Antique Farms are always interesting family outings that make history come alive. Just don’t tell the kids it’s a history lesson. Seeing how people worked and lived, especially in our own local areas really gives kids a connection to their heritage that is fun.

My friend told me her daughters were still playing “farm” weeks after the family toured a local farm museum. There’s nothing like actually experiencing Living History to make it come alive.

If you are into collecting Antique farm implements, Milk Jugs or tractors, it’s a lot of fun to go to Farm Museums and Country tractor shows. A lot of great people show up at these wholesome family days.

They are really fun and are a great way to spend family time together that will be remembered and appreciated. Believe me, kids go nuts with old Farm equipment, especially tractors!

I remember playing on old tractors as a kid, in my home town over 40 years ago! Playing farmer with my two wild brothers, on old ramshackled tractors is a memory I still delight in.

Who knows? Maybe that is what hooked me into the Antique Farm passion? Ok, I admit it, I’m hooked!

What is really amazing though is that you can find ancient relics at these shows often in Top running shape. Did you know you can still order parts for some of these living history machines?

If you pay attention to some simple rules of photographic composition, rather than simply “pointing and shooting,” you’ll begin to notice a significant difference in your snapshots, even the ones you take of family events.

1) Remember, centered photos are boring. Pay attention the next time you’re in a movie theater; nothing is ever centered. Follos the rule of thirds - mentally divide the frame into thirds both vertically and horizontally, and place the center of interest (usually your subject’s eyes) on one of those ‘third lines.’

2) Frame your pictures. If you’re taking scenics of a distant lake or mountain, look for an interesting frame. This is no different from framing a photo on your wall. Your frame can be tree branches, rocks, or some other interesting foreground object.

3) When shooting portraits, use the longest zoom setting your camera will allow (without using the “digital zoom”). Also use the widest aperture (or the lowest f-stop number). This will throw the background into a nice soft focus, drawing your viewer’s eyes right to your smiling subject.

4) Look for distractions in the frame. It’s hard to learn to do this, because your brain naturally filters out the telephone pole growing out of Uncle Joe’s head - but the photo printer won’t. Look for objects which will draw your viewer’s attention away from your desired center of interest.

There are times when we wish to do our healing work with a counselor or other professional, and there are times when self-help better meets our needs.

Whether you use energy work, journaling, meditation, or any other self-healing approach, there are a number of things that you can do to ensure that you achieve the most growth and healing possible, from your self-healing sessions.

1.) Choose a focus.

Begin by choosing an issue that you wish to heal.

If you struggle with identifying specific areas you want to focus upon, you may find it helpful to keep a small notebook with you. Whenever you notice a pattern, issue or concern that you would like to feel better about, quickly jot a note down to yourself so that you will remember it later.

Going through personal journals you keep – or emails you have sent to others - is another way that you can identify areas you would like to heal.

2.) Make your healing a priority.

Set aside the time – preferably regularly – where you will focus upon your healing. Write it into your schedule so that you make a commitment to setting this time aside and do not forget.

Alternatively, build self-healing work into your day: a 15 minute healing session in the morning when you first wake up, at the end of the day, or at any other time that feels right to you, can be a wonderful way to get yourself moving forward and feeling better.

3.) Give yourself the time and space you need.

One of the reasons that people often find that they get more out of healing sessions guided by a professional is simply that they focus much more deeply during those sessions. This is partially because a space is created in which outside distractions are not permitted.

Whether you choose to set aside an hour or a smaller amount of time, create a comfortable space in which to do your self-healing work. Find somewhere that you can sit or lie down comfortably. Make an effort to minimize distractions – turn the phone, television or computer off, and ensure that you have the time that you need to accomplish the personal work you would like to get done.

4.) Have everything you need, close at hand.

This may include Kleenex, a glass of water, a warm soft blanket, or pen and paper to write down thoughts or insights that come up during the process that you wish to address or make note of.

Have any healing resources that you have found to be beneficial nearby. If you have a self-help book or journal you find to be particularly helpful, you may want to refer to it. Pictures of loved ones or of peaceful scenes of times and places that you felt loved and safe, may also be beneficial.

5.) Plan to do something nurturing afterwards.

Part of healing involves experiencing greater love and compassion for oneself. You can begin to put this in motion both during and immediately after your healing session.

This is particularly important if you have chosen to focus upon healing something that feels “big” or particularly painful. In all likelihood if you stick with the process, you will feel much calmer, better, and more peaceful than you would have thought possible prior to the healing session beginning.

However, the biggest obstacle that people sometimes find with self-healing work is that if they start to feel upset, they may suddenly decide to stop the process. They suddenly find themselves distracted, or they decide the issue is “too big” to tackle alone.

If the issue is too big, seek professional support as needed. However, in most cases simply taking a moment and reassuring yourself, using any self-help skills you have found particularly helpful, and focusing upon your breathing while thinking comforting thoughts or using helpful imagery, will help you to quickly move past the current upset.

Let yourself know that if upset is encountered, you can handle it and move through it gently. Make the decision and commitment to yourself to do this, so that this moment will be the last time that this incident, issue or experience, feels so upsetting to you.

You owe yourself the greater peace that you will feel if you stay on track with the process. It can be easier to stick with a self-healing session if you are aware that you will be taking really good care of yourself afterwards – whether this is by going for a walk, calling a friend, reading a comforting book, or watching a favourite TV show or movie.

6.) Be kind to yourself.

In the absence of a supportive professional, be a support to yourself. If you booked a session with a therapist and during it she or he criticized you or gave you negative messages about your past or present difficulties – or your likelihood to heal from them – would you feel helped by that? Would you be interested in going back to do more work with them again? Not likely!

During your healing process, treat yourself the way that you would expect or want a friend, counselor, or therapist to treat you. Practice seeing yourself with compassion and understanding.

7.) If you can not - or will not - set aside specific periods of time to work on self-healing, take full advantage of any hidden moments that you do have.

Not every self-healing session needs to be done with the level of detail and care that is described above. Significant, profound healing can occur simply while going for a walk and focusing upon healing thoughts, affirmations and imagery.

Making it a habit to give yourself loving and compassionate messages on a regular basis, as you go about your day, can go a long way towards altering your overall outlook and emotional state.

8.) Know your limitations.

If it feels unsafe to you to process a particular personal issue on your own – or if you are currently feeling completely overwhelmed or unable to cope in general – it may be a greater act of self-help to make the decision to ask for assistance with your personal healing work. This help may come in the form of a trusted and supportive friend, support group, or skilled professional.

Know that there is a middle ground between going it entirely alone and being “in therapy”. You can choose to do mostly self-healing if that feels right to you, and still seek professional assistance occasionally, whether this is once a month, a few times each year, or simply as a one time session.

Even those people who enjoy the benefit of regular counseling or therapy sessions will get the most value and benefit from that work, and will they further accelerate their progress and healing by working on their concerns between professionally facilitated sessions.

X10 Cameras are becoming very popular for several reasons. But what is X10?

X10 is a communications language that allows compatible products to talk to each other using the existing electrical wiring in the home.

How to avoid problems?

Most of the time, X10 products works without any problems. However, because they talk over your home’s electrical wires they may have difficulties in two situations.

The first is when there is an appliance running that generates “noise” onto the power lines.

Appliances that may cause problems are motors (e.g. dryer, treadmill, vacuum cleaner, etc.) and advanced electronics (e.g. switching power supplies on some laptops, some big screen TV’s, etc.).

The good news is that all you need to do is plug the appliance into a noise filter.

The second situation is when your X10 transmitter is on one side (phase) of your home’s electrical wiring and the receiver is on the other side.

Many times the signal either bridges the two phases at the transformer at the street or via some 220V appliance in the home. When this doesn’t happen, a simple plug-in phase coupler called SignaLinc will solve this problem.

What devices are known to interfere with X10 commands?

There are many devices in most homes, which interfere with the X10 signal, preventing it from getting to its destination.

These initiatives was first announced by Kofi Anan and Negroponte in press confrence
He said,”Any previous doubt that a very low cost laptop could be made for education in the developing world
has just gone away”.

The Lime-green Linux-based laptops will have wireless broadband,
allowing each one to operate with in a mesh network with other nearby.

The OLPC initiatives aim to provide low-cost laptop computers to children in developing nations.
This is a technology that could revolutionize how we educate the world’s children and to service in this new era.

“Throught this project of OLPC,we can aware our children not only to close the digital divide but also to bridge the knowledge divide”,said Quanta founder and chairman,Barry Lam

Under developing countries have lack of resources and
this project will be useful to improve their modren forms of education.

It is also good that OLPC will be distributed through government so that it can not be used unfair.

Implimentation of this project will be hard target for UNO because
the cost of the laptop is not affordable for the poor students in under developing countries.
so the aim of this project i.e low-cost laptop for education could be failed.
One of the biggest advantage of this project is that in school ,
computer lab will not be necessary because every student will have their own laptop.
but the important point is that UNO need to send trained staff to give proper training
to the teachers that how to operate this laptop because most of the teachers don’t aware
about Linux operating system so that UNO should make a proper syllabus for the successful
implimantation of this project in under developing countries.

Another doubt is aries that how these laptop defeat other devices
which are provided in the market in the low price than $100.

There is no point saying anything about the success
of this project because there are alot of questions and problems between
the announcement and implimentation of this project.

Through the wonders of science, infertile couples who were previously unable to bear children, due to reasons such as blocked fallopian tubes, low sperm count, low egg quantities or advanced age of the mother, are now able to conceive through in-vitro fertilization. The results are babies known as test-tube babies which are technically conceived outside the womb.

In a natural scenario, the conception of a baby occurs when the ovum, travels from the ovaries, through the fallopian tube to be fertilized by the sperm of the father during sexual intercourse. From this point on, the fertilized egg will travel down towards the uterus and during the process division of cells will occur until it reaches its final destination at the wall of the uterus. However, in the cases of block fallopian tubes, the eggs are unable to travel from the ovaries to the uterus and conception cannot happen.

Developed in the United Kingdom by Dr. Patrick Steptoe and Dr. Robert Edwards, the process of in-vitro fertilization involves removing eggs from the ovaries of the mother and combining them with the sperm of the father in a lab environment. The fertilized egg is then placed back into the uterus of the mother after 3 to 5 days and will remain there to grow till birth. Because of the low success pregnancy rate of this procedure, a few eggs are placed in the uterus to increase the odds of success. With this process, statistics have shown that the rates of multiple births have increased where 24 percent of the in-vitro fertilization births have produced twins.

The first test-tube baby, Louise Brown, who was born on the 25th July 1978, marked hope for other infertile couples to have a baby through this procedure. However, many others were concerned about the ethical issues surround this. One major area of concern was the fact that as the egg is located outside the womb for a few days while the cells multiplied before being put back inside the uterus, the health issues affecting this baby is unknown. Indeed, research has been shown that test-tube babies have a higher chance of birth defects and low birth weight, and researchers still have not been able to determine the reason for this.

Other issue of concern is that through this procedure, some of the eggs fertilized in the lab are later discarded. Does this procedure mean that the researchers are actually killing potential people? How is the line drawn in this case?

Then there is also the issue of commercial opportunities for eggs and sperms to be bought and surrogate wombs to be rented with the purpose of creating babies. This process of embryo transfer to another mother, not necessarily the same woman who had provided the eggs, is known as placing the embryo in a gestational carrier. This procedure has been becoming increasingly common through technological advancement, which has made couples including women with uterus problems, have a chance in having their baby.

Test-tube babies have really brought changes to the way in which babies are conceived and have given much hope to many who have had problems having babies through the process of . However, the downside of this are the ethical issues behind the procedure, with which still poses a big question mark and with which is still opposed by many factions.
