Short for organic light-emitting diode, a display device that sandwiches carbon-based films between two charged electrodes, one a metallic cathode and one a transparent anode, usually being glass.

The organic films consist of a hole-injection layer, a hole-transport layer, an emissive layer and an electron-transport layer. When voltage is applied to the OLED cell, the injected positive and negative charges recombine in the emissive layer and create electro luminescent light. Unlike LCDs, which require backlighting, OLED displays are emissive devices - they emit light rather than modulate transmitted or reflected light.

OLED technology was invented by Eastman Kodak in the early 1980s. It is beginning to replace LCD technology in handheld devices such as PDAs and cellular phones because the technology is brighter, thinner, faster and lighter than LCDs, use less power, offer higher contrast and are cheaper to manufacture. An important step in the evolutionary process began with the use of thin-film organic layers. The first EL thin-film device used a single organic layer sandwiched between two injecting electrodes.

OLEDs are the latest and most promising buzzwords in display technology. To give you an idea of their potential, imagine a cardboard-thin TV screen. Now imagine that you can roll up your TV, put it away or carry it wherever you go. Automatically, you start appreciating why millions, if not billions, of dollars are being poured into OLED research every year.

How would you like to learn two simple techniques that can
vastly improve your life?

If I told you that it is possible to significantly relieve
yourself of anxiety, worry and stress as well as bad habits in a
very short time, would you take the time to learn these two
simple procedures?

You may be more interested if I told you it had help me
personally and I have witnessed the proof. I was taking 5 blood
pressure pills daily. Anxiety and stress were an everyday
battle. There seemed to be no hope.

Well now I take only one BP pill daily. I am feeling so much
better both physically, mentally and emotionally. I have been
utilizing these two tools about 7 months now.

The first technique that I studied after doing much research is
called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). All the relevant
information you need to understand EFT is free. There are some
improvement eBooks that you can purchase if you desire but this
is not required.

So what is EFT?

EFT is a psychological version of acupuncture that is so simple
to do that you can learn to do it in less than 30 minutes.
Emotional Freedom Technique is not painful at all. There are no
needles incorporated. You basically tap with your fingers on key
meridian points while saying some simple phrases.

EFT is based on traditional Chinese medicine’s energy system,
the same system which acupuncture is based. When you tap on the
meridian points you are unblocking energy fields throughout your
body. These barriers could have been causing health issues for
some time.

The powerful effectiveness of EFT depends on the problem
involved and the number of difficulties you are dealing with.
The more complex issues may eventually need repeated sessions.
Believe me it is well worth the minor amount of time for a
constant relief of these significant problems.

Here are some examples of how you can benefit from EFT.

Anxiety Stress Bad habits Fears Physical pain
Cravings Depression Anger High blood pressure Panic
attacks

You can include just about anything else to this list. EFT is so
simple to utilize yet can return tremendous results.

The second procedure is called Z-Point.

Z-point is also a very simple process which in addition can give
great results.

With Z-point you merely say phrases out loud or to yourself.
Z-point will help you release negative emotions and make
improvements to you with positive affirmations.

Like EFT with Z-point you can start off simple and add to the
process as you learn. In fact Z-point one-page instruction sheet
will adequately guide you though the one time installation
process and shows you the daily phrases to read each day.

You will clear all the negative ways, patterns and emotions that
have piled up throughout the years. I’m convinced that you will
see results if you continue to utilize these tools.

So don’t put it off. Start today! Put these two fantastic tools
to work for you right now. Just think you won’t have to invest
anything to learn how to improve yourself except a little time.

Did you know 80% of potential relationships end after the first
date? So what must you do to avoid using the patterns which will
lead you to a certain failure?

The first date, especially after a long online dating period can
be a very nervous experience and high expectations of building a
relationship may put a lot of pressure on you. So what must you
do to ease the anxiety? What must you do to take your chances to
a second date?:

- Choose a place where you can be able to make an uninterrupted
conversation with your date. Never take your date to the movies
as you can’t start to get to know your date, neither can he/she.

- Be at this place on time. Not earlier or later.

- Look your best, be presentable and comfortable. Wear clothes
that make you feel good. Buying new clothes is a good idea but
if you dont have the time, be sure that they are clean and tidy.
- Do not try to be more or different than yourself, always be
yourself.

- Make your date comfortable. Find something nice about your
date, make a compliment and leave it there. Do not
overcompliment.

- Be creative, funny and flirting. Putting a smile on your
dates’ face may sweep away the nervous feelings you both use to
have.

- On your 1st date dont talk too much about yourself, take your
time and pay attention to your date. Remember you are being
tested by your date and you should also be testing your date.

- If you are unsure about yourself at that time our you feel
like your date is to good to be with you, you must clear of your
mind from those poisonous questions as it will make you more
nervous than you should be.

- Be honest about yourself. This is not a marketing game. Lying
or exagerrating about yourself could only destroy your chances
of a potential relationship.

- If you feel like everything is going well, ask for a second
date but do not wait for a confirmation right away or overly
repeat asking.

- At the end of your first date, always thank your date for the
nice time you had and if you feel like she or he is not ready
for the first kiss, save it for later.

The first date can be a nerve-racking and uneasy event for both
parts but always remember you’re the prize to be won. If your
date does not value you or your time, it’s her/his loss and you
must carry on with your life. There’ll always be plenty of
chances for you to find the right person.

I wonder what would happen if we shut out the noise,
and reflected on the humanity of all us girls and boys.
As tsunamis come out of nowhere with force,
and remind us once again of human anguish and remorse.

I wonder if we would be so swept away by American Idol,
if the bird-flu pandemic caused a rift in our recital.
As more hurricanes blow with their winds of destruction,
causing our activities to cease with abrupt interruption.

I wonder if Shock-Jock obsessions with how much LEG-I-SEE,
would be as important to us as our own LEG-A-CY.
When the best laid plans of mice and men fall with a flop,
like two towers did, and all time seemed to stop.

I wonder if disease and famine swept over our land,
would body image and sex still be the focus of man.
When earthquakes, mudslides, and fires spreading wild,
make the knees of the strongest man bow like a child’s.

I wonder if we took time to reflect on how finite we really are,
instead of our outlook on life being on the next Hollywood star.
Would our quest be for money, success and more “stuff” for our collections,
or would we finally see the value there is in our connections.

I Wonder

P.S. Fathers, Have you hugged your kids today?

Each one of us, at one time or another has either driven or been a passenger in an automobile and experienced our traffic control lighting system. Originally unique, but
now part of a global system.

Situated at every fully functional traffic light intersection is at least one “Red”
light which is timed to turn on and off regularly to “Stop” traffic. It employs a 100
Watt(varies between 90 and 120 Watts)incandescent light bulb. Several years ago, these
light bulbs began being replaced with the latest LED(Light Emitting Diode) cluster assemblies, as were the other lamps at the same intersection. The newer Led lamps consumed only 10 Watts to accomplish the same light output(mostly greater). The clincher ! The original incandescent bulb only radiates approximately 10 % of the power consumed in
visible light. The other 90 % is radiated as “heat”. And with the red filter used on the original assembly to only let through the RED color needed for the “stop” function, another 30 % of the original visible portion of the light is lost, so that only about 7 % of the
100 Watts of power consumed to light the lamp is visible(to the human eye). The real clincher is that our local taxes to pay the utilities have been calculated for the 100 Watt consumption for each bulb( when it is turned on ) and only getting 7 % of the light. We
town citizens and tax payers have been paying for the 93 % wasted as invisible heat for several decades.

Leds, on the other hand, are a different breed of lighting technology and do not radiate
light in the form of heat( unless designed specifically for that purpose ) and the Red
Led assembly cluster which replaces the original traffic light bulb needs no red filter
because it radiates a “pure” Red light. Granted, the initial cost for this lamp cluster
assembly is still higher, but when we consider the LED lamp “life” estimated to be 100,000 hours and therefore lower replacement along with labor cost, the pay-back is quick and fairly permanent. These benefits are not even considering the ongoing 90 % energy cost savings.

Lighting Facts…I Wanna Know !

Some Quick Mind Awakening

=========================

To shatter an LED lamp would require more than 1,000 G’s of impact force !

To shatter an incandescent lamp would only require less than 10 G’s

===================================

The time it takes for an incandescent light to turn on(to its maximum brightness)
is about 1/10 of a second.

It takes much less than 1/1,000,000 of a second for the LED to accomplish the same thing
and a generally accepted Led spec.. One might say , “who cares” ? Well, when Led lighting is used for an automobile brake light, 1/10 of a second greater reaction
time can mean the difference between stopping in time, or a collision, with possible
severe injury to some, or all of the occupants.

I am a longtime searcher of possible solutions to the problems of the day.

Our 5-year-old cat, Yoshi, was diagnosed with renal failure. The
veterinarian claimed that there isn’t much he can do. Yoshi will
probably only live a few more years and from time to time he
will need to be put in the hospital for treatment. My wife asked
the doctor about a holistic veterinarian and if there are any in
the area. As it turns out they allow a holistic veterinarian to
use their facilities on Fridays. So we scheduled an appointment.

In about 5 weeks of work, which by the way includes acupuncture,
our cat, Yoshi, is like a new person. (I know, I know but he is
a little person to us.) He loves going to Dr. Fox and during the
usual hour-long appointment he just lays there and purrs.

She actually communicates with him. For all you Cartesian
rationalists out there I know it sounds strange but Dr. Fox
gives us information that she could not have known. Little
intricate details that we did not know until we get home and
check it out. For instance Yoshi told her there was a chip out
of his food bowl and it was bothering him. Sure enough when we
got home there was a chip out of his bowl.

Regardless, she told us Yoshi really loves the Christmas season.
I told her that my mom and dad really worked hard to make the
Christmas season special for my sister, brother and me. Now when
I think of the season it brings a tear to my eye because even as
my parents grew older they would allow me to give them a special
Christmas at our house. I really I miss them.

Dr. Fox also recalled how her parents would go all out for
Christmas but her father was very disciplined and would require
the tinsel to be put on the tree perfectly. She was not that
good at it so he would not let her put it on the tree. Because
of that her Christmas memories are not as fond as mine.

However, I do remember when Christmas changed dramatically in my
life. My dad decided to modernize Christmas and went out and
purchased an aluminum tree with one of those multi-colored
wheels that spun around over a floodlight. I was devastated that
we did not have a real tree for the first time in my life. There
was some retribution though. There was a little setscrew that
held the plastic colored wheel in place over the floodlight.
Once in awhile it would back out and the plastic wheel would
begin to wobble. One day it backed out and the wheel began to
wobble and instead of telling my dad (we were not allowed to
touch it) my sister, brother and me watch this wheel wobble down
on top of the flood light and melt. We waited until it melted
entirely over the light until we called him. Wow was he mad that
day at modern technology.

So what is the point of all this? My wife and I have always had
a real tree. I will admit to being a little obsessive so I was
uncomfortable at times with the dirt a real tree can create. Two
years ago the tree we bought started losing its needles quickly
and we had to take it down two weeks before Christmas. I used
this as an excuse to talk my wife into an artificial tree and
actually had her convinced that it was a really nice tree. That
is until this past Friday when Dr. Fox said Yoshi wants us to
get a real tree again. Furthermore he exclaimed that I don’t
want a spruce tree I want a pine tree like three years ago
because it smells so good. The thought of the smell of pine
brought back so many wonderful memories. As I basked in this
joyous feeling I suddenly remembered the dreaded curse of many
of us suffering through a mid life crisis, I am just like my
parents. Well that isn’t all bad, just sometimes, and like my
father, I get off track and forget what is really important.

As an ontological coach and more important a human, I often fall
into the drift of life and forget to take a moment to be
thankful and grateful for the world around me. I get so caught
up in the details of life I forget to look up and see the big
picture. On Sunday our Pastor said we should be thankful for the
coincidences in life because they probably aren’t as
coincidental as we may think. Perhaps it is the time to look up
and truly celebrate what Christmas is really about. Jesus loves
the little children of the world and he calls us to love one and
other as well. I am thankful for a little child (albeit not
necessarily a human one) breaking my drift and getting me to
look back up to the stars once again. We will have a real tree
this year and more importantly I will pledge to make people and
gratitude my priority for the season and hopefully the year to
come. Life transitions can begin in many ways and sometimes we
are awakened to our habits and transparencies in life by the
smallest of incidents. In this case it is kind of like coughing
up a little human hairball.

By the way, those of you who receive a Christmas card from us
may find some teeth marks in it. Yoshi had Dr. Fox tell that he
wants to sign the cards this year as well.

Have a Wonderful and Blessed Holiday Season
