Spring is the season when the crops are planted. The soil is receptive to new seeds, and the sun shines more hours per day, sharing its life-giving energy.

Now is the time for us to plant new kernels in our consciousness. Planting is the first step in harvesting. What you sow, so shall you reap.

When we plant our seed-thoughts, we are using our conscious mind.
We have both a conscious and a subconscious mind. The subconscious mind does not think for itself. It must take what we give it to work with. The subconscious mind contains our automatic beliefs and feelings that we are largely unaware of. The subconscious uses these automatic beliefs in an unending cycle until WE plant different thoughts and beliefs into it. (That explains why we may seem to be in repeating pattern of money troubles or failed relationships.)

The subconscious mind can only receive. The conscious mind,
however, has the power of Selection and Initiation. (Emmet Fox
calls it Clarity and Interest.) And as we think about planting new seeds in this season of Spring, keep in mind this concept of
Selection and Initiation.

Selection is the power to think whatever we want, whenever we want. No one governs our thoughts but us. No one thinks for us. Whether we realize it or not, we select every single thought we think. Now we may have the same habitual thought, over and over. But we were the ones to select that thought for the very first time. After that, we just let our subconscious keep that thought alive and creating our experiences. We have become accepting and numb and unconscious to that thought.

If we want to live consciously, we take back our awareness and
shake off the numbness. We select new thoughts with INTENTION. We
select thoughts that are good for us; thoughts that make us
healthy, happy, loving, wealthy. Only our conscious mind can select a new thought.

Secondly, we must initiate that new thought. Let’s say we have a
desire to change things at work. There have been some rough
patches, and now we want things to be different. We have selected a new thought: “I am a success in my work.” (Notice the use of the “I am”.) With this thought, we have taken the
first step in breaking the subconscious pattern of problems at
work. Great! Now what? We must initiate that new thought.

Initiation is like giving momentum to your thought. With selection, it just sits there. With initiation, you give it a gentle, kind shove in the right direction. To initiate the new thought of “I am a success in my work,” you may decide to notice more of the “little” successes you have at work. You may take notice of a problem you solved that troubled you or a co-worker. You may take more pride in your work. You may put more effort into a job well done instead of just doing what you can get by with. You may start broadening your very definition of success. You may support your new thought with other thoughts and feelings of being really good at your job; of, dare I say, liking your job. You build upon and build upon your original selection. This is how you create a new consciousness for something.

And at some point in this process, there will be an acceptance that you are a success before you even see evidence of that. You have created the success in your mind, which is exactly where it needs to be created. At that point, you can relax. You have planted the seed. Don’t go digging it up to see if roots have formed! Continue to water with supportive thoughts and feelings, but let the Law of the Universe take care of the sprouting and growth.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

You will reap what you have sowed. Sow something wonderful!

Securing your home in case of emergencies such as thieves and other intruders is a good idea, no matter whether you live in a stand alone home or an apartment. One of the easiest ways to protect your premises is to use surveillance cameras, strategically placed around your home based on the amount of space you have. These systems can be purchased with as many cameras as you might need, and are available in wireless or wired formats.

For most home surveillance equipment users, wireless models will be the way to go. They are easy to hook up and easy to mount, and you will cut down on the amount of floor space used by tangle-prone wires. The signal for wireless cameras will be sent to a receiver, which will be hooked up to whatever equipment you are using to monitor the premises.

How many cameras you buy will depend, of course, on the size of your home or if you have anything of particular value in a specific room. If you want maximum security, you will want to mount cameras on the entrances to your living space, including the windows, as well as the garage and driveway, at a minimum. Additional rooms containing valuable equipment or pieces of furniture should also have a mounted camera for added security.

All the security cameras in the world are useless, of course, without a monitoring system. You need to decide if your security camera system is to be utilized in the prevention of theft or to assist in the recovery of property. Most thieves and other criminals will be deterred by the mere sight of a camera on the premises, despite movie depictions of crack shot take-outs of security cameras. The mere presence of the camera, then may serve to protect your home.

If maximum security is what you require, then you or someone you know will need to be monitoring your system throughout the day. Larger homes of wealthy families may be able to employ security guards around the clock, but for most of us the purpose of the surveillance equipment will be to aid in recovery. Make sure that your monitoring equipment is always on and that you either reset the tape manually or have the system set to reset itself.

Home surveillance equipment can do nothing to prevent loss of property on its own. Without proper utilization and monitoring, your surveillance equipment is only a drain on your resources. Take the time to install your cameras properly, checking the angel to make sure they cover all of the points of entry or objects you want watched to a high degree in terms of parameters. Cameras which track motion or otherwise can swing to encompass a wide area are great options, although they may give the location of the camera away. Again, however, it is important to remember that most ne’er do wells will be deterred from their sinister purposes towards your property by simply being aware that the cameras are there.

The Settlers of Catan has been the flagship for German Style Designer Games for many reasons, some of the main ones being its elegant simplicity and its depth of strategy. Your choice of strategies will influence your initial setup and overall game play. The separation of strategies that are outlined in this series is a bit artificial, but it is useful to understand the concepts behind them. In practice, players will use a combination of these strategies during gameplay. This article, the third in this series, will discuss the Rare Resource Strategy.

In the Rare Resource Strategy, examine the board to see which commodity will be the hardest to get, and consider putting one of your settlements on the best tile for that commodity. A supply of a rare commodity may be more important than an extra 2/36 chance of a sheep.

Basically, this strategy is about identifying the rarest resources, and making sure you have access to them. There are two types of rare: rare in overall production (due to bad numbers being on them), and rare in position availability (fewer number of hexes have the resource, like ore and brick in the basic game, which only has three hexes each instead of four hexes like wool, grain, and wood). In many cases both will happen, such as when ore and brick have bad numbers on them in the basic game.

This strategy is not a monopoly: you don’t necessarily want to be the only person on these hexes (as seen in the Monopoly strategy in Part 4, this may not be such a good idea). You just want to make sure you have them. This could be taken to the extreme, for example a player who goes for ore and brick, because they are the two rarest, but is more commonly used along with another strategy. This strategy can work well with a Cartel strategy, described in Part 4.

The crux of this strategy is realizing that you will pay dearly for rare resources later on in the game, and so you should plan ahead by getting them early. A reduced overall production value early in the game to get those rare resources is usually more than offset by not making 3:1 or 4:1 trades later in the game to get them.

For more information about the game, please visit the author’s Settlers of Catan fansite. This series is based upon the Settlers of Catan Strategy and Tactics Guide, which is located at http://settlersofcatan.blogspot.com

THE FEAR OF FEELING
By Margaret Paul, Ph.D.

We desire to find the path to peace, joy and freedom. We strive to feel lovable, worthy and secure. We know that if we do our inner work and open to our connection with Spirit, we will feel all of that. Yet we don’t. We put it off for days or weeks. We stay stuck in our misery or numbness. Why? What are we so afraid of if we open to learning about loving?

I have searched for many years for the answer to this question. Over and over I would find myself out of grace and joy and into anxiety and stress. Each time it was because I failed to take care of myself in some way.

The problem is that all feelings are in the same box. Pain is in the same box as joy. We cannot be putting a lid on pain without putting a lid on joy as well.

What is the pain we are striving so hard to avoid feeling? Most people feel a lot of pain. We feel anxious, frightened, depressed, hurt. Since we are often in pain, it doesn’t seem to make sense that we are, at the same time as we are feeling all this pain, also avoiding pain. Yet that is exactly what we are doing.

As unhappy as we may be feeling, we are avoiding pain that we believe is even greater than the pain we are feeling.

I have discovered that there are three feelings which most people want to avoid at all cost: aloneness, loneliness and helplessness.

Aloneness is what we feel inside when we are disconnected from God. Loneliness is what we feel when we cannot connect with another, either because our heart is closed, their heart is closed, or both of our hearts are closed. Helplessness is what we would feel if, when we want to connect with another and his or her heart is closed, we accept that there is nothing we can do to make them open their heart. Helplessness is what we feel when we accept our lack of control over others.

When we were babies and small children, we couldn’t allow ourselves to feel these feelings. We could not have handled them and may have died of despair. So we learned
many protections to avoid feeling these feelings.

The problem is that we still think we will die if we feel these feelings, so we are still avoiding them. We avoid connecting with God for fear God will not be there and we will feel alone. We get angry, withdraw, eat, drink, take drugs, watch TV, get busy, overwork and so on to avoid feeling the pain of our loneliness and helplessness.

Yet loneliness in our society is unavoidable. There are so many people who spend their lives with their hearts closed to avoid their pain that it is impossible not to be around people whose hearts are closed some of the time. If we choose to avoid feeling our loneliness and helplessness, then we too will close our heart. However, when we close our heart we close down the joy too. Then we are stuck with the anxiety, fear, depression and hurt that is endemic in our society.

You will not die if you open to feeling your loneliness and helplessness. It is even quite tolerable if you hold your lonely Inner Child (your feeling self) while bringing through love from Spirit, for then you are not alone in your loneliness. The willingness to feel the pain of loneliness and helplessness opens the door to joy, peace, and freedom. The more you open to spiritual help in your loneliness, the more you are able to embrace the privilege of this sacred journey of evolving your soul. There is great joy in the journey, even when there is loneliness!

Over the past year, there has been another dramatic shift in the CRM Marketplace. On-Demand CRM solutions have gained significant market share in the SMB and Enterprise space.

There are many factors involved in this significant shift from the traditional software purchase and implementation to the On-Demand offerings from companies like Salesforce.com, Microsoft, and Siebel. For the larger enterprise user, there may be implementation fatigue, from the long, drawn-out and expensive projects from the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. For the small and mid-market business, the elimination of the traditional software purchase and the need for less internal resources and infrastructure is very attractive. The increased bandwidth and dependability of the “pipe” and increased speed have also contributed to the acceptance of the On-Demand CRM Solutions.

Advantages of On-Demand CRM

The initial hesitancy for On-Demand Solutions when they were introduced in the marketplace has been replaced with a general acceptance and understanding of the advantages of this type of solution. The advantages included:

Replacement of large Software Purchase with a monthly subscription charge – The On-Demand model is based on a monthly subscription charge per user. This allows a company to extend the software component cost of a CRM implementation over a period of time and eliminates the yearly support & maintenance fees of a traditional software product.

Flexible Pricing, Licensing, and Scalability – Some of the On-Demand vendors provide flexible pricing, allowing you to choose and pay for the functionality and services you need. You pay for the number of licenses you need with the flexibility of added users when necessary. The leading On-Demand CRM vendors have invested in significant infrastructure and have the ability to provide services to enterprise organizations.

Decrease in Hardware Requirements and Support – With a traditional CRM software implementation, you need to make sure you have the appropriate servers, workstations, operating systems, database, and network infrastructure to properly run and support your system. With an On-Demand solution, the costs and support are significantly reduced. As long as you have Internet access, you are able to use your CRM service.

Decrease in IT Support Staff – You need an IT Support Staff with various skills to maintain a CRM Software System. As noted above, as long as you have Internet access, you are able to access and use your On-Demand CRM system. Your IT support costs are reduced significantly.

Elimination of Costly Upgrade Charges – With a traditional CRM software solution, you can expect a major software upgrade every 12-18 months. Depending on your existing solution, the upgrade can be time consuming and expensive. The On-Demand Solutions provide the upgrades as part of your monthly service fee.

Remote Management – The beauty of an On-Demand solution is access from anywhere at anytime as long as you have Internet access. This allows the System Manager to remotely monitor and support the system.

Faster and Easier Deployment – On-Demand solutions eliminates the need to load software on any computer, allowing for faster and easier deployment. It allows the end-users to concentrate on the solution.

Good Solution for Distributed Offices – Distributed offices and users adds complexity to a typical CRM software solution. This is eliminated with an On-Demand solution, giving every office and every user access around the world to the same database.

General ease of use – On-Demand Solutions have been designed specifically for the Internet, providing general ease of use and navigation.

Availability of Good Mobile Solutions – With the improvement and reliability of wireless technology, you have access to excellent mobile solutions for On-Demand services using Blackberry® or Palm® Treo™.

Security and Backup Services – In order to provide a secure and reliable service offering, an On-Demand vendor has to provide the highest level of security and data back-up services. In some cases, you may find their service in these two areas superior to the security and back-up system in your own organization.

On-line Training – As part of the monthly service fee, some On-Demand vendors provide free on-line training. This can be a significant cost saving compared to the traditional classroom training.

Significant Third Party Add-ons and Web Services – As the On-Demand offerings continue to grow and gain acceptance by companies, significant third party add-on offerings have become available to meet various needs including integration, extended sales methodologies, and email fulfillment, to name a few.

Integration Capabilities – Some of the On-Demand Solutions are highly customizable and easily integrated to existing corporate backend systems.

Summary

It has take a few years for On-Demand CRM Solutions to find it’s place and acceptance in the marketplace. The improvement and reliability of the Internet, faster deployment, easier support, improvement in the functionality, and integration capabilities have fueled rapid growth.

No matter how self sufficient we may think we are, we all need help and all need to help others. Rather than a weakness, it is a sign of strength to ask for help and to receive help from others.
Every one of us has problems. It is hard to imagine what life would be like if there were no problems. As a matter of fact, it is hard to define exactly what a problem is. Here are a few problems I have experienced:

When I was 16, 1 went to a party and felt like I just did not fit in. I was shy, not at all sure of myself, and felt on edge the whole time. On the way home from the party, I told myself that I would not go to another party until my personality changed. I thought I needed a personality transplant (Personality transplants were not available at that time. Unfortunately, with the advances of drugs, temporary personality transplants are available. :)) )

At another time, much later in my life, I ran up a huge credit card balance over a period of a few years, during which I was fairly sure that I was being responsible about money.

A final example is that I have been plagued by serious episodes of depression during my adult life. During these times, I have felt hopeless, worthless, useless, anxious, ashamed, am unable to sleep well and unable to work well.

Some of us have medical problems, some of us have financial problems, some of us have relationship problems, some of us have parenting problems, some of us feel like we are wasting our lives in our jobs, some of us have mental and emotional problems, some of us think they don’t have any problems, some of us feel overwhelmed by life, some of us feel trapped in relationships, some of us drink to relieve our problems, some of us use illegal or prescription drugs to relieve our problems, some of us think that we should be able to solve our own problems, and finally, most of us think that asking for help is a sign of weakness.

After the horrendous events of September 11, 2001, we as a nation gathered together to help the victims. During this time of emergency, we felt more open to asking for help, and almost everyone felt good about helping. We humans are like that. We like to, and even feel a duty, to help one another when there is a threat or a perceived threat from the outside —like weather, or war or personal tragedy and loss.

After the immediacy of the threat has passed, our lives slowly return to normal, and so does our openness to asking for help. Our desire to help remains longer, but also ebbs as most of us believe that enough time has passed for those who were affected by the crisis to “get over it and get on with their lives.” Along with this thought, we return to the idea that we should handle our lives by ourselves and not burden others with our problems. After all, we are independent and proud of it.

The reality is that humans are never independent. We always need others in our lives. We are interdependent. We take turns relying on others and having them rely on us. There are times in each of our lives when we face problems or dilemmas. During these times, it is a mark of personal strength to ask for help, whether it be from a friend, a relative, or a professional. This request for help affirms ourselves as being worthy of help, and affirms the other of their ability to be there for us. “Help” is not about rescuing someone from their pains or other burdens. Help is about witnessing and valuing another’s struggles. Pain in life is inevitable. Life is difficult. But it is much, much more painful and difficult when we attempt to be totally self-sufficient and hold in all our worries, fears, feelings of shame and inadequacy.

People often ask me what good it serves to express what is going on in themselves deep down inside. Many of us have learned that no one has been really interested. It does no good and can be harmful to ourselves if we talk about very personal issues with people who do not value us. It does a world of good to share ourselves with those people who are open and receptive to whom we truly are.

My experience is that when I do not talk to others about painful stuff, I exaggerate negativity in my head. I blow things out of proportion. Minds are like that. They invent all kinds of demons that thrive in the darkness of our insides.

When exposed to the light of another’s caring attention, the demons wither.

Take some time to tell someone about your concerns. Take some time to listen to someone else’s.

Origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, might have actually originated in China. Papermaking was developed in China and some of the oldest surviving examples of folding paper models are from there.

However, Japan embraced origami and, in most peoples’ minds, the art is distinctly Japanese. In its traditional form, a square piece of paper is formed into an endless variety of shapes, using a small number of different folds. Cutting and pasting are not part of the traditional practice.

Besides China, other countries have also taken up paper folding. In Spain and France, starting in the 16th Century, documents, probably baptismal certificates, were folded into little birds, known as “Pajarita” in Spain and “Cocotte” in France.

Origami designs can be simple hats or airplanes, or can be complex structures such as animals or buildings, which can take quite a while to fold. Sometimes the more complex shapes are made of foil rather than paper, since the foil can be folded more times, while creating less bulk.

Standard origami paper is generally a 6” (15 cm) square. Standard folds are used to create bases, the most common of which are the kite, fish, bird and frog.

Once the base is shaped, other folds are added to create almost any shape.

One of the most famous Japanese origami shapes is the crane. The Japanese consider the crane auspicious. Legend has it that anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes will have their heart’s desire come true. The origami crane has since become a symbol of peace in Japan.

In the 1920’s and 30’s, Joseph Albers began to create spiral and curved shapes in his origami works. Later, Akira Yoshizawa inspired the modern revival of the art using even more intricate designs and introducing new techniques such as wet folding, so the origami paper holds its shape better.

To show off the versatility and originality that can be origami, every year for the past 30 years, the American Museum of Natural History in New York has erected a Christmas tree solely decorated with many different origami shapes such as crabs, lobsters, birds, turtles and dinosaurs. It’s truly amazing to behold!

There are many books on origami available for beginners to those with more skill. One of the best is “The Complete Book of Origami: Step-by-Step Instructions in over 1000 Diagrams with 37 Original Models”, by Robert Lang.

The first part of this book is an excellent introduction into the basic skills needed to do origami. Each model is designed to let you practice one skill several times. This book is a well know source of origami instructions.

You can also buy kits complete with illustrated instructions and the materials you need to get started.

It is truly amazing what can be created from a simple piece of paper. All but the youngest children can make these miniature works of art. It is a craft worth exploring.

Have you ever bought a product or service from the internet?

Yes? Me too. You’re not alone…

Some of the reasons why most people are shopping online are: they can buy anything at anytime because Internet shopping is available 24 hours, all the time.

You can shop from the convenience of your home. You can avoid traffic and crowding at the malls.

Online shopping is one of the best ways to locate hard-to-find items not available in your local stores.

Whatever you buy can be delivered by mail to your house.

Most online stores and companies provide excellent values and discount prices because they do not have to pay the overhead of owning a physical business that will cost them insurance, employee pay, taxes and more.

VeriSign, Inc. says that online sales recorded during the prime holidays shopping season was about $2.2 billion dollars.

According to a study by Forrester Research Company, by 2010, online sales will reach $331 billion dollars.

More consumers are shopping online today than a year ago. The range of products they buy are many: software, hardware, electronics, digital products, music, toys, e-books, books, programs, DVD, flowers, pets, jewelry, clothes, air tickets, insurance, cars, prescription drugs, comic books, games, gifts and more.

They are flocking to buy from online bookstores, software stores, online computer stores, target stores, pet stores, liquor stores, drug stores, music stores, furniture stores, fabric stores, the Disney store, outlet stores, surplus stores, discount stores, thrift stores, gift stores, candy stores, lingerie stores, sports stores, video stores, sex stores, department stores, game stores, clothing stores and others.

Be a smart and savvy online shopper. Shop wisely and safely.

Here are a few tips to help you do your online shopping safely.

(1) Shop at the websites of companies that you know and are popular offline.

If you’re not sure of the company, request their catalog or brochure first.

Be sure they have a physical address and phone, as well as an e-mail address. Call them and speak to a human being first.

Check with the yellow pages and the Better Business Bureaus to be sure the company is legitimate.

Read all the fine print and the refund policy before you place an order.

You may read about product reviews and what other shoppers have to say about a company at:
http://www.epinions.com, http://www.consumersearch.com, http://www.productopia.com, http://www.deja.com

Here are some internet shopping agents’ sites:
http://www.comparenet.com, http://vo.infospace.com, http://bottomdollar.com

To read about reviews on shopping stores, regarding ease of use, pricing, selection and service go to:
http://www.gomez.com, http://www.bizrate.com , http://www.ratingwonders.com

To read about web business frauds and get help to avoid being a victim, go to:
http://www.fraud.org , http://www.bbbonline.org , http://www.webassured.com

(2) Keep a record of all your purchases.

Most people are by nature disorganized and unable to keep records. Learn to keep records of all your online purchases. This will help you keep track of your spending and shopping.

Print all receipts or save them on your computer in a folder named “receipts”.

This will help you locate orders that you placed but were never delivered.

The more organized you are the less negative online shopping experience you’ll have.

(3) Keep all your important personal information safe.

Don’t give them to strangers who may call you over the phone or request them by e-mail.

Personal information includes: your address, e-mail address, phone number, social security number, drivers license, age, information about your family.

Don’t give them to any stranger and, also, teach your children not to do so.

(4) Keep your passwords private.

When creating a password, avoid using phone numbers, birth dates or social security numbers.

Be creative. Use a password that is not easy for others to guess, and yet not easy for you to forget.

Change your passwords often. Use phrases to help you remember them.

Don’t disclose passwords to anyone.

(5) Use a credit (but never debit) card to make your payment.

Be sure to keep all credit card payment receipts. Check your credit card account statements to be able to spot any unauthorized charges.

When you buy certain goods and services from some companies, sometimes they will keep billing you thereafter. So scrutinize your statements. If you see a charge you’re not sure of, call the billing merchant and check it out.

Keep your credit cards secure.

Avoid making a payment using your credit card on a public computer.

Report any lost credit cards immediately and have them cancelled. Don’t give anyone that you don’t know your credit card number.

(6) Read the return policy before placing an order.

Be sure that you read and understand the return policy and warranty.

(7) Read and understand the company’s privacy statement (or policy).

A privacy statement tells you how and why a business is collecting your information, and how that information may be used.
You may find the company’s privacy statement (or policy) at the very bottom of the home page or inside their “Terms & Conditions” or “Terms of Service” (TOS).

(8) Use a secure browser and server.

Be sure whatever browser you’re using complies with the industry’s security standards, such as secure sockets layer (SSL).

This security protocol scrambles or encrypts the personal information you send over the Internet to ensure your transaction is secured.

How do you know if the server is secure where you’re making a payment?

If a Web site is using secure technology, its Web address begins with https and a tiny locked padlock appears at the bottom right corner of the screen.

(9) Check out a few stores and compare prices before buying.
Look for hidden costs such as shipping and handling.

(10) Use Yahoo Search Engine for all your searches.

Yahoo continues to be, not only the largest online company, but also, the best Search Engine.

Unlike the other popular Search engine, which keeps companies in a sandbox for many months and refuses to give them rankings for many months, Yahoo is pro business and gives immediate rankings to companies and business.

Their search result is also excellent. That may be one reason why 60% of people online (including me) love Yahoo.

Also, they have the most reliable and the best hosting service in the world.

For these reasons, I strongly recommend you use Yahoo to do all your searches.

Happy and safe online shopping.

Warmly,

I-key Benney

Keyword analysis is a major part of search engine marketing. Choose the right key phrase, check the market and calculate the ROI in terms of time and money.

I am just trying to redefine “The Boston Matrix” in terms of keypharse analysis, hoping that it will help in your investments.

There are three steps to it,

1. Market

2. Competition

3. Conversion Ratio

Let me explain it one by one:-

Market:

Check different key phrases using suggestion tools like word tracker, inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
or www.espotting.com/popups/keywordgenbox.asp , it doesn’t have to be perfect as we are just looking for keyphrases with high search shares.Choose as many as possible with promising
market.Google’s Adword can also be used.

Competition:

Search in Google or yahoo and see how many sites are listed under respective key phrase search. For example when I search for ‘key phrase’ in google it says, - Results 1 - 10 of about 4,800,000 for ‘key phrase’- this gives the primary idea of the
competition. Take the first ten websites in SERP and check the following factors:-

1. Back Links (directly proportional to PR)

2. Saturation

3. Ranked Page’s onpage attributes like Title, keyword density e.t.c

Competition is directly proportional to Back Links, Saturation and onpage factors but I consider the back links more crucial as
achieving better saturation level along with onpage optimization is comparatively easier to obtain.

Conversion Ratio:

If 100 visits are made to your website from a key phrase, how many will get converted (sigup or buy). For example the key phrase ‘mortgage quote’ will have higher conversion ratio compared to
‘mortgage rate’ as the person searching for ‘mortgage quote’ is more likely to signup.

Create your own ‘Boston Matrix’ for keyphrase analysis.

Create the matrix in the following way:

Take a blank paper and pencil. Draw a square about 10cm X 10cm in size. Divide the square into four equal parts(cells). Each of these cells will denote a type of kephrase.

Take X-axis starting from the bottom left corner towards right. Take Y-axis starting from the bottom left corner towards top.

Name top two cells as C and D . Name bottom two cells as A and B. X-axis denotes Search Market. Y-axis denotes Competition.

Values on X-axis will be from high to low from left to right. Values on Y-axis will be from low to high from bottom to top.

Thats it - now you are ready to analyse !

C:

These key phrases require high investment of time and money but will deliver high in long run. Proper strategy and resources are required.

D:

ROI is very low, its better to avoid such keyphrases in the initial stage of business but at later stage some keyphrases do well without any investment due to the improved standard of the site.

A:

Low Competition but high market. It is with High ROI.Target such keyphrases as it generates the money to survive and invest on other cells of the matrix.

B:

You may choose not to invest at the initial stages of business as many of these keyphrases will automatically make it to top with time without any investment. After making few A’s and C’s, check the investment required for B.

Summary:

In the initial phase of your business invest on ‘A’s,later invest on ‘B’s and ‘C’s. I will advice not to invest on ‘D’s until it starts appearing in top ranks with time. In marketing we say that
retaining a customer is tougher than getting a customer. Similarly if making it to top ranks is tough, then tougher it is to retain the position. So do proper risk analysis at every stage of your online business.
