Running a pay per click campaign can be a valuable, fast source of online sales – but it can also cost you a lot of money if you don’t know what you’re doing. Many pay per click newbies do the following:

  • They sign up with a pay per click search engine and start their pay per click campaign.
  • They get lots of traffic, lots of clicks and pay lots of money.
  • They don’t make a single sale.

That’s not how it should go - you can make tons of sales using pay per click advertising. I have several websites that ONLY receive pay per click traffic and they make sales on a consistent basis.

The problem is that you have to know what you’re doing. With that in mind here are 3 quick and easy tips to help you get the most from your pay per click campaign:

Tip #1: Pull Them In With An Attention-Getting, Optimized Title

Your web site title is the first thing the searcher sees. Make sure it matches what your web site offers or else you’ll tick your searchers off - and that’s not a good way to start a potential customer relationship!

(How many times have you been looking for something and clicked on a title only to find a porn site or a get-out-of-debt-fast site…talk about bad Internet etiquette!)

Also, try to put the relevant, most popular keywords in the title. Titles with keywords in them have been proven to get up to 50% more click-throughs.

If you can, write a title that lists a benefit to the customer or evokes curiosity. Titles with benefits will pull more click-throughs than stale, factual titles.

“Shed Pounds Fast With Celebrity Diet Secrets” will always beat “The Diets Of Famous People”. One lists a benefit while evoking curiosity – the second just evokes minor curiosity.

Test different titles and see which ones pull a higher click through rate. You’ll eventually find one or two titles that pull in the most clicks (as well as the most sales) and you’ll probably want to stick with those.

Tip #2: Use Your Description to Pre-quality and Pre-sell

If the searcher gets past the title to the description you’re doing well…but you have to hook them with your description. Again, make sure the description elaborates on the title and tells your searcher EXACTLY what they can expect.

This is also a way you can further ‘pre-qualify’ your traffic. You don’t want to spend money on people who don’t fit your perfect customer criteria so be as specific as possible about what your website offers them.

Don’t just say “A website that sells a variety of cheesecakes” Pre-sell and pre-quality your traffic with a description like:

“Gourmet New York Specialty cheesecakes sold exclusively online. From Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake to Bailey’s Irish Cream Cheesecake. Check out our online catalogue if you want to serve your guests something heavenly!”

Makes your mouth water already doesn’t it? And chances are that someone only looking for a free cheesecake recipe won’t click through so you’ve prequalified your traffic and your conversion rate will go through the roof!

Tip #3: Think ‘Niche’ with your keywords

Unless you are Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig, chances are you can’t afford to spend $5.00 on the word “diet”. That’s ok - you don’t have to.

You can pick up a huge variety of more specific keywords that probably very few pay per click competitors have bid on (for example, what about ‘heart healthy diet’?)

Just make sure to do your homework and remember to get the misspellings people use also.

So those are 3 tips to get the most from your pay per click campaign. By grabbing customers with an attention getting title, prequalifying them with a detailed description and choosing niche keywords, you’re sure to get ready-to-buy traffic for pennies per keyword.

Good luck and may you make millions with your online business!

The Power Supply convert’s your regular household current into low DC voltage used by the computer. When this component fails, there is simply no activity going on wih your computer.Remember to do the easy troubleshooting first.Inspect the Power Supply for any damage.Double-Check all connections.

Learning how to check your power supply and how to replace it when needed can be a life saver if you’re a computer buff or in business with the trusted PC.Don’t take for granted the simple pleasure of turning on your PC and everything works just fine.

We turned on one of our computers recently and in about one hour,it just re-booted itself. And it continued doing so about 10 times a day until we found out the power supply was the culprit.Things to look for when your power supply is going bad or just dies on you are the following.

NO POWER TO THE COMPUTER

Here you must first check the wall outlet for power by connecting another device such as a radio or lamp to be sure power is present. If the computer is connected through a surge protector, check it as well.

If the wall out has power, check the power cable going to the PC to see if AC voltage is making its way to the system unit.Do this with the use of a multimeter.

If there is power, you will have to open the PC and check for power from the power supply to the motherboard.

When using a multimeter to check voltage,be sure you have a good ground for the black lead of the multimeter.

RE-BOOTING PROBLEMS

One main problem you may face with an ailing Power Supply is that it may re-boot the computer without any warning. All information is lost and it seems as though this happens at the worst possible time.

Booting errors when the computer first start’s up is another indicator of this component going on the blink.

POWER DISTRIBUTION PROBLEMS

When the power supply begins to fail, you may receive power at one device and not another. For example, the Hard Drive may receive power but the CDROM Drive has nothing at all.

Another headache with would cause re-booting is the intermittent power going to the drives or the motherboard itself.Follow the steps below to check your power supply should you experience some of the above problems.

CHECKING THE POWER SUPPLY

If the wall outlet, and the power cord are good, make sure the connection at the motherboard is secure. Then you may have to face the fact that the power supply itself is bad.If you have a Multimeter you can test the power supply output before purchasing a new one.Simply follow these steps.

Turn off the PC,but do not unplug it,open the system unit. Set the multimeter to read DC volts in the next range higher than 12 volts.Locate a power connector similair to the hard drive,or cdrom drive connector that is unused and turn on the PC.

You can also unplug a drive connector and use it as well.Turn on the PC and insert the BLACK probe into the power connector on one of the BLACK wires.Touch the RED probe to the YELLOW wire on the power connector.

The multimeter reading should be +12 volts Now touch the RED probe to the RED wire and the reading should be +5 volts. If no readings or different readings occured, you’ll have to replace the power supply. If the readings were correct, you should check the P8 or P9 connectors at the motherboard. These connectors may also be named P4 and P5.To check these connectors, perform the following…

Insert the BLACK probe into P8 at one of the BLACK wires. Insert the RED probe into the P8 connector at the RED wire. The reading on the multimeter should be +5 volts

Check the power going to the Motherboard connections by inserting the RED probe into P8 at the YELLOW wire and you should get +12 volts.Leave the BLACK wire touching the black wire at the P8 connector.Check the BLUE wire and the reading should be a -12 volts.

Now move the BLACK probe to the BLACK wire on the P9 connector.Test the WHITE wire by inserting the RED probe and the reading should be -5 volts.Check the RED wires on the P9 connector and you should get +5 volts on each red wire. You won’t get exactly 5 or 12 volts but the readings will be very close, such as 5.02 volts.

If the Power Supply is a couple of volts off,in either direction, such as when the RED wire should be reading -5 volts but it reads -8 volts,or if there are no readings, replace the power supply.

DO NOT remove the power supply from the system unit case when performing these tests.DO NOT perform these tests if you do not feel comfortable.Be sure to remove any and all electrical static build-up from your clothes and body BEFORE touching any parts inside the system unit. And NEVER open the power supply case for any reason, since high voltage may be present.

With computer hackers and identity thieves getting more computer
literate, the security your computer needs to keep them out has
to always stay at least one step in front. There is a different
type of computer safety tool that detects an attack or system
intrusion before it has the chance to harm your computer. It is
called an IDS or Intrusion Detection System and is another form
of application layer firewall. Intrusion detection systems are
programmed to detect attempted malicious attacks or intrusions
by computer hackers trying to get into your system by detecting
inappropriate, incorrect, or anomalous activity. There does seem
to be some question of how well this system works when many
personal computer users are going to wireless online
connections. Some will argue that with the adoption of intrusion
prevention technologies has created a unique challenge for
security professionals. In order to make this type of system
effective, such monitoring of these devices requires extensive
security expertise and time. If devices are incorrectly tuned
and not regularly updated, attacks of malicious traffic and
intrusions may be permitted. In order to prevent downtime,
security professionals also must continually check on these
devices in order to keep the system running smoothly.

There are three different types of intrusion detection systems.

A host-based Intrusion Detection Systems consists of an agent on
a host that can identify intrusions by analyzing system calls,
application logs, and host activities. Network Intrusion
Detection System is an independent platform that identifies
intrusions by examining network traffic and monitors multiple
hosts. These gain access to network traffic by connecting to a
hub, network switch configured for port mirroring, or network
tap.

Hybrid Intrusion Detection Systems combine both approaches and
the host agent data is combined with network information to form
a complete view of the network.

A Signature-Based Intrusion Detection System can identify
intrusions by watching for patterns of traffic or application
data presumed to be malicious. These systems are able to detect
only known attacks, but depending on their rule set, signature
based IDS’s can sometimes detect new attacks which share
characteristics with old attacks.

Anomaly-Based Intrusion Detection Systems identify intrusions by
notifying operators of traffic or application content presumed
to be different from normal activity on the network or host.
Anomaly-Based Intrusion Detection Systems typically achieve this
with self-learning.

A Signature-Based Intrusion Detection System identifies
intrusions by watching for patterns of traffic or application
data presumed to be malicious. These type of systems are
presumed to be able to detect only ‘known’ attacks. However,
depending on their rule set, signature-based IDSs can sometimes
detect new attacks which share characteristics with old attacks,
e.g., accessing ‘cmd.exe’ via a HTTP GET request.

An Anomaly-Based Intrusion Detection System identifies
intrusions by notifying operators of traffic or application
content presumed to be different from ‘normal’ activity on the
network or host. Anomaly-based IDSs typically achieve this with
self-learning.

Features and Benefits The Managed Intrusion Prevention Service
includes:

Configure and provision device

Create initial policy; update and tune policy on an ongoing basis

Monitor and report on health and security events 24×7

Industry leading Service Level Agreement

Report all security events on the Client Resource Portal

Flexible reporting options on Client Resource Portal

Notify customers of major security and health issues

Whether used for detection or prevention, Intrusion SecureNet
technology is peerless in accurately detecting attacks and
proactively reporting indicators of future information loss or
service interruption. Using pattern matching for performance and
protocol decoding to detect intentional evasion and polymorphic
or patternless attacks, as well as protocol and network
anomalies before a new attack has a signature created, the
SecureNet System is ideal for protecting critical networks and
valuable information assets.

Spyware is more dangerous than a virus. It can steal personal data and track your internet habits. It might be concealed in a free screensaver or other software that you download. Computer safety expert Leif Wheeler advises us to be aware of any offer of free software. Many times, spyware is hidden in legitimate software. Be cautious of deals offered by well-known companies. Crooks and thieves often create web sites that resemble Adobe, Google or Microsoft, says Wheeler. They instruct you to download upgrades which secretly contain spyware. Common sense should tell you to download things like screensavers or wallpaper only from a company’s registered web site. Have a safety talk with anyone who uses your computer. Run an anti-spyware application. The schemes for stealing are the same, notes Wheeler. What’s changed is the technology. The rest of us have to try to stay one step ahead.

There is a type of spyware that the New York Times has labeled as “Stealware” and what spyware researcher Ben Edelman refers to as “Click Fraud”, also known as “Affiliate Fraud”. The most notable vendors of this kind of spyware are 180 Solutions and WhenU. This spyware redirects the payment of the rightful affiliate’s commission to the account of the spyware vendor.

An instance of spyware rarely “exists” alone. An afflicted computer can rapidly become corrupted with a lot of spyware devices. Frequently, users will notice erratic behavior and a decline of the system’s operation. Spyware contamination can cause considerable inappropriate CPU activity, network traffic, disk usage and the slowing-down of the legitimate uses of these resources. Stability issues, system crashes and application crashes are also very common. Spyware which disrupts the networking software normally causes problems connecting to the Internet.

A Trojan horse, by definition, sneaks in a danger-some program cloaked as something acceptable. Many spywares get spread in this way. The representative of the spyware presents the program as a suitable utility, for example, as useful software or as a web-accelerator. Users then install the software not suspecting that it could do harm to their computer. A classic case of this is Bonze Buddy, a spyware application designed to trick children, claims that: “He will explore the Internet with you as your very own friend and sidekick! He can talk, walk, joke, browse, search, e-mail, and download like no other friend you’ve ever had! He even has the ability to compare prices on the products you love and help you save money! Best of all, he’s FREE!”

Often times, spyware programs are revealed by visibly presenting advertisements. Some spyware simply displays pop-up ads on a pre-determined schedule. For example, a pop-up may appear when the user opens a new browser window. Yet other types display ads when the user visits a specific type of site. Spyware developers use this as a selling point when pitching their wares to advertisers who want to buy ad placement in pop-ups shown when the user lands on a particular site. It is also one of the reasons why spyware programs collect and store information on user behavior.

Around 8 years ago I received an email from my employer informing me, that I must use hands free kit when using my mobile phone within my line of work. Of course they were not Blue tooth in those days, a thin wire stretched from my mobile phone to an earpiece that was permanently stuck in my ear for 10 hours a day. The email was in response to health fears that mobile phones could contribute or cause brain cancer, of course the email was my companies attempt to remove any chance of future claims.
Are mobile phones safe is an argument that has been printed within the national newspapers and spoken about on TV news and debate programmes almost daily.

With was great surprise that I read in the UK newspapers January this year that mobile phones are in fact safe. This is not just an opinion, but research from the universities of Leeds, Manchester and the Institute of Cancer research in London. They claim that those who regularly use mobile phones where not at greater risk of developing glioma the most common type of brain cancer.

There was a link from those who developed glioma in relation to the side of the head and where that person would normally hold a phone. However the researchers believed that those who had developed cancer had made their own link to where they were holding the phone.

There was still some concerns though, that it may take up to 30 years of mobile phone usage or statistics to fully decide any dangers they may be. The research was also part funded by the 5 UK service providers which have cited comments that the research would favour these providers.

What is true though, is that the debate is going to continue for some time to come. In fact if 30 years is a true calculation, I calculate about another 15 years of coverage. Mobile phone manufacturers and service providers wanting positive press and the sceptics and scaremongers delivering their relevant slant on what is yet not proven, and the newspapers charging us for newspaper stories based on the same old theme.

Researching this theme on the Internet I found 330 articles dated over the years from one newspaper website alone, with only 2 of these articles suggesting mobile phones are safe. You would think without a clear answer on the subject, we would all be bored of the subject, but clearly the press still deem this to be newsworthy.

We may able to get good mobile phone deals nowadays but I don’t think we are getting a good deal from the press and researchers on real facts and not speculation.

I continue life with my now blue tooth hands free stuck to my ear for 10 hours a day or so, and it shall stay there until someone can put this debate to end once and for all.

Having gone out with with literally thousands of women and gone
to bed with hundreds over the past two and a half decades, I’ve
learned that there’s nothing you can do to GUARANTEE having sex
with any particular woman.

However, by doing a few simple things, you can dramatically
INCREASE THE ODDS of going all the way on the very first night
of your relationship.

1. Meet her in a non-traditional venue.

By that I mean, don’t take her to a fancy dinner or do anything
else that she associates with a “date.” If you do, that puts her
into the same “make him wait” mindset that she adopted with the
last 100 guys who bought her a nice dinner.

Instead meet her somewhere informal, like a coffee shop or some
cheap diner for lunch. Don’t make a big deal out of who pays for
what, because again, the last 100 guys she dated paid for her
meal because, as was blatantly obvious to her, they were hoping
to get laid.

As an alpha male, you shouldn’t do anything because you’re
“hoping to get laid.” That reeks of desperation and kills
attraction that a woman feels.

A more attractive guy is one who gets laid all the time, so sex
is no big deal to him. If a woman wants his attention, she has
to earn it. In other words, he is a challenge for her, not a
sure thing.

2. Have the proper mindset throughout the date.

You want to be relaxed and feeling sexual. (To get yourself into
a sexual state, try watching porn just before the date, but
don’t masturbate.) And it’s important to feel relaxed. No
nervousness.

For a woman to become sexual, she needs to feel relaxed and
horny. It is important that you feel that exact way yourself,
because studies have shown that when two people are in rapport,
they eventually match emotional states with each other.

So when you’re chilling with the girl, you should feel deeply
relaxed and horny, and then engage her in conversation about
neutral subjects until you see signs that she too is getting
relaxed and horny.

3. Get her alone with you.

Let’s say you and the girl hit it off fantastically in the
coffee shop, so you then take her to a bar to get a quick drink.
Things are really going well there. The conversational vibe is
excellent. You see signs of her increasing sexual arousal and
openness to intimacy.

Some signs of a woman’s deepening sexual attraction to you
include: - Sitting with her inner thigh exposed. - Fidgeting
with her clothes. She might even unfasten a button or two of her
blouse. - She engages in “triangle gazing.” She’ll look at one
of your eyes, then another, and then at your mouth. - You notice
her stealing glimpses at your chest and even your crotch.

The problem is you can’t just say, “Let’s go to my place and
have sex.” With women you’re on a first date with, whenever you
verbalize anything sexual, it kills the mood for her and results
in you sleeping alone that night.

Instead, mention an innocent excuse for the two of you to go to
your place. (Examples could be, “You should come hear my ‘Best
of the 80s’ CD” or “That’s awesome that you’re so good with
art… I have a painting in my living room that I’d love to get
your opinion on”)

Since the two of you have an “innocent” reason to be alone
together, it avoids triggering the alarm bells in her mind that
scream, “Uh oh! I don’t want to be a slut!”

Once the two of you are then alone, isolated at your place, you
can set the scene for the seduction.

It can take several hours for the woman to feel comfortable
enough with you at your house, so you need to be patient.

Sit on your couch and watch a movie. Slowly escalate. Hold
hands, stroke her hair, and so on from there.

Sexually, women are like irons. They heat up slowly. Keep that
in mind and don’t rush things, and you’ll have your maximum shot
at having sex on a first date.

This is a fast, easy way to make some free molds for concrete, hypertufa, plaster, etc.

First decide what you want to copy. It must be something that can be painted with Acetone without melting. An example would be a brick or rock.

Now get some of that blue or pink rigid foam insulation. You should try to get the 2 inch thick stuff if you want your mold to last. To begin just get whatever you can. Sometimes you can pick up a couple of scraps at construction sites for free.

Clean your rock and be sure it is dry. This is important; water and acetone do not mix!

Put your insulation on the table, and next to it put your rock with the side you want to copy facing up. Paint the rock with Acetone and VERY quickly place it on the foam. When it has sunk in an inch or two pull it out.

Wait a while for the foam to harden up, and there is your mold!!

Paint on some mold release (also known as 10w engine oil). Try not to have any puddles; they will cause holes in the concrete.

You may have to play with this a bit to get the feel of painting and sinking your rock, but it works!!
