The protection of web pages using a password
comes up earlier or later while developing your site. The most
secure way is to implement PHP, ASP or other advanced web
programming languages. In this tutorial you will find out how to
protect pages using Javascript, because you may need to have a
very simple protection, or your current hosting may not support
PHP.

The first example we are going to discuss is the color="blue">prompt() function. The function calls a
small box to appear, and unless you enter correct password, you
will not be able to view the page. The advantage is that you
can’t view the source code to find out the password without
turning Javascript off. The code is as follows:

Now let’s look at the code. When you enter the correct
password, a box appears saying that Access is Granted, and the
rest of the page is loaded. If the password is incorrect, you
are redirected to denied.php. I used a little trick with the
password here that can stop some unexperienced hackers ;)) the
FAKEPASS is not the actual password, even though you can make it
look like it. This is just a variable that is described in an
external file - “prompt.gif”. This is another trick - the
external Javascript file has an extension .gif , which is used
for images. The file however contains text, and the server will
correctly treat it like a text file, not an image. So the
content of prompt.gif is:

As you see, here our variable is substituted with the word
“the_real_password”, which is the actual password.

The second option in protecting a page with Javascript is much
prettier, and it actually allows you to have several login and
password accounts. The code is:

When you click “Login”, a yellow box appears where you can enter
the username and password. If the password and login are
correct, then after clicking Enter you will be redirected to
page members.php . All of this is stored in an external file
config.js . The content of config.js in my case is:

The username and password can be either dude1/pass1 or
dude2/pass2 .If you want to add more accounts, just copy and
modify the if statement. In each case, you will be redirected to
page members.php, and you can also change it easily in the code.

This was all i was going to cover. However, i have one more
extremely important notice: Don’t use it to protect important
information! All of the above can be bypassed VERY easily by
almost everyone, and you should use it if you don’t need any
super-secure protection. KZ Server

When you have lots of JavaScript functions and you plan to use
them on many web pages, it is always advisable to keep them in a
separate file, and then include that file on every page where
those functions are required. This way, you can better organize
them, you don’t have to copy/paste the code again and again
(imagine if it runs to 100 or more lines!!), and you’ll be
forced to write more generalized code for better integration and
scalability.

Besides, enclosing the common JavaScript routines in external
files keeps your web pages uncluttered and search engine spiders
and crawlers are able to reach the important content easily.
They don’t have to shuffle through tens of lines of scripts.

In the first edition [that appeared in my newsletter -
BYTESWORTH REACHOUT] of my article I had omitted the process of
creating the external JavaScript files, but when one of my
readers asked me how to do it, I had to re-write the article.

It’s very simple. Use any text editor of your liking (if you
hand-code your HTML, you can use the same editor that you use
for your HTML editing). Write the required code, and save the
file with .js (dot js) extension.

I’m going to give you a small example.

Suppose your JavaScript file is “myjfuncs.js”.

and it has a function to return the bigger number of the two
supplied as parameters (you can simply start with the function,
no need to write

So when we use one of its functions in a JavaScript:

In this way, we can use all the complex functions contained in
the myjfuncs.js file.

A common question about today’s Ecommerce software is, “Do I buy managed
shopping cart software or use free open source software?”
Surprisingly, there is a simple and logical answer and many of you will find
it’s a pretty standard answer to most things in life. You get what you pay
for!

Honestly, can free software really have;
a) Bug free stores and admin panels?
b) The most up to date upgrades constantly built into your store without you
doing anything?
c) Up to date search engine optimization?
d) Tech support from the company who created the software?…. and the list goes
on. It’s just not possible to have all these very important details built into
free shopping cart software, these functions and services quite simply need to
be paid for since most companies prefer not to work for free, especially the
good ones.

There are two general types of internet merchants, experienced merchants with
the ability to do light programming and install software to a server which they
may own, then there is the merchant who may have an online store or is just
starting and would have a standard internet knowledge. At first I thought, being
in the first category, that free software would be just perfect for me, make a
few changes to the code, upload it to my server and run a perfect online store
for a very low cost. Unfortunately I found that by the time I worked out the
code and many bugs, then had the server cost, the security certificate cost and
the ongoing enhancement errors, I could have run a managed and paid version for
a set monthly fee and focused my time on the actual business. I ended up backwards with
what I though would be a cheaper option.

It’s pretty clear that managed shopping cart softwares are becoming the choice for everyone these days. It’s problem free,
works out cheaper in the long run and you receive the most up to date ecommerce
information you need to succeed.
After all, can you see any free shopping carts ranked number 1 in the world?

Logo embroidery on headbands can feel a little bit overreacting at times. Logos were not used so much in the past years. But the trend is changing: logos are becoming more and more popular. You can see logo embroidery everywhere on clothes. Logos can be put on any garment to enrich your personal style. What’s more, logos are so different that you have the infinite opportunity to choose the one that suits you most. You can vary the colors, the size and the shape. You can do almost everything: from putting your firm or personal name on your headband to choosing from our over 10.000+ stock logo embroidery designs. T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, towels are perfect for attaching of logo embroidery designs.

There are of course unwritten rules for making logo embroidery. The first one is size: your logo embroidery shouldn’t be too large. It can neither be too small, because you logo inscription cannot be read. Logo embroideries should be done tastefully. If you comply with a leading color that is specific to the tonality of the garment or the headband, people would like the logo. The right color combination can help much in the appreciation of the logo embroidery.

Logo embroidery machines are machines that produce logos. They act as a kind of printer, but instead of ink, they use stitches to make the image. Logo machines stitch designs on the garment faster than hand stitching, so many people prefer them. Logo embroidery machines are run by both external and internal computers. Special programs are used to create different logo embroidery designs. Due to the specificity of the designs, common programs like Corel Draw cannot be used in logo embroidery. Logo embroidery images are digitized and then put as data into a computer, from which they are transferred on the cloth by stitching. If you don’t intend to buy a logo machine, you can always hire someone to stitch the logo embroidery on the garment. Logo designs differ in cost depending on the count of stitches used for producing them. When a design is intricate that means it has a greater number of stitches in it, so the cost is raised accordingly

1. Make two lists of Wood.

Each 500mm long

45mm wide

25mm thick.

The lists needs to be completely straight and even. Make sure they are witout twigs in the material.
These lists of wood may become one of your most important tools in your workshop.

2. Position the lists

Lay the lists opposite of the direction of the wood in your piece. One at each end. This will provide you with two reference points.

3. Measure

Take a couple of steps back and aim. The two lists should appear parallel, if they do then the piece is straight. Congratulations! This is what you want. Unfortunately that is not always the case - If it`s not straight move on to step 4.

4. Mark it

If the wood is not straight take a pencile and mark where the wood is elevated. Then scrubb down. An important note though, do not remvoe too much at a time. better to go slowly then to end up having the hole piece renderd useless due to beeing in a hurry.

5. Re-check

The last and most important step is to re-check. Repeat step 3-5 until you are completely satisfied.

When it is straight mark the side so you know that side is straight turn the piece and do the hole process on the other side.

Sodium Vapour Lamp consists of a discharge tube made from a heat
resistant glass, containing a small amount of metallic sodium,
neon gas and two electrodes, Neon gas is added to start the
discharge and to develop enough heat to vaporize the sodium.
Because of law pressure inside the tube, a sufficiently long
tube required to obtain more light. To reduce the overall
dimension of the lamp, this tube is generally bent into U-shape.

The light produced by this lamp is yellowish which is produced
at its optimum pressure of about 0.004mm of mercury. This
pressure is obtained at a temperature of about 280° C and so it
becomes necessary to maintain this temperature. For this purpose
the U-tube is enclosed in a double walled flask to prevent lose
of heat. The double walled flask is interchangeable and can be
fitted on to another U-tube. While replacing the inner U-tube
one must be very careful because if it is broken and sodium
comes in contact with moisture, it may result in fire.

All electric discharge lamps require a higher voltage at the
time of starting and low voltage during operation. Generally,
sodium vapour lamps are operated by a high leakage reactance
transformer. At starting a high voltage of about 450 volts is
applied across the lamp which is sufficient to start the
discharge. When the lamp is fully operative after 10 - 15
minutes, the voltage across it falls to about 150 volts. Because
of the high reactance of circuit, the power factor is low and
hence a p.f improvement capacitor is connected.

The efficiency of a low pressure sodium vapour lamp is very high
(about 40 - 50 lumens/watt) and it produces a light of
particular wavelength having yellow color. Sodium lamps are
mainly employed for street, high way and airfield lighting where
color distinction is not so necessary.

In other weeks, you have learned many ways to get in touch with your personal enchantment. In this article, I would like to share several personal stories of enchantment with you.

Kay’s happiest moments as a child were with a pencil and a sketchpad or watercolors. Her life as an adult has been very stressful: difficult teenage children, and a marriage that left much to be desired. One of her goals in treatment with me was to get back some of the joy she experienced as a child. She consciously practiced taking time for herself everyday, in order to draw.

Talking about her vacation to the Bahamas, which she went on recently, she said, “It was filled with the usual family bickering, but I’m proud of myself that every night, as the sun set, I was able to get out my sketch pad and draw. I didn’t allow my family to get in the way of this wonderful part of me that I’ve rediscovered. Even the first night after we got home, I got out my paints and put in some personal art time. I love being able to own my own talent, and realize that no one can interfere with it. I share everything else in my life, but my talent belongs to me alone. I love every moment of my “me” time.

Tess enjoyed making doll’s clothing as a child. The feel and the sight of the needle flying in and out of the cloth was very soothing to her. As a young adult, she had a boyfriend who at first seemed to be a perfect match with her. But soon his negativity got her down and made her feel unhappy. She found that she was not using her artistic talents anymore. She realized that she was trying to deny certain parts of herself in order to make the relationship work. But in spite of her efforts, it just wasn’t working. When Tess finally got the courage to suggest joint therapy to her boyfriend, he declined, and after much fighting he suggested that they split up. And they did break up.

Rather than feeling the depression that she expected, she found herself quickly able to return to many of her artistic areas of endeavors. She started to make handmade clothing and to work with other artists. Tess said it best when she commented, “I was able to tune into my younger self.” Interestingly enough, she soon found a mate much more suited to her in temperament, a man who appreciated her artistic as well as practical side.

Tess is a good example of someone who had to make a decision in terms of meeting her needs in a relationship. Freeing herself from a man who did not have enough regard for her to work on her relationship allowed her to once again actualize her own enchantment.

We can come to enchantment only as we spend more and more of our time doing what suits us, either in both our personal and professional lives. Sometimes this is hard, as we struggle with other issues such as whether we ‘deserve’ to do what feels good. Sometimes it is easy to build in more time that really works for us as we thrive and see that the better it feels, the better we are at living and ‘being’.

I can’t promise you which road you will travel to achieve more states of well-being, to feel more whole, to feel more filled with positive purpose, but I can promise you that it is definitely the road to travel! Come back next week for more examples of recognizing what works for us as I share more vignettes with you.

One of the latest services that is growing steadily is “email to phone”, whereby you can receive email messages by voice over the phone, or send voice messages as emails from any phone – cell phone, satellite phone or a regular land line.

When I first heard of this, I wondered, “Why would I want to listen to my email instead of reading it?” But I soon learned that there are a great many people who can stay in much better touch receiving email messages by phone. Here is a list of the top ten reasons I have complied to use an email to phone service:

Email to phone for busy people on the run

1. You can pick up a message any time, any where, even if you had not planned to. Have you ever had that eerie feeling there was an urgent email waiting for you? Now you can relieve your curiosity, deal with the email and feel 100% assured that landing the sand trap was not a result of email anxiety.

2. Receiving emails by phone is ideal for a busy person on the run. Between the meetings and the restaurant and the cab, a busy person does not always have the time to sit down in front of a computer. But he always has time for his cell phone (You might have noticed this in restaurants, theatre shows, etc.)

3. International travelers have a great use for email to phone services, as they cannot always foretell the availability of a computer or an Internet connection, nor how much time they might have between flights, meetings, etc. This way, they can keep monitoring all their urgent messages wherever they end up, and delayed flights will no longer mean delayed business.

Email to phone for constant access

4. There are some places where you just can’t plug into your computer (or would not want to). On a boat, for instance. With email to phone messaging, you can receive email while you relax on a boat, far from an Internet connection. And yes, it IS relaxing to know you don’t have to fret about a missed email that could bring down the company or cost you your job.

5. On a hunting or fishing trip, you might often find yourself with no Internet connection. And you certainly won’t have a computer with you (I hope!). But you might have cell phone access. And if one of your hunting buddies does drag along his PC from home, you can tell him to get an email to phone service instead.

6. Check in at the cottage, without lugging a computer around. Need I say more. It is indeed relaxing to know you don’t have to fret about a missed email that cost you your job. It is NOT relaxing to have to open your eyes to look at a computer monitor.

7. There are also many countries where Internet access is not reliable, even in parts of well-traveled countries. Who needs Internet for emails, when you can receive them by phone?

8. Indeed, even in your own country, there might be areas you frequent that are outside of the digital coverage area, where SMS and text messaging are unavailable, such as driving through deserts or mountains. Even with analog coverage or a regular phone line, you can keep monitoring your email.

Special monitoring email by phone

9. Some people need instant alerts, and have to be in touch even while in the lunch room or traveling between meetings. IT support people, who subscribe to a website monitoring service are a perfect example. If a company’s website goes down, the CEO won’t be pleased if 45 minutes later the IT manager says, “Sorry, I was out to lunch.”

10. Some people have the misfortune of having to communicate with high-tech show-offs like me who use email to communicate. For these unfortunate people who might otherwise be forced to adapt to 21st century technology, email to phone messaging rides to the rescue. “Hah! Now I can listen to email messages on my cell phone. And they thought they could force me to adopt modern technology. Hah! I sure fooled them!”

There you have it – my top ten reasons to use email to phone services. Amazing how new ideas can turn even a stone-aged telephone into a technological leap forward. Imagine what they’ll do with boulders next.

In the world today, if you don’t have a cell phone you’re out of touch. How do you pick the right phone, the right plan or the right company?
There are many factors to that should be taken into consideration.

If you have a large family, one of the many family plans could be the ticket. Some family plans share a pool of minutes. This can be a good

or bad thing depending on how good your family is at sharing. If you have teenagers who tend to talk quite a bit on the cell phones (and most do these days),

this may not be the best way to go although buying a separate plan for each teen could be very expensive. One idea is the “pay-as-you go” plan. These plans use

minutes from a pre-paid bank of a set duration. At least this way you have control over how much you spend each month. Another type of family plan lets family members
pay for their own calling, but if family members sign up, everybody gets a better price then if they had signed up individually. Some plans also give you a break on the price of the cell phones themselves. Be sure to check out these types of plans carefully.

If you are just shopping for yourself; carefully evaluate what you think your cell phones usage will be. If it’s just for emergencies or occasional use the afore mentioned pay-as-you go plans may be sufficient. You could also buy the cheapest plan available. Some are as low as $20 a month. Most people however, use their cellphones a lot and need many minutes. If this is the case, pay-as-you-go plans can get very expensive and it makes more sense to buy a plan that gives you several hundred minutes worth of time each month.

Another thing to consider is the options. Does the plan come with roaming, long-distance, text-messaging, etc. included? Are these extras important to you? If they are then be sure to total up the costs of each plan. Some include extras in the plan cost, some don’t. Don’t sign up for a plan only to find out that you have to pay additional costs for the features you want that another plan included free or for the same price.

Lastly, do the cell phones available for the plan come with the features you want or need. Cameras, games, two-way radio functions are just some of the many new functions being added to today’s phones.
