattern for your shamrock. Make sure you overlap the ends of each leaf, not leaving the center of the shamrock too thin. Don’t forget to add the stem, making it thick also. For young children, it helps to make a ‘template’ they can trace and cut out. Some children can make the shamrock design themselves. If you’re working with very young children, it helps to have the shamrocks already cut out. Next, punch a hole in the top of the shamrock. Now use glitter, paint, markers and whatever else you have available to decorate your necklace. If you’ve used glue, allow time for them to dry. Finally cut yarn (or string) and pull through hole in top. Tie and slip your shamrock necklace on.

Extra: If your children are older, you can use your shamrock template to make cutout cookies. Trace around the template with a knife. Add green sprinkles and bake according to the recipe. Now share your shamrock cookies.

St Patrick’s Day Puzzle
Picture with Irish theme
Poster Board
Glue (or spray glue)
Scissors
Pen or marker

Glue picture to poster board. Take care to smooth out all air bubbles, and to have the whole picture glued down. Allow glue to dry. Use the marker to make lines for the puzzle pieces on the back of the poster board. Carefully cut out on the lines. For younger children make fewer pieces. For older children make smaller pieces. For extra fun, have the children make each others puzzles.

Variation: Have the children drawn their own picture to use for the puzzle, or color a picture from a coloring book. Remember, St Patrick is said to have driven all the snakes out of Ireland. Snakes, people in long capes, wooden staffs. What could be more fun for kids to draw?

Tray is a hero among his peers. Tray has fathered nine children from nine different women at his high school. Instead of his behavior repelling other young ladies, Tray finds himself a babe magnet. Tray sees himself as a great father. While students see Tray as an American icon, adults see Tray’s attitude as both arrogant and embarrassing. Tray, however, thinks he’s a “real man.”

Introduction

How do we define the nature of a man in America? A culture war exists between two generation, one generation armed with its traditional values and another generation with an “anything goes” mentality. Some would advocate that men are now irrelevant because today’s women are self-significant. I heard one lady say that her baby’s daddy had never seen his sons in years. She explained that this man was simply a sperm donator. There are numerous cases to point at the lethargic ways of some men. On the contrary, all men are not sperm donates.

Many are determining their significance in today’s family structure. According to the 2005 Census Report, there are 66.3 million fathers in the United States. There are 26.5 million fathers in a traditional family environment (married couple with children under the age of 18). There are 2.3 million single fathers living with children under 18 years old, up from 393,000 in 1970. There are also approximately 98,000 stay-at-home dads in America. Unfortunately, everything is not a pleasure story. There are 4.6 million fathers who pay child support, representing 84 percent of child support providers.

The Real Story

Fathers in traditional families are more involved than several decades ago. According to some studies, members of Generation X and Y are more likely to be family-focused. For example, Generation X fathers spent more than an hour per day with children compared to Baby Boomer fathers. The impacts of the male influence in families may not be obvious. Does it really matter if a male is not a part of a child’s life? Many people grew-up with fathers whose primary role was as provider. The presence of a male figure in the home does impact children.

Nationally syndicated columnist Leonard Pitts, Jr. wrote a book, Becoming Dad, where he surveys his tortured relationship with his abusive father. Pitts discusses how it affected his relationship with his own sons and daughters. He writes, “My father made our lives hell. And yet, for all of that, he was one thing many other fathers were not: He was there. Obviously, fathers are imperfect and this has been amplified in our society.

Future Outlook

I find finds postmodern culture fueling this negativism. Obviously, we are being bombarded with negative concepts of fathers. We do not live in an era of “Leave It to Beaver” where dad knows best, and we have a caricature of Superman. My experience, however, is that many fathers of our era are trying to do the right things; however, it gets lost in the day-to-day drama of life. Fathers are necessary to achieve a healthy family balance even though they are not celebrated as such.

Clearly, there are ample examples of deadbeat dads, abusers, and downright losers. But, if society buys into the notion that fathers are useless, how do we give our children a sense of Hope for the future? We must showcase the positive things fathers are doing in the community while counseling the misguided ones. America cannot survive without real fathers and real men.

To raise funds for your non profit, you may have to think
farther than just relying on ordinary fundraising activities
like raffles and selling campaigns. There are several secrets to
your fundraising campaigns, which are not available anywhere in
many of the books and online resources.

1. Real-time Advertising: This is a surefire method that can
project your fundraising idea to potential donors. You can
advertise your non profit over internet, radio, print media and
television. 2. Letters: Well written and professional letters
will carry your ideas across to those donors in beautiful words.
You will need to include plenty of evidences and supporting
materials like annexure, pictures and tables. 3. Internet
Communication: It is quicker to communicate through internet.
Also you can direct your donors to glance through your website.
4. Telephone: The oldest method of communication apart from
letters. Though it is very difficult to project your image
across the telephone line, it can still be used to your
advantage. 5. Mutual Dialogues: Face to face conversations bring
instant and quick results. You’ll need to learn the tricks of
personal communication to be able to project your idea. 6. Grant
Proposals: These are very formal in nature and possibly the most
efficient method of projecting your fundraising ideas. You may
also need to be thoroughly professional in writing a scientific
project proposal. 7. Referrals: If you have good contact, which
can carry across your messages and ideas, you have probably hit
a goldmine. Unsolicited and non-referred proposals do not really
carry much weight with donors.

These are some of the most common ways by which you can create
fundraising opportunities. This not all, there is more to it! I
have several other innovative secrets in my book. Here are some
of them:

1. Project fairs and notifications by corporate giving bodies
are possibly most viable ways of projecting your ideas. 2.
Seeking donations and funds from NGO’s like Rotary International
and Lions also work to your advantage.

These practical ways did prove very beneficial to us, during our
fundraising exercises and to our pleasant surprise, we could
discover their magical properties, only after we started
collecting some meaningful non profit funds.

Microsoft Office program is a programming tool called Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) that comes with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Publisher. VBA can make your repeating jobs automatic. It also can customize Excel, Word and other Office procedures for your own needs. From Office version 2000, all the Office programs are equipped with VBA.

Hand-On experience is the key to be a good programmer. Programming tutorials are the easier way to learn any computer programs including VBA. For example, a tutorial can show people how to use VBA to automate (make automatic) an Excel routine like updating the fonts and sizes for a range of cells, or automatically pops up a calendar for selecting a date. VBA can also be used as a tool to automate Word mail-merge or create a text file from a Word document. VBA can even be used as a tool to automate email alert in the Outlook Inbox or scheduling task to do.

VBA can make one application like Excel work with another application like Word and Outlook, or any other combination. To make Excel work or control Word is called Excel automates Word. Likewise, Word works with or controls Outlook is called Word automates Outlook.

There can be many applications of automation that was introduced in the previous paragraph. For example, we can write a VBA application to make Word read an Excel address list that is saved in a spreadsheet, and then show the addresses in the Word document. Also, we can write an application to use Word to automate Outlook for reading the contact and any other data in the Contact or other folders. Or, we can use Outlook to read in Word or Excel scheduling list and use it to schedule tasks in Outlook.

Writing VBA programs is quite straightforward and can be learned in a short period, providing that there are tutorials that are well organized and illustrated with many pictures. After going through a few tutorials, the learner can explore on himself or herself the other possibilities with the programming. Learning programming is not as hard as people think. Rather it can be a fun experience to see the programs work.

There are a few free VBA learning tutorials at www.Viccompinc.com. If you would like to learn beyond the free tutorials, you can sponsor us with the other low cost tutorials. You can also request a tutorial for your own needs with the request entry of the Contact page.

See how Viccomp’s tutorials can show you how to write your first Office program ==> http://www.viccompinc.com.
