I’ve been toying around with this technique that I call “Web Spinning” for a while now and it has been working wonders for me, plus I’ve had quite a bit of fun during the process… I think you will too. This is how it works:

Spiders spin their web in order to catch their pray, and once their web is spun, they simply sit back and collect food. What you are going to do the same thing in a collective sense, you can think of your reputation as your “web”, and the larger (well known) and better your web is, the more women you will attract.

This is quite simple to do, and all you need to do in order to start spinning your “web” is find one attractive women that has many friends and get her to think that you are an attractive guy. From that moment on, each time you are introduced to one of her friends you will be spinning your web larger, but you can not enter into an intimate relationship with ANY of them, because once you do, your web will cease to spin.

The idea is to be introduced to her friends, introduced to their friends, and so on until your web is so large that you’ll have your pick of 30+ women. This may take months… but here is the beauty of it:

Each time you are introduced to a new girl, she will be attracted to you regardless of what she would think if she met you on her own, because women’s opinions have a heavy… and I mean heavy impact on their friend’s opinions… if one girl says your hot, than that gives every other girls the green light to get with you. The ONLY reason that women usually do not get with men they do not find attractive is because are afraid of what other people will say, especially their friends, so if they are told by their friends that you are attractive before they even meet you (which will happen almost every time), when they finally do hang out with you they will only see your best features because they will not be looking at you objectively.

This is the reason why you should not start a relationship with any of these women… flirt with them all, even make them jealous, but do not even kiss one of them. You want to keep them all in competition mode, and the longer you wait before you stop spinning your web, the more they will want you, and the harder they will try.

Once one of the women views you as “theirs”, you can bet they will bring out the tanks and flame throwers to defend you, thus your web stops spinning. Plus you will now be viewed as “her man” and you will be looked at objectively by each new girl that you meet instead of having that automatic attraction. The best part about this is that once you are finished spinning your web and decide to date one of these girls, after you stop seeing her you can now pick from any of the other women that are in your web… you can literally do this until you’ve slept with every single one of them!

*NOTE* This is not for the faint of heart, because by doing this you will most definitely break up some friendships… however, most women go through friends like they go through shoes… so it’s all good.

As more and more people are getting aware of the importance of securing their houses by using the various home security products different companies are launching new home security products everyday. It’s a new market, yet the number of options available in each category of home security products can be overwhelming for the starters. Well, here is some good news, this article was written just for you and it summarizes some of the best home security products which you could use to make your house a safer place and reduce chance of burglaries and break-ins.

The best, and sometimes most effective home security products in preventing burglary, is just a signboard saying that your house is protected by this and that securitization system. Such a strategy is not effective in catching the criminal but researchers found it to be very effecting in preventing a crime in the first place. Most of the home security products generally come with such a signboard but they are mostly small or may not be visible in the background of your house, so you might consider buying one specially customized for your house. A similar product is the dummy camera for those on a tight budget. Installing a dummy camera on a very visible location outside your house might discourage the burglars right away as they might not want to risk entering your camera protected property.

Preventive measures are good for “preventing” but sometimes the preventive home security products aren’t just good enough so you’ll need some actual home security products to completely safe guard your house. Alarms and cameras are the most commonly used home security product today, the two can be used separately or together for enhanced safety. Alarms generally go off when someone tries to force entry through windows or doors, make sound and try to attract your neighbor’s attention, while some can be linked with an alarm monitoring system which can notify the authorities after a routine check for accidental alarm.

For those who can afford high end products and need additional safety there are home security products like talking devices, master control panel, sensors, motion detectors, key pads, back up power supply for the home security products and so on.

The Price is Right.

Once upon a time you knew precisely where you stood. You were, metaphorically speaking, peering over the shoulder of the venerable Arthur Negus, denizen of that epitome of middle class culture, The Antiques Roadshow. Now, however, you’re turning this way and that, amidst a plethora of antiques discovery programmes, as you seek to satisfy your voyeuristic craving and perhaps learn a little something as you go.

Life used to be very simple in the antique firmament on TV. Its first airing was Going for a Song in 1965, so ancient a time that England had yet to win the World Cup and I was still in short trousers, in a programme memorably described as a

“Pooterish pottery riddleathon, chaired in its glory days by Max Robertson with Arthur Negus stapled to one side for a bit of gossip. Max would then proffer a vaguely familiar looking antique loom at teams of experts and a clueless public, demanding both date and asking price. Points were awarded for the closest bid.”

That won’t ring too many bells with today’s protagonists, by all accounts. This was an age in which most educated people were expected to have a routine general knowledge of art, antiques and collecting because it suggested some hint of engagement and appreciation of the world around them. Of course, the clueless public were a convenient prop to the cardsharps around them but the scenario hasn’t deviated too far over the last forty years. Having said that, presenters could always be relied upon in yesteryear to wear a jacket and tie and a sensible haircut – this was the BBC after all – so one wasn’t confronted, as is our current misfortune, by a bunch of D listers swathed in Hawaiian tee shirts and an all over tan.

Yet the extraordinary thing is that these programmes – and, believe me, there are plenty of them – have such enduring appeal. The antiques themselves obviously play their part but the real key is the human dimension and, without exception, it is a feature of all the latter day productions that the viewing public are encouraged to make contact and tell their stories. However, whereas The Antiques Roadshow was deliberately more formal in its approach, more recent entrants are positively gushing. The three best examples of this new genre are Flog It, Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic, each of which, like The Antiques Roadshow, have spawned some very ugly American hatchlings. More of that anon.

Back here, we have David Dickinson, full of grandiloquent gestures and gravelly tones, hosting Bargain Hunt. Dickinson, notwithstanding that he loves the sound of his own voice, has certainly done the rounds and knows his stuff unlike the motley crew from Cash in the Attic who look like cast offs from a lifestyle channel. Bargain Hunt is not designed to be too successful but just give a taste of what could be achieved with a good eye and a judicious approach though, as ever, it is most watchable when confronted by the unexpected. One contestant so successfully bought and sold a copper log box that Dickinson, momentarily speechless, had to dispatch a crew member to an ATM to cough up enough cash when he ran short. Priceless!

Synopsis: A Linear Scale is used to provide a feedback of
the displacement of any axis on a machine. The linear scale
consists of two parts i.e. a) Scale which consists of a Glass or
metallic plate with gratings on it, enclosed in a extruded
channel usually made of aluminum. b) Scanner, which generates
electrical signals when there is a displacement between the
scale and scanner.

The scanner consists of signal processing electronics, which
conditions the pulses generated for further processing by a CNC
or other control and display electronics. Usually the scanner
has all the electric connections and there is no connection to
the scale.

Two ways of Fixing a Scale to a Slide: Whenever a
scale/scanner combination is fixed to a linear slide, one of
them is connected to a moving part, and the other to the
stationary base of the slide.

Setting personal boundaries are like identifying the gates in our invisible fence lines which protects the precious heart and soul inside our bodies. Many people look at boundaries as walls, but rather when we establish healthy boundaries it provides a way to distinguish what we choose to let in and let out. They form flexible gates, not stationary walls It is important to learn about setting healthy boundaries so we can make decisions about what is and what isn’t permissible in all relationships.

Boundaries are valuable

All relationships work more harmoniously when the participants know what to expect and what is expected of them. Being kind, but firm when stating what you need from a relationship allows the other person to reciprocate. How other people act and think often has nothing to do with you, but rather with their own perceptions. You can only take care of yourself.

It doesn’t matter how elaborate the fencing and eloquent our statements are, if we don’t honor ourselves enough to draw the line and stick to it consistently. It is just as valuable to the other person that they learn how to be with you and what the guidelines are for the relationship.

Body Language and tone of voice

Verbal communication is the language of information and only 20 % is absorbed. Body language and tone of voice is the language of relationships and 80% is remembered. Make sure you appear confident and you speak with a neutral, calm and non-accusing tone when establishing your boundaries. Use “I” statements which reflect on how things affect you, rather than “you” statements which put people on the defensive.

4 Step model for setting boundaries

1. Calmly inform the other person by stating, “I feel uncomfortable and want to shut down when you yell at me.”

2. Request that they honor your boundary. “I ask that you talk to me without yelling.” Or ..For me to listen and hear what you are saying to me, I need to you speak to me in a calm voice without yelling.

3. Insist that they honor your boundary, again with a firm but kind voice, “I insist that when we are talking we talk in calm voices.”

4. Leave the situation. Now is not the time or place to continue communicating with someone who refuses to respect your boundaries. Leave the door open to talk later in a more respectful manner. Continue to maintain a calm but firm voice and say, “I will not continue this conversation in this way. I welcome an opportunity to talk with you without yelling or screaming at another time. Let me know if you decide to visit without raised voices.”

Don’t take it personally

You can not assume responsibility for other people’s feelings, agendas or methods of communication. You can only state how you desire to be treated in life. If there are old patterns, it may take some time to convince others that you are serious about sticking to your boundaries. Everyone has the right to be treated with respect and courtesy.

People you know may be surprised at first when you tell them they have crossed the line, but will respect you more in the end. Hopefully, they will model this communication style and it will make for more honest and open relationships for all.

With the variety of sewing machines available, making a decision of which sewing machine to purchase is much more complex than it was way back when…..

Today’s quilters are presented with some interesting and fun options that can make their quilting more interesting and relaxing.

Many of the more popular brands, including Singer, Simplicity, Janome, Brother, White and Necci sewing machines feature an LCD display, dial-a-stitch selector, automatic needle threader, convertible free arm, extension table, electronic speed control, drop in bobbin, and computerized stitch selection, to name just a few. These machines sew not only straight stitches, but zig zag, button hole, and fancy embroidery stitches.

Several sewing machine companies cater to the quilting market by including speed adjustments to make machine quilting easier. The White 1740 Quilter’s Machine has an extra wide extension bed to support your work, and reduce pulling and stretching. The Simplicity American Quilter sewing machine features a convertible free-arm and snap-on presser foot. All of that and they are lightweight, too – so you can easily transport your machine to your quilting class.

In addition to regular sewing machines, there are sergers and longarm quilting machines to consider.

Prices for sewing machines range from around $100 up to, well, in the thousands.

All of these choices are wonderful, yet how to decide.

Before making your purchase, you should decide how you will use your machine, and whether you might want more than one machine. Those decisions can be made within the context of your budget and lifestyle, in addition to your commitment to quilting and the type of quilting you will be doing.

If you are going to be using your machine only for machine piecing quilt tops, and not doing any machine quilting or fancy stitching, a fairly simple sewing machine will likely serve your needs. If you are going to purchase only one machine and are planning to take it to quilting classes with you, weight and bulk may be a consideration. In addition, it may be important for the machine to come with a carrying case; and possibly space in the carrying case for some sewing supplies.

If you are planning to machine piece your quilt tops and machine quilt the completed project, a heavier duty machine with the power to glide through multiple layers of fabric and batting would be a better choice. In addition, you may want to look for a machine that offers a “walking foot,” or something similar, or possibly even built into the machine. This feature will feed the quilt top, batting and quilt backing evenly through the machine as the quilt is stitched, reducing puckering and unsightly folds.

Another consideration if you will be doing much machine quilting is to purchase a sewing machine that is ideal for machine piecing, and a separate longarm machine just for machine quilting. In the past, these machines were designed and priced for the professional market. As with many things, the technology has improved, demand has increased, and now longarm quilting machines are more of an option for home quilters.

Once you have decided how you will use your machine and what features are important to you, the next step is to ponder the particular brands available. Price is not always a determination of quality, so a visit to a local sewing machine store – whether it is the community Sew and Vac, a Walmart, Sears, or something else – where you can “test drive” the machines might be the next order of business.

Trying several different brands with different features will give you an idea of what you prefer. A conversation with a sewing machine repair person will give you a hint about brands that need a lot of service and those which last years with just a yearly tune up.

Once you have narrowed it down to a particular brand or two, and know which features are important, the next step is to do some research on price and availability. The internet offers some great choices for saving money – eBay, overstock.com, PriceGrabber.com, etc. While these sources offer good savings, they may not provide a guarantee or the service you may want for your machine. If your local Sew and Vac will service the machine once you have it, the price savings may prove worthwhile.

Used sewing machines may also be a consideration. Some of the older machines are in excellent condition and offer features not found on current machines. Singer Featherweight sewing machines from the 40s and 50s are still popular with quilters. These little machines are like the Energizer Bunny – they just keep going and going. They are lightweight and simple. Some have attachments, many just sew forward and backward and are perfect for machine piecing. Keep them oiled and they will last many lifetimes!

Wouldn’t it be nice if the decision were easier, and you could just “call Sears” and order the machine? On the other hand, isn’t it fantastic that the quilting days of 75 years ago are behind us and we can now create quilts using technology that encourages our creativity!

You’ve laid out good money for your laptop computer, but you’re not done spending just yet.

There are a few more laptop accessories you may want to consider to make the package complete.

1: Laptop Case / Bag

As the newest member of the mobile computing force, you’re required to take an oath of safe computing.

And that starts with investing in the most important of laptop accessories - a laptop bag. You can’t very well go traipsing around the world with your laptop exposed to the elements.

When it comes to laptop bags, you can spend $25 for a small case made from less expensive materials on up to several hundred dollars for one made of top-grain cowhide.

However, in the end, the most important consideration is whether your case can hold your laptop, plus all the other goodies that go with it (like the ones described here).

2: Software

Did your laptop come with software? If so, did it come with the right software - the software you actually need to perform whatever tasks you need to perform?

Don’t just assume you have everything you need. You’ll probably need to add some software, as well as go online to update the software that was included.

3: A Real USB Mouse

Trackpads and eraser nubs that fill an obvious need. However, given the option, most people would rather user a real mouse.

If you stop and think for a moment, you’re likely to realize that many places where you’ll be computing actually are suitable for a real mouse.

So one of the most useful laptop accessories you can buy is a USB mouse, keep it in your bag, and use it whenever you’re able.

4: A Cat5 Ethernet Cable

Your built-in Ethernet port won’t do you much good if you get to your hotel room, discover an Ethernet connection, and don’t have a cable. Some hotels provide them; others don’t. Always come prepared with the right cable.

5: A Standard Telephone Cable

The same holds true for your modem connection. If you don’t have a cable to get you from your computer to the phone jack, you’re not going anywhere in cyberspace.

6: Disposable Cleansing Cloths

Over time, the display on your laptop is going to get dusty, or even smudgy. You’re playing Russian roulette with your laptop if you attempt to clean your display with paper towels and spray cleaners.

Instead, use disposable cleansing cloths. These essential laptop accessories are designed specifically to clean laptop displays. Always have a stash on hand.

7: USB Drive

A USB drive is a storage device about the size of your thumb that plugs directly into a USB port.

Capacity-wise, they’re relatively small - usually well under 100 MB. However, they’re very useful for moving files quickly and easily from one computer to another, e.g., moving a PowerPoint presentation from your laptop to your business associate’s laptop.

A USB drive also makes a great temporary backup medium for the really important files you create on the road.

8: Blank CD-R Discs

You’ve just finished your big sales presentation. Someone from the audience approaches you afterward and asks for a copy of the presentation.

You’ll make a better impression if you:

a) ask the person for their email address and tell them you’ll email the presentation later

b) ask for their physical address and tell them you’ll mail a CD later

c) burn them a CD of the presentation on the spot.

In case you didn’t figure it out, the answer is c. Always be prepared with these inexpensive laptop accessories.

9: Stereo Headset

It’s great to be able to watch DVD movies no matter where you are. Imagine watching your favorite flick at 30,000 feet.

There’s just one problem.

The family in the row behind you has absolutely no interest in hearing the dialog from Pulp Fiction.

Do yourself and everyone around you a favor. When you’re watching movies or listening to music in public, use your headphones.

10: Security Device

Laptop security devices come in many shapes and sizes.

For example, most laptops include a security dock that allows you to attach your laptop to some immovable object via cable, much like you’d lock up your bicycle outside the grocery store.

The following are the items most often at risk.

* Thieves can steal your sensitive personal and business data.

* Harmful viruses and worms can infiltrate your network, even evading your anti-virus software.

* Hackers can hijack your Wi-Fi to spam or attack others - and you could be liable.

If you don’t want your network to fall victim to snooping or people ‘borrowing’ your bandwidth, then you’re going to need to lock down your network. Luckily for you, all wireless technology has encryption built in — it’s just a matter of turning it on.

WEP Vs. WPA.

Security on wireless networks does have a flaw, though — there are two completely incompatible standards, which makes it a pain to set up a whole network to use encryption.

How did this happen? Well, WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) was the original standard for encryption over 802.11 wireless networks. Back in 2001, though, a research paper was published called ‘Weaknesses in the Key Scheduling Algorithm of RC4′. This paper demonstrated critical flaws in the security of WEP that made it trivial for someone to break into, if they wanted to.

Essentially, it is too easy to discover the secret ‘key’ used for WEP, and once you have the key, you can get into the network and stay in for as long as you want. People quickly recognised that it was almost useless to use WEP on their network — but by the time its weaknesses were discovered, the WEP method was built into almost every piece of wireless equipment out there.

The WEP standard had to be replaced, and in 2003 WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) was introduced as its replacement, fixing most of its flaws. WPA is much more secure than WEP. Unfortunately, though, WPA took a long time to reach the market, and WPA devices were expensive when they were released. Combine this with the fact that WEP is still the default in a lot of software (because it’s supported by more devices), and you end up in the confused situation we’re in today.

Always Use WPA

If you’re going to enable encryption, always use WPA. Devices bought after 2003 or so should be compatible with it, as the upgrade was made a mandatory part of the standard.

It is true that WEP is better than nothing — it will, at least, deter the casual intruder, who won’t try any more than double-clicking to get onto your network. WEP can also make you less of a target for wardrivers, since there will be so many completely open networks that they might as well use instead. However, it’s silly to use WE nowadays when WPA is so easily available.

Turning on Encryption

Turning on encryption in Windows isn’t too difficult, but it does involve quite a lot of clicking — no wonder so few people bother.

The first step is to turn on encryption for your wireless router or access point. The exact method for this will vary between devices, but you can usually do it by visiting the router or access point’s configuration page in your web browser, finding the encryption settings, and then choosing WPA. If you have any trouble, refer to your manual.

Once you’ve done that, you need to change the encryption settings on your computers. Open the ‘View Available Wireless Networks’ screen by right-clicking on your wireless connection in the bottom-right of the screen and choosing it from the menu that appears. Then click ‘Change advanced settings’. Go to the Wireless Networks section of this box, click your network’s name, and then click Properties.

Now, where it says ‘Network authentication’, select WPA. Click OK on everything you’ve opened. Once you’ve done that — this is the really fun part — you’re going to have to do it for every computer on your network!

It’s Easier for New Networks

While the process is quite troublesome for existing networks, it’s much easier for ones that haven’t been set up yet. You’ll still need to turn on encryption at the wireless router or access point, but once you’ve done that you can set up encryption as you set up the network using the Wireless Network Setup Wizard.

Unfortunately (and stupidly) Windows now turns on WEP by default when you set up your wireless network. This means that each time you go through the wizard, you need to remember to tick the box on the third screen that says ‘Use WPA encryption instead of WEP’. Still, it’s easier than changing the settings manually later on.
