This is the second part of creating your own business card. If you missed the first one, let me know: mailto:webmistress@janes-place.com

Click in the box, where you want your text to appear.Type in your text. Make sure the text is where you want it. For example, in my card the bottom text wasn’t under my logo. To put it under the logo, I highlighted the text I wanted under the logo and clicked on the left button on the tool bar.

You can change the font, by going to the ‘Format Menu’ and choosing ‘Font’. Choose your Font size and the type of Font you want. Click ‘ok’. NOTE: Be sure you choose a Font that is easily read. If you don’t, you may as well not have a business card.

NOTE: If you create your card and don’t like the way it looks, you can undo the changes, by going to the ‘Edit Menu’ and choose ‘Undo’. You can also highlight the area you want to do over and undo it the same way.

If you create your Business Card with a URL or Email, be sure to turn off the hyperlink like we did for our Letterhead.

You can print the Business Cards your self or have them printed professionally. For best results, they should be printed on 250 gsm or thicker paper. Most printers can only handle 160 gsm, therefore you might want to go the professional printer route. If you are operating on a small budget, like most small businesses, print them yourself. That way the cost will just be for the ink and paper.

If you choose to have them printed professionally, you will need to copy it to a floppy disk. To do this, go to ’start’ — ‘programs’ –’Windows Explorer’ . Click on the + next to ‘My Documents’. Choose the folder your Business card is in and double-click on it. On the right side of the screen, you will see the file, ‘Business Card’. Right-click on it and choose ‘Send To’ — 3 1/2 Floppy A’. It will then be copied to your Floppy Disk. Take this disk to the professional printing place and they will do the rest.

If you choose to print them yourself, you will need to create more than one card and buy the paper to print them on [at least 160 gsm].

To create more than one card, we will copy and paste the original card. Click inside the card area. Go to the ‘Table Menu’ — ‘Select’ — ‘Table’. Go to the ‘Edit Menu’ and choose ‘Copy’. Go to the space directly under the first card and hit enter. Go to the ‘Edit Menu’ and choose ‘Paste Cells’. A copy of your business card will appear. Continue this process until you finish the first row. Word will automatically move to the second row. Continue this process until the page is full. Go to the ‘File Menu’, choose ‘Print’. Under ‘Page Range’, be sure that ‘all’ is selected. Choose the number of copies you want and click ‘ok’.

(Montreal) January 25, 2005 - Performers from live video chat site LiveCamNetwork.com will be featured in an upcoming exhibit by Montreal photographer Mia Donovan.

The exhibit, called “Stripped”, will present a series of “lush, large-scale photographs of women who provide their body to the adult entertainment industry”. Among those featured are Laurelle and 2much.net poster girl Deja, as well as women from other facets of the sex business, from strippers to porn stars.

Donovan, whose work has been on the web as well as independant newspapers and print advertising, seeks to provide more than behind-the-scenes peeks into the trade by setting a counterpoint to the stereotyped images normally associated with the business by documenting the day-to-day reality.

The LiveCamNetwork chat hostesses were photographed over the summer of 2004 in a variety of work-oriented settings as part of a year-long project which reflects Donovan’s continued interest in notions of sexual fantasy.

The exhibit opening will take place Saturday January 29, at 2:00 pm, and will run until March 19 at Montreal’s Observatoire 4, located at 372 Ste. Catherine street west, gallery 426. Donovan herself will be present, though she will be meeting the public at the space on Saturday, March 5th, when the exposition will have had a chance to be seen.

A few years ago, as I was at a crossroads in my life, I decided
that I was going to become massively successful and not live a
mediocre life. I was working as a training executive for a
private computer training company in India. I made up my mind,
determined to be the best computer programmer, and decided that
I wanted to work for a foreign company in a foreign country.
None of my family members was in a foreign country. Most of my
associates were not massively successful. Yet I determined with
all my heart and soul that I would become one. That was the BEST
decision I made regarding my career. The following are the steps
I took to fulfill my desire. You can take these same steps to
accomplish anything you have a heart-felt deep burning desire.
Imagine, when you are pushed into a lake and you don’t know
swimming and how you would struggle to get out of water to
breathe and be alive. That kind of desire you should have. Then,
when you follow these steps, you are bound to succeed, no matter
what.

Step 1

Analyze your current situation. Do you think it is okay? Are you
happy? Go to step 2

Step 2

Why are you not happy? What can you do about that? What are your
desires? Are they truly yours or some one else? Take time to
find a quiet place and find your heart-felt deep desires. Then,
write down on paper or in your mind why you want to accomplish
them? Do you feel you can do it? This is the second stage of
introspection. Then, proceed to step 3.

Step 3

Set your realistic goals based on your deep desires from step 2.
Then go to step 4.

Step 4

Knowledge is power. Get educated. Take an inventory of your
positive and negatives. Acquire skills necessary to fulfill your
goals. Remember all skills are acquired. Proceed to step 5.

Step 5

Model experts in your field. Study them; analyze them. My
preference to choose models who have passed on. You can have
mentors who are living, but to emulate someone and choose them
as your model, I prefer who have passed on, for I believe we
never know how we finish our lives, but still can learn from
their good and positives. Find a mentor. If possible, talk to
them; ask them to teach you what you lack. This is very
important step. Go to step 6.

Step 6

Now is the time to act. (Previous steps also you took action).
This step is to put your goals into actionable little tasks you
can do every day and monitor their progress. You can submit all
your problems to your creative mind at night and it will work
for you all through the night and give answers in the morning,
probably. Go to step 7.

Step 7

Be patient. Constantly improve yourself and help others improve
themselves. Be detached of the results. Have faith and
eventually at the right time your desires will be fulfilled or
you will get better than what you thought.

I believe that wireless networks represent one of the most significant inventions in human history – almost as important as sliced bread.

Now, seriously, bread is certainly easy enough to cut yourself, but try to wire up a network and you will think of this invention in a different way.

Just to make the whole picture clearer for you, let me give you five reasons why using a wireless network is definitely worth it.

Sharing Web Access

With wireless networking, you can easily and cheaply share one single Internet connection among different computers, without having to use more modems. If that wasn’t enough, you can even include new computers in your network only by using a wireless card and switching them on to have an immediate Internet connection! Not many wired networks would be able to do that.

Sharing Printers and Files

A wireless network guarantees access to your files regardless of where you are within your house, and with a home computer it also facilitates the synchronization of data on a laptop. Using wireless networks makes it so much simpler to send files between computers as compared to the traditional emails or CDs.

Moreover, if your printer is connected, you can write your documents anywhere you want and finally print them through a printer connected to another computer. In other words, a printer plugged into one of the computers on the network is available to all the computers saving you the expense of having multiple printers at home.

Playing Games Online

As might have already seen, games have often the option to play over a LAN. As previously mentioned, wireless networks are LANs, meaning that people can play together without having to be physically near each other.

Isn’t it more exciting to play with your family and friends instead of unknown people on the Internet and be able to make the whole game work much faster? Actually, you can even ask your friends to bring their own computers in and join a thrilling ‘LAN party’!

With wireless networking you can easily connect any games you wish to play to the Internet, and start playing online. Playing online with a wirelessly connected to Xbox or PlayStation 2 is definitely simpler than having to use your modem for connection all the time.

Always On Access

What made the spread of broadband possible was that it let Internet connections be constantly on, eliminating the need of dialing in all the time. With wireless networking, network connections are always on, so that every time you wish, any of your computers is able to connect to the Internet!

Regardless of where you take your laptops to within your home, they will have instant access! Moreover, wireless networks offer you the convenience of eliminating usernames and password systems, as they operate without logging in. Talk about convenience!

No More Wire Running Everywhere!

Being able to eliminate wires from running all over your house is probably the biggest reason why you should turn your network to wireless. Believe me, you will be so pleased when you get rid of problematic, costly, ugly and unsafe wires.

Although the average Ethernet wire doesn’t cost much, once you’ve bought the necessary quantity to do what you need to do, but getting everything you need for a wired LAN it adds up quickly.

Plus, whenever you wish to have wires running between rooms or floors, you are forced to have holes in the walls, which might not even possible if the house is not yours.

Many people living in rented apartments have to limit their network to a particular room until they finally decided to switch to wireless allowing them to even take their computers outside, if they wish to!

Using wireless networks also enables you to have more safety, as there is no danger of tripping over uncovered wires.

Furthermore, if you are moving, you do not have to pack all the wires up and re-connect them again. Finally, with wireless networks there’s no need for you to check every single wire if your Internet connection doesn’t work.
