MP3 players are Hot! Playing music has come a long way since the transistor radio, portable tape and CD player days. Most players are no larger than a deck of cards. Eliminating the need to lug around tapes or CD’s, digital music players re-define convenience and portability.

Digital audio players provide crystal clear sound, from deepest lows to sharpest highs. But which player is right for you? Are you a serious audiophile who wants professional quality sound for your entire music collection? Would you be happy just playing your favorite tunes whenever you want, wherever you go? Or are you somewhere in between?

What’s the Best Music Player for You?

The two basic types of mp3 players, along with advantages and disadvantages, are:

  1. Solid-state flash memory players — about the size of a pack of gum, these players are reasonably priced and very reliable with no moving parts and no music skips. Flash memory capacity from 64MB to 1GB has a limit of about 20 to 300+ songs.
  2. Micro-drive audio players — a tiny internal hard drive, like the one in your computer has up to 60GB of memory. These players will hold thousands of songs, photos and other data. Vibration and shock can cause skips even with advanced anti-skip technology. The complexity of these players increases the price and puts more drain on the batteries.

Check these before choosing your mp3 player

  • Batteries - some players have built-in rechargeables that may or may not be replaceable. Other players use standard replaceable AAA’s. Some players require battery replacement or recharging after only 4-6 hours, while others will last 30-50 hours.
  • Headphones - personal music players come with small ear buds with sound quality from pretty good to marginal. They are convenient and comfortable, but your music will sound better with higher quality headphones.
  • Features - search, repeat, random or shuffle play-back, FM receiver, format compatibility, ability to feed songs through a home stereo, and direct recording capability are some features to consider.
  • Personal style - for occasional use and a limited playlist, an inexpensive flash player may be perfect. For a larger collection of songs and frequent use, a micro-drive player is probably your best choice.

Ringtones are all about personalisation and have proved to be a fashion statement. People may choose their own style and not care about what is popular but they keep themselves updated with the ring tone trend. Today with everyone wanting to have the latest in ringtones, the market has grown at a pace faster than expected.

Ringtone sales are on the rise and have even overtaken CD sales. Many artists are making money from ringtones, charging up to $4 for each ringtone. Ringtones sales have also overtaken legal Internet download services, such as Apple’s iTunes, which generates under $100 million a year worldwide.

Ringtones have appealed to people so much that they have now become a fashion statement. Sound quality is also improving day by day; latest handsets are supporting polyphonic ringtones and real tones, which are nothing but actual music clips.

The success of these ringtones has created a huge opportunity for mobile operators. It has been estimated that mobile downloads could account for 20-30% of music sales by 2006.

The speed with which the ringtone sales took off surprised just pretty much everyone. The reason behind the immense popularity of ringtones is the easy download process involved. You simply have to send a text message and the ringtone will be sent to you with charges automatically being added to your phone bill.

The popularity of ringtones among the young generation shows that kids care about music in a very definite way. They’re taking the song they like and using it as a way of displaying their identity. Now the question is whether the ringtones sales will continue growing at break-neck speed, or whether MP3-phones that offer consumers the ability to play full tracks will result in their end.

One thing we know for sure is that at the moment, an increasing number of people are using their mobile phones to download ringtones and are paying a pretty heavy price for them.

Through a combination of increased ringtone availibility and desire to personalise one’s mobile phone with one’s favourite ringtones, the growth in the mobile music arena has flourished.

There is currently a demand for musical ringtones, but it is believed that with new phones being able to play MP3-quality music, there will be no need for this market. iTunes and MP3 technology will prove to be far more efficient than purchasing ringtones. The user friendly format of iTunes and MP3 will be so appealing to customers that the market will see the demise of the ringtone industry. The iTunes phone ultimately gives consumers more choices and the power to personalise their phone on a daily basis without additional costs associated with ringtones. Finally, time will tell if ringtones will be singing so long or if two related digital music markets will emerge.

Sustainable technologies, those that walk gently on the earth, are gaining acceptance these days, prominent among them being the electric bike, a simple transportation alternative that is now viable, reliable and just plain fun.

An electric bike rider can travel along in whisper quiet serenity cruising with the wind, or against it, even while going uphill. Remember as a kid all the places you could go on a bike, and you were able to go and see places you never saw before even in your own neighborhood?

Since an electric bike can be ridden with or without power, they are also a great way to exercise at your own pace. More than anything, electric bikes are fun. Imagine the feeling of riding along at a respectable sight seeing pace, usually up to 20mph, where hills are no longer a strain and stopping for fuel is a thing of the past.

A built in solar panel on some ebikes aids in the charging
process as long as they are out in the sunshine. A good ebike should travel from 20 to 40 miles on a fully charged battery, depending of course, on terrain and the amount of assist. A 4 to 8 hour charge from a regular electrical plugin will fill the tank and have you ready to go again, or you can carry a second battery
for double the distance.

An electric bike is an exceptionally convenient form of transportation especially for commutes, errands around town or the neighborhood. Some ebikes can be quite sophisticated, but basically they are simple to maintain with very little to break down or go wrong. Although it won’t carry two kids and the
family dog it will, with the added side baskets, carry two big bags of groceries or whatever else you want to load. An electric bike can easily carry a child-seat or tow a child trailer. An electric bike can save you stress and time too by eliminating the aggravation of looking for a parking space or waiting for
the bus (and often is faster than the bus) and of course traffic problems can be easily avoided.

And, as for that exercise, you will actually look forward to getting on your ebike. You can do some straight pedaling if you feel the need for heavy breathing, or you can pace yourself with the adjustable motor assist. It will make you feel good without the ache. An electric bike can also be cheaper than a gym membership, car insurance, or car payments. Owning an electric
bike can enable the astute individual to use a car significantly less or eliminate it altogether.

Ebikes, if charged from your local friendly utility, still costs only pennies a day, and there is always the optional carry along or stay at home solar chargers that get their energy directly from the sun. Recharging is easy, just plug it in! All chargers with ebikes are smart chargers allowing you to recharge at
anytime and the unit will turn off automatically. You can recharge the battery at any discharge level. Built in LED’s on many ebikes measures and shows the discharge rate and power availability.

Recently established US law regards electric bicycles with fully functioning pedals, no more than 750 watts motor output and 20 mph top speed as “bicycles”, meaning that no operators license or mandatory insurance coverage is required. Ebikes entail a modest initial investment, anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand depending on options, but operating costs are equivalent to getting 500 miles per gallon or more with the fossil fuel machine.

Other than the built in onboard battery, ebikes look and feel like a regular bicycle. The drive mechanism can be located in the front or rear wheel hub, or sometimes as a friction drive on the rear tire (the least desireable configuration). The power, when activated by a switch on the handlebar (called power-on-demand), or in response to your pedaling (ped-elec), gives you an immediate, nearly silent push. When you release the switch (or stop pedaling), the motor coasts or “freewheels” like a regular bike. For most ebikes, standard bicycle hand brakes and gearing round out the controls.

Some interesting power control variations and new transmission designs are beginning to emerge which should increase overall ease and efficiency even more. The battery is something to take into consideration, however, particularly when buying new, by either getting a spare, or investing in the latest battery
technology which provides for extended power reserves.

Electric bikes come in many configurations and styles, and maintaining them is usually simple and straightforward, most servicing falling within the purview of a bicycle mechanic.

Every day, more and more electric powered vehicles, from e-skateboards to e-scooters and even e-motorcycles, are finding their way to market. Fuel price increases along with an emerging ecological and health consciousness, is fostering a new look at alternative forms of transportation. Soon, ever growing numbers of people will accept and even embrace ebikes as a necessary and
integral part of daily life. Furthermore, as society ages and just going to the store becomes a regular outing, tricycle ebikes will become a great assisted living tool enabling the elderly to travel back and forth with comfort and ease.

An electric bike is high-utility, low-impact transportation. Our choices have an impact on the future. An electric bike is healthy step in the right direction.

There are two major WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get) editors available for beginners. These are: Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver. So the question is which one is better?

This article is not intended to humiliate Dreamweaver or FrontPage editors. I just attempted to analyze both programs from different points, based on Internet research, experience of other users and my years of html coding experience.

To say honest I am not the fan both of them. In our production we regularly use AceHtmlPro but the fact is that many of our customers DO use either FrontPage or Dreamweaver and that’s the reason our employee have to be familiar with both. Writing the article I have talked to our stuff and did some research about both editors and I came up with the facts I’d like to share with you.

Pluses and minuses of MS FrontPage:

1. FrontPage as all Microsoft product has so many templates and ready to use solutions that you cannot admit it is easier for beginner to start using FrontPage to build his first website. You can create simple website personal or business with several clicks and all you will need to do next is to enter your text and pictures instead of used by FrontPage by default.

2. The good news is FrontPage html pages look exactly as they appear in MS Explorer and the bad news is that they look perfect ONLY in MS Explorer. However you may program FrontPage to get rid of nasty tags but I believe it requires some hand coding to adjust pages to Netscape or Opera. Another good news for FrontPage users: about 93% of all internet clients use MS Explorer 5 and higher.

3. As Microsoft application FrontPage is better with ASP pages, which are standard for Windows based hosting and windows based programming.

4. MS FrontPage perfectly interacts with other MS Office products. For example you can easily cut and paste some chart from MS Excel into FrontPage working area.

5. By default MS FrontPage uses table with the fixed width and sometimes it can be a problem to make it display tables with percentage width.

Pluses and minuses of Macromedia Dreamweaver:

1. You can build your own templates and use them to edit hundreds of pages of your website with one single click. Although Dreamweaver adds some comment tags to html file to distinguish editable and non-editable areas and I read in one forum that people experience some troubles applying template to more then 700 pages as they ran out of memory but I had never chance to test that.

2. Pages done with Dreamweaver usually have less trash in coding. They look almost perfect with Netscape, Opera and MS Explorer.

3. Dreamweaver doing amazing thing with SSI files and other server side include technology. Php code looks much nicer however with ASP scripts FrontPage still better.

4. Dreamweaver is much better interacts with other macromedia products.

5. Both editors in most cases display CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) correctly. But if you enter style attribute twice in Dreamweaver for it will definitely ruin your page and you will be able preview your page partly before this error. FrontPage however handles such mistakes easily.

There are many others pluses and minuses in both editors if I wrote about al of them I should probably start a book rather then single article, but those I have mention I heard most about.

My idea is that MS FrontPage is ideal for beginners as it provides so much help and templates, then you should move to Dreamweaver when you feel yourself more comfortable with the html code and finally, if you are serious about web design, you should reach the hand coding level as it still best way for coding pages. It gives you the freedom of using tags and styles, as you want them to use. Do not forget however validate you hand coding, or code generated with FrontPage or Dreamweaver. You will be surprised if you knew how many errors produced during coding starting from broken links to invalid tag attributes.

Tolerance is one of the virtues that can uphold peace in any place. Through one’s tolerance, many will benefit to upkeep a peaceful place. We must all learn to give way. Many masters have taught in their time that hate can never solve the problems of hatred. By love alone, hatred will be conquered.

A person who is in the process of cultivating the mind and the Way must first learn to tolerate things that may not seem right in his eyes. With patience to conquer and master tolerance, one will be qualified to show others the Way. If one is not able to conquer tolerance then he is unable to show others the right way with the right attitude and his cultivation cannot be successful.

How can one tolerate if one sees red like a volcanic eruption? Many people have questions with regard to tolerance. People often wonder that if a mountain may be moved with time why can’t the character of man especially leaders who are in the wrong and refused to change. Cultivation of the Way is not an easy thing. One must be able to tolerate as there are many hurdles ahead in the process of cultivation.

If man can see that all things are illusions, then the mind will be calm and pure. Since all these are illusions and void, then only peace should be seen. For when man is totally in the stage of emptiness, nothing in this world will really matter. If he were to realize that things are all impermanent, then it is not worth thinking too much of them. Man should then concentrate on cultivation of the Way which will enlighten him with Truth and wisdom. Those who realize the Truth will continue to cultivate until they have ended the cycle of reincarnation and returned to the ultimate and eternal peace in Heaven.

We have to tolerate all unpleasant things and love all with the right compassion. Be diligent in the search, be ready to seek and let the Truth guide on. In today’s society, many have claimed to be cultivating the Way, thinking that they will be much to gain but along the journey, there are thousands of demons and millions spiritual tests. Only the one who is fit and strong may survive these tests but the weak may go through if he is persistent or fail. It is Heaven’s advice that not only the Heavenly Beings wish to get into man’s heart, the evils are also making their attempts. In all events, one must continue to strive for the right course and strive hard in order to find the path. Only by hard work will fruits be borne.

As one searches one may fall back and all will be wasted. With tolerance one’s knowledge and wisdom will be widened and deepened. Cultivation may be in two parts. Firstly, attaining a stage of stillness, thereby the mind will be calm. When the mind is calm and pure, it will be at its best stage whereby realization is at its peak. By realizing the Truth, one will know the Path. Secondly, cultivation lies in the daily actions. We need not have to renounce but live as a layperson and practise with diligence and in the right manner. Practise it with virtues and pure mind.

All sorts of teaching and saying can be found in books. If man depends everything just on books, then his knowledge will be limited to whatever is written. He must make use of the teaching in words and combine them with his own realization. Books are but words and all words are but impermanent things. In one’s lifetime, one may not realize the Truth in the books and in the next life, one begins from the beginning again. It is not in books that man finds the Way. It is through realization that brings about the Path. Realization of the true-self, realization of Truth and realization of the Way; all these we must aim to achieve.

Do not wonder at the achievement of others but set the right goal to achieve. Nobody can eat or drink for us nor can they attain for us. If we do not aim to attain, no man can force us. The Way to the final destination may be shown, but we must do the hard work ourselves. Step by step, firmly as we go, sway not to either side but take the middle path for good. As the world is like a great burning furnace, at anytime, things will all be gulfed up. The fire is burning and will continue to do so until all things become ashes. Therefore, before we are burnt, hurry and take up the task and be on the way. Be merciful and do not only help yourself but others as well. Tolerate all unkind things and do not merely thank the above for wishes granted and curse Him for things not granted.

In the past, couples were more than likely to live in the same town, even the same house for much of their marriage. He usually stayed at the same job throughout and she coordinated their social schedule with a group of family and friends that seldom varied. Their priorities were security and predictability.

Now, as people change their jobs and their dwelling places almost as readily as kids outgrow their clothes, marriages must be based on far more than the old intimacy, which was largely dictated by sex role stereotypes.

The differences between the two unique individuals are the substance of their growing romance and intimacy. Like bread and jam, the magic happens when you put them together, yet neither one loses their special taste and texture.

When we met, Jim was super laid back, read and wrote poetry, loved dogs and hated his job as an investment banker. Judith was compulsive and controlled, loved to travel and was a successful psychologist of 10 years with a thriving private practice. She also felt cloistered, seldom getting out of her office into the larger world.

There were many, many differences between us that had to be discussed, navigated and resolved. Sometimes heated fights erupted—we can each be pretty flammable! And in the process we were each improved upon by the influence of the other. Jim was the delicious jam to Judith’s great homemade bread.

Now Jim is far more organized, professionally visionary and loves all the ways he gets to express himself through our work. Judith is much more easy going, loves to improvise on the radio and is dedicated to influencing people to rejoice in their differences. Together we get to be out in the world with new people all the time.

We have fertilized one another’s worlds by our differences—and that is what the new intimacy does. It creates a loving, romantic miracle between two previously separate individuals.

It truly is a miracle and it can be yours—whether with your lover, your children, your friends— anyone!

Judith Sherven and James Sniechowski share the secret of life-long romance. Be sure to get your copy of their Free 1 hour teleseminar “Keeping Romance Alive,” and find out how. Just go to ==>http://www.judithandjim.com
