As the stigma of seeking therapy has diminished, serious therapists have themselves become scapegoats and symbols for much that is wrong with the mental health field. This distrust of the therapeutic professions comes at a time when there is an increasing unraveling of relationships, family, and community and society needs good therapists more than ever. While the Internet has brought us easy access to instant information and provided us with chat rooms to visit when we are lonely, the Internet is itself responsible for many of the new problems facing us, as the real structures that constitute a dependable emotional safety net are being eroded.

In an attempt to make the work place more inviting and employees more productive, the new work environment may include amenities such as gyms, child-care centers, kitchens, valet and concierge services, sleeping rooms, and even rooms for worship. The underside of this shift towards “office as home” is that it is in direct competition with, and can seriously challenge, the quality of family life. Thus, while improving the work place—a major and important cultural construct—is all to the good, it is, at the same time, contributing to the erosion of an even more important cultural construct, the family.

Family time is becoming sparse and scattered. Even those who work at home often lose their boundaries and find that work life and home life merge into one. Husbands and wives stop communicating, lovemaking disappears and children get shuttled from one activity to another or shunted from one ex to another.

It is time to stop and think about the way your own life is structured. Do you have your priorities straight? Do you make time for yourself, for your loved one(s), for your children, your friends? Do you exercise, eat well, and take care of your spiritual self? When is the last time you had a relaxed meal, together at home? Is where you live a place of business, a place to sleep, or does the structure, be it a room, apartment or house really function as a home?

If you give to yourself first, in a healthy selfish-self-caring way, second, to those you love and third to work, your chances of having a happy home and full work life will improve. If you increasingly give at the office, you risk winding up with the equivalent of an empty pocket with a hole in it. The more you put into your empty pocket, the bigger the hole, and before you know it, life as you wish is life as you wish not—-chaotic, up-side-down, and slipping through that ever expanding torn hole. Sew up that empty hole and make your life whole. Give at home first and at the office second. Everyone will benefit, especially you.

How do you effectively fight adware and what adware removal software is best?

I recommend several techniques, used in tandem:

1) Use anti-spyware software.
This is software that specifically targets the nastiest Adware and Spyware and removes it. There are a plethora of programs out there to choose from so I am actually going to make some recommendations.
One I have worked with both at home and in my job is Noadware. It is easy to use and works really well. It catches Adware and Spyware that some of the free ones I tried didn’t catch. To check it out and get a free scan of your computer you can click here . Another program I have used and highly recommend is XoftSpy.
There is also an adware and spyware remover that works well and is free to home users – Adaware . I use both Noadware and Adaware and they work effectively when used in combination with anti-virus software. These need to be updated as well and the software prompts with you to update with both of these programs when you run them, so they are fairly low maintenance.

2) Have good anti-virus software and keep it updated.
Many people have anti-virus software, but not all of them keep it updated. You can set it up to auto-update if you leave your computer on all of the time, or you can update it manually. I manually update every Saturday. To do this you can double click on the icon for your software. It is usually located on the bottom right hand side of your desktop, across from the START button. If you are using XP you may have to click the little arrow down there to see the icon. McAfee’s is an “M” and Norton’s is a little yellow shield. When you double click the icon, the program will come up and there should be a button there to update.

So, keep the anti-virus software updated. This will help protect you from the newest threats.

3) Beware of the FREE stuff!
Everyone likes free stuff. Free screensavers, free games, free pictures and free music are all popular downloads from the web. Use caution when downloading these, however, because often these freebies are far from free. I just don’t download them anymore; I have been burned too many times. If you do choose to download them, be careful and read the screens CAREFULLY when you are downloading and/or installing these items. Sometimes you can actually agree to install adware on your computer without even realizing that you are clicking okay. If you are a mad clicker like I am, you will need to override this tendency when you are dealing with freeware and shareware. Don’t just click okay, okay, okay…often with these adware installs, the default answer is not the best one.

4) Turning off System Restore.
(WARNING: this step is not for everyone)

Often these programs will set themselves up in way that even if you uninstall them they will reinstall themselves. They use your System Restore feature. You can disable this feature to thwart the adware and keep it from reinstalling. There is a downside to this though. If you need this feature and you turn it off then the back-up of your system will not be there. I use software to back-up my system, so I keep System Restore turned off. If you have never used the System Restore feature and don’t think you ever will, you may want to turn it off. It is totally your call.
To get to System Restore go to: START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM and then click on the SYSTEM RESTORE Tab. You can uncheck it to turn off system restore.

Your web site has to target the right keywords for people to find it on the search engines. How will you find these keywords?
Its true!

“Don’t try to create search engine traffic. Stand in front of the lane where traffic is.”

When you are thinking of creating a new product or developing a website, you should first find out what is it that people are looking for.

Two things are very important for you to succeed.

The product or site should relate to something you love. You can create a successful site on horses only if you love horses.

You have to locate what topic related to your subject is in heavy demand. Is it care and upkeep of horses or horse racing?

If you do not identify a niche market and become an expert in that subject, you will have a tough time succeeding in your venture.

Now, its easier than ever!

Locating your niche area has become easier than ever. There are several tools that help you to locate variations of your basic theme and then report the demand, supply and profitability of these keywords, based on the search engine traffic.

Demand

The amount of search engine traffic your selected keyword is having. The more, the better. This will differ from search engine to search engine.

Supply

The number of sites that come up when someone searches for the term. Obviously, the fewer, the better.

This is your competition. You will have to get a good rank in these search engine result pages (SERP). You have a greater chance of getting a good rank and possibly hits to your sites when there is lower competition.

Potential

The potential of the keyword you are targeting is the ratio of the demand vs. the supply. If the demand goes up, potential goes up; if the supply goes up, potential goes down.

However, there is a twist here.

Which is a better keyword? One with demand and supply of 100 each or one with demand and supply of 1000 each. Naturally the later.

So what we do is - to build this factor in our calculations, we put

potential = (demand x demand) / supply

This reports the potential of the second keyword as being higher - which it is.

You must note here that the actual figure for potential is not important. Its main use is to rank the keywords we are planning to target and identify, which are the ones we will go for first.

Have you ever played the “What If” game with yourself? To be
more accurate, has your MIND ever played that game with you?

Okay, if you’re human, and you probably are if you’re reading
this, then you know how the game goes. You’re about ready to
make a big step forward or try something new and all of a sudden
the “What If’s” go wild.

Going on a trip outside the country? “What if there’s a war or
violence breaks out.” Starting a new company? “What if you
fail?” Going to make a phone call? “What if they don’t like you
or they say ‘no’?”

Have you ever noticed that this game always takes you to the
bottom of the elevator — the very lowest place that you could
possibly go? The elevator of this thinking doesn’t stop at the
middle floors, giving you a chance to consider alternatives.

Oh, no. This game takes you straight to the bottom, creating the
image and fear of the very worst that could possibly happen.

The “What if” game is based on lack and limitation thinking,
what is often called poverty consciousness. Poverty
consciousness is rooted in the idea that there’s not enough to
go around, or if someone’s handing out all the goodies in life,
you’re in the wrong line.

And, let’s be honest, sometimes the “What If” game is created by
other people. Parents, who want to protect you, or people who
tend to play life small are famous for this. They have a limited
vision of life or want to keep you in the womb where they feel
you’re safe, and in the process they project this limited vision
onto others. If they can keep you small, their world is intact
and they can continue to feel safe.

The biggest problem with this game is that it can stop you dead
in your tracks. The fears and doubts settle in and before you
know it you’re procrastinating, or worse yet find yourself in a
state of paralysis where you can’t seem to do anything at all.
Often, we’ll talk ourselves out of our dreams by convincing
ourselves that we really didn’t want something after all,
telling ourselves that it really wasn’t important.

If we do this often enough, we set a pattern for our lives that
effectively kills our passions, our dreams, our inspirations as
we “settle” for a life of just getting by and existing. It can
leave you with the feeling that you’re just taking up space on
this planet as you move through each day mindlessly without a
great deal of joy.

What if you decided you don’t want to play the old game - that
you’re ready for a new one? Try this one on for size.

What if this life that we’re living is one incredibly wonderful
game where you are in complete control of what you experience?
Think of yourself now as the master designer of your life and
YOU are in charge. By the power of what you think and take
action to do, you have the ability to choose your life down to
every detail, limited only by your imagination. Can you see it?

What if you not only had that right but that responsibility?

What if you knew that you are guaranteed to succeed at
everything you do? What if you knew that whatever you can
imagine is already waiting for you - all you have to do is claim
it? What if everything in the Universe was available to support
you so that you can live the life of your dreams?

Here’s the truth of it: You create your life. You create
EVERYTHING in your life. If you’re not creating consciously, you
are creating with your subconscious mind, based on old beliefs
and ideas.

Starting today, make the decision to play a new game - one that
is joyful, loving, prosperous, and filled with everything that
will absolutely delight and excite you!

YOU deserve it!

Almost everyone in one way or another has experienced some sort of natural disaster. It may have been a tornado, hurricane, tsunami, earthquake, or any other form of a life threatening event created by nature.

We can almost assume that no one is really prepared for such events especially if we are caught off guard by them. The basic premise for surviving such events comes down to keeping your composure. Remember that the only thing to fear is fear itself. You may be thinking, that’s easier said then done. In fact, it is easier said then done. If panic sets in during a natural disaster it could be detrimental to your survival and maybe to others around you as well.

It’s hard to be prepared for any disaster if you did all your disaster planning with the notion that you will be in one particular place during such an event. Chances are you could be away from home when disaster strikes. Don’t put all your eggs into one basket.
Taking survival items with you on your travels is recommended especially if you’re headed to a place known to be a hazardous area.

A successful way of being prepared for any disaster is to become familiar with the event itself. There are a lot of articles and news stories both on the internet and the television. A really good example is to watch the Discovery Channel or The Weather Channel on Cable or Satellite TV. Imagine yourself being in imbedded in the same situations. Think about what you would do. If you can’t think about how you would handle theses kinds of situations here’s a few pointers that may offer some help.

Mental Preparation

This is probably the most important thing you will need to help survive a disaster.
First get the idea out of your head that it can’t, or never will happen to you.

If you live in a particular area that is prone to certain natural events such as tornados for instance then do as much research as you can on this topic. Read stories about people who survived a tornado. Don’t read about people who did not survive one as its counter productive. Watch The Discovery Channel or The Weather Channel when there is a show on tornados.

Expect that you may not be at home when one strikes. Maybe you’re visiting with a relative or neighbor. Ask your relative, or neighbor what they have planned in case such events were to happen. If you ever have the chance to actually see a tornado from a safe distance I would recommend doing so. This may help in overcoming some fears you may have of them.

Developing your common sense is critical. Your common sense is what you’re going to have to rely on. Common sense is derived from knowledge, beliefs, and experience you have. Getting the knowledge is easy. Acquiring the experience is not. That’s why you will need to read, or view stories about people who have survived a disaster. Then imagine yourself in their place. Doing what they did to survive. This will help to develop your common sense. You will need to do this a few times on a regular basis till it’s imbedded into your subconscious mind. Your beliefs should change from thinking that you’re going to die to believing that you will survive.

Physical Preparation:

This comes in three parts. The first part is being physically prepared yourself. Being healthy is very important. Get exercise such as jogging, swimming, or riding a bike. Eat healthy food, and try to lose weight if you’re overweight. If you’re weak, can’t run or unable to lift heavy objects then you need to get in better shape. Of course some people can’t do these things because of disabilities or age. If you fit into one of those categories then make sure someone who can do those things can come to your help if needed.
Take a course in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). There are many places which give this training for free. If you have several members of your family living with you, have them take the training also.

The second most important thing is to keep within reach items that can assist in helping you during an emergency. A cell phone, 2 way radio, flashlight, and first aid kit are good examples. If you’re away from home keeping these items in your car would be beneficial. If you don’t have a car, or are a good distance from it, consider a small backpack, or purse that can hold these items.

Third, stay informed of current and pending weather conditions before you do any traveling, even short distances. Do a quick look on the internet, or The Weather Channel.
It will only take a few minutes of your time.

Prepare a written plan and make sure your family is aware of it. Within this plan include a place where everyone can meet incase they get separated from each other. A primary location and a secondary location would be a good idea. If the natural disaster is large, where a whole State is affected, then created a location in another State where everyone can meet.

Conclusion

Remember that you are only helpless if you believe you’re helpless. Successful preparation is a key to surviving any disaster. Stay Informed.
