Title —– How Will Your Network Be Compromised? Complex
Hacking - Computer Compromise
——————————————————
Every time I attend a “Security Guru’s” meeting, I’m amazed by how
much time and effort is spent on discussing complex hacking and
computer compromise of computer networks and systems.

One person is going on about the latest “heap corruption”
vulnerability and another is discussing man-in-the-middle
techniques for compromising remote access systems. Most of these
vulnerabilities are very difficult to successfully exploit. Some
of them require specific host platforms, special tools, in-depth
knowledge of many programming languages, and a lot of luck.

I’m not saying there are not tons of vulnerabilities and
exploits like these, it’s just that they are not always easy to
take advantage of, and therefore, may not present themselves as
high risk events for most organizations.

It’s The Little Things The Will Get You Every Time
————————– During security assessments, there
are times when I am able to successfully exploit a “technical”
vulnerability to gain system or internal network access. For
instance; during a recent assessment, I identified a web
application server that appeared to be vulnerable to an IIS /
ASP vulnerability that would allow an attacker to dump all .ASP
code on the server. After some effort and a little C/C++ code, I
was able to take advantage of this exploit. After perusing
through the .ASP code on the server, I was able to gain
important information that resulted in the comprise of an
internal system.

However, the reality is it is the simple things that are the
biggest problem. Most times, internal network compromise is the
result of one or more of the following:

The installation of a web support application that has little to
no security features to begin with;

The installation of support software that has a well-known
default password for the admin account. And, the person
installing the software never bothers to change the password;

Improperly configured communications devices such as routers and
switches;

Important, and sometimes critical documents left on web servers.
Information that only internal or technical people should have
access to;

Poor password and authentication policy. Users using weak
passwords to access accounts, especially remote access devices
that are present on the Internet;

Test servers that the have been forgotten about and are still
present on the Internet;

Poor network border architecture For instance; installing a
firewall and forgetting that there are other network that need
to be protected or should be placed behind the firewall.

The above is just a handful of “Little Things” that get
overlooked and can result in the undoing of your networks
security measures.

As an example; Many organizations provide their internal and
external customers with a public FTP service. Most times, this
is done to allow people to easily post “non-critical” or public
information and share it with other associates.

Recently, I identified just such an FTP server. The server
allowed anonymous logons, however it contained sub-directories
that were secured. These secure directories were only accessible
by the people who owned the account. It was obvious to me that I
was not going to easily compromise these accounts. On the other
hand, sitting right in the anonymous “root” directory was a .zip
file that was rather large. I downloaded the file, which took
quite a while, unzipped it on my desktop, and guess what it
contained? It was a compressed file of the entire FTP server,
including the secure directories.

I would bore you with what I found within these directories. The
bottom line is, I should have never had access to the
information they contained.

Conclusion ———- The bottom line is this; it really is the
little things that will come back to haunt you when it comes to
computer security. No system should ever be rushed into
production. This is one of the most common causes for poorly
secured systems. The team in charge of implementing new
technology needs to be educated on how to securely deploy new
systems. And if you are installing support software from outside
vendors, make sure you thoroughly review their products security
features. Also, make sure they fully disclose any known bugs or
improperly functioning features.

Nominated for a single Emmy in its short three season stint, Wonder Woman - which premiered in 1976 - was the third attempt by the major networks to bring the popular comic book character to TV. Created as the result of a collaboration between the multi-talented William M. Marston and DC Comics publisher Maxwell Gaines, Wonder Woman made her world premiere in a 1941 comic book. The final product of Gaines’ request for a female comic book hero, Marston never lived to see his creation become a television star (he died prematurely from skin cancer in 1947), but his legacy lives on through the Wonder Woman franchise which continues to entertain worldwide audiences to this day…

Wonder Woman follows the exploits of the Amazonian princess, Diana, who leaves her Paradise Island home in order to bring justice to the world of men. Athletic and intelligent, Diana Prince (as she’s known to the outside world) also possesses special powers that are brought about when she whirls around to transform into Wonder Woman. Her magic belt gives her added strength, her metallic bracelets deflect bullets, and her tiara doubles as a boomerang… In addition, she’s aided by a magic golden lasso which forces her captives to tell the truth! Season 1 of Wonder Woman takes place during the era of World War II where the Allies enlist the help of the female superhero to defeat the Nazis, while Seasons 2 and 3 take place in modern day times (1977-1978)…

The Wonder Woman DVD features a number of exciting episodes including the series premiere “Wonder Woman Meets Baroness Von Gunther” in which Col. Steve Trevor - the same man who crash-landed on Wonder Woman’s home island, and thus prompted her to enter the world of men - is accused of sabotaging a series of missions under his command. Charged with treason and espionage, Trevor can only have his name cleared by Wonder Woman who uncovers a vast conspiracy by Nazi sympathizers… Other notable episodes from Season 1 include “The Pluto File” in which Wonder Woman must apprehend an Irish-born spy who steals an American-made machine that controls earthquakes, and “Formula 407″ in which Wonder Woman travels to Mexico in order to recover a secret formula stolen by the Nazis…

Below is a list of episodes included on the Wonder Woman (Season 1) DVD:

Episode 1 (Wonder Woman Meets Baroness Von Gunther) Air Date: 04-21-1976
Episode 2 (Fausta: The Nazi Wonder Woman) Air Date: 04-28-1976

The power of print + CSS So you’ve made yourself a cutting edge
web page. What next ? Well maybe you want your visitors to be
able to print pages in a certain style. Heavy graphical content
can be removed, background colour changed and navigation items
removed, infact anything to make a printer friendly version of
your page. All this can de done with CSS.

Printer friendly pages with CSS CSS can effectively be used to
create formated documents ready for print. This is quite a
simple process and all we have to do is create and attach a
second style sheet with the attributes required for our print
output. Therefore we have a stylesheet that controlls what you
see on the screen and a style sheet that controls what is
printer. Easy……

Markup changes So, we will have already attached an external
stylesheet in the head code of our document. It should look
something like this:

/>

The tag here has an attribute called media which can have
a variety of options such as screen or print. For a full
description of media types please view our glossary here.

Now, if we want to separate our media into two types - one for
the screen and one for print we must alter our code:

media="screen" /> media="print"/>

We have now defined a separate style sheet for both screen and
print.

The css sheets are now called screen.css and print.css. This
means when a web browser requests your web page screen.css kicks
in for your screen display. When a request is made for a print
preview or print the style is defined by print.css.

This is not an automatic process and we will have to write a new
style sheet called print.css that works in accordance with your
original html document.

In the next section we look at the CSS involved in setting up a
page for print output.

CSS Changes Lets now take a close look at the simple changes we
need to make in our stylesheet and how we can create an
individual print sheet.

Now is the time to define exactly what we want to achieve in our
print output. Maybe we want our website header and logo to be
appear on screen but be omitted on paper.

The easiest way to achieve this is create a class or id called
‘header’ and define a different style for screen.css and
print.css.

Lets have a look at how the code may look:

Your header id for screen.css may look like this:

#div header { font-family:arial; margin: 0px 0px 2px 2px;
font-size: large; font-weight: bold; background-colour: #000000;
border-colour: #ffffff 1px solid; }

Your header id for print.css may look like this:

#div header { font-family:arial; font-size: 20px; font-weight:
bold; }

The CSS code for screen.css defines font, margin, font size,
font weight, background colour and border colour.

The CSS code for print.css defines only the font, font size and
font weight. To save the visitor ink we have omitted the
background and border and reduces the font size.

If your site is heavy on animated banners or flash movies we can
apply a similar technique to allow the banners to be shown on
the screen only.

Typical markup for you advertisment movies could be like this:

CSS-Help<br />
T-Shirts, click here

Your screen.css stylesheet could contain all kinds of attributes
for the advertisment such as border colour, drop shadows and
position.

In your print.css stylesheet you would want to omit the
advertisement from printing so in you would place the following:

#div.ads { display:none; }

This CSS code will illiminate the advertisement from the print
output.

Hope this helps:

Your belief system is the driving force behind your behaviors and your results. If you can change your beliefs, you will change your behaviors. When you change your behaviors, you will change your results. Then, when you change your results, you will change your life.

It all starts with your belief system. Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23).

Many things can keep one from believing. But, I think the biggest factor that keeps one from believing is fear and doubt.

Fear and doubt is a common problem from which none of us is immune. They are acquired diseases because we weren’t born with them. They are very contagious and are passed around from one person to another. They impair your normal functioning and keep you from making positive and long lasting changes in your life. If you’re not careful, fear and doubt will cause you to make weak and irrational decisions that sell out your future for the sake of today. They will steal your peace, your joy, and your very life.

Fear is probably the dominant problem in one’s life. 90 percent of the chronic patients who see today’s physicians have one common symptom – fear.

Many different fears are common to us all to some degree, such as a fear of failure, fear of success, fear of losing one’s job, fear of poverty, fear of criticism, fear of illness, fear of rejection, fear of growing old, fear of being separated from loved ones, fear of death, and probably one of the most common fears of all - fear of inadequacy.

Then there are innumerable phobias such as a fear of the dark, fear of high places, fear of closed-in places, fear of insects, and so on.

But, fear is a part of life and a God-given emotion. We rightly fear many things that we should fear. In it’s right place, fear is a strong motivator and protecter.

Fear becomes a problem when it is irrational, such as fears that are imagined. 90 percent of the things we imagine through fear never happen. Much of the remaining 10 percent we often make happen ourselves. Like the person who has a fear of failure; he may get himself so anxious about failing, he will actually, somehow, make himself fail.

So, how do we overcome our fears?

~ The first step for resolving any problem is to admit you have the problem. Whatever fear you’re experiencing, admit it. It’s ok to feel fear but it’s not ok to let your fear control you. For those who will admit they have a disease called fear, they are more likely to break through it’s control over them.

~ Determine if your fears are imaginary. If so, acknowledge it and refuse to continue to dwell on those fearful thoughts. What the mind dwells on, it magnifies and attracts. It will eventually begin to actually believe that your fearful imaginations are real and act upon them.

~ If your fear is real, accept it and take whatever steps you can to change the circumstances that cause your fear. Keep in mind that courage isn’t the absence of fear, it’s the ability to press on dispite the presence of fear. Many times, the solution to any fear is simply - do the thing you fear. It’s amazing how action conquers fear! Try it.

~ If you are fearing a person, or the ‘unknown,’ the best thing to do is simply trust God. There is no greater way to overcome these kinds of fears. The Bible says, “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe” (Proverbs 29:25). Trust your circumstances to God every day. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast your care on Him for He cares for you.”

Remember, your belief system is the driving force behind your behaviors and your results. If your beliefs are fear driven, they will impair your normal functioning and keep you from making positive and long lasting changes in your life.

If you conquer your fears and doubts, you will conquer failure.

Features And Functions Of Laptop Computers

Take a look at several laptop computers to see if their features and functions match your lifestyle and your needs. There are a plethora of laptop computers on the market today, so if you are in the market for one, you should take the time to do some pre-purchasing research. By doing such research on laptop computers, you will be guaranteed to make a wise decision.

Are Laptops Reasonably Priced?

The first thing that you need to consider is price. A laptop (or notebook) computer may cost about twice as much as a desktop computer of the same capabilities and features. There are basic computers, and then there are those full of extras, such as memory, graphic capabilities, etc. You will find a wide range of prices for laptops, so go online or to different computer stores to cost compare.

Features To Look For:

Wireless Internet Connection

Laptop computers are a great tool for people who need computers, but are always on the go. Wi-Fi, or wireless internet connections, are very important to such people. Many laptop computers come already equipped with Wi-Fi capabilities, which means you can use your laptop in special areas (library, coffee shop, book store) that offer Wi-Fi access. Other laptop computers have a unique space for you to insert a Wi-Fi card that you can purchase at most computer or cellular phone stores.

Speed And Memory

Some laptop computers are actually slower than their desktop counterparts. In general, the type of internet connection and memory space you have on your laptop is what will determine your speed. If a fast speed concerns you, you should use a wireless connection and purchase extra memory for your hard drive. Lower priced laptops usually come with a 20 to 40 GB hard drive, but you can purchase a laptop with an 80. You should also look for something with greater than 128 MB of memory so that you can run all of the current software and applications.

Portability

Most people who use laptop computers need them for their portability, ability to be carried from place to place. Laptop computers may weigh a lot, over eight pounds, so it is recommended to go to different stores to lift the different types, styles, and models from different manufacturers.

Struggle is a common expectation in our society. We tend to plan
for it, anticipate it, and invite it into our lives. It has
become so familiar that we often push away joy or peace or
harmony, declaring such experiences to be unreal or temporary or
frivolous.

Many folks tend to feel more alive when they are struggling
against something. Work groups and whole organizations are
established to compete — a form of struggle — against
something. War and violence are glamorized. War against war is
still war. Ill health is considered routine. Senility is the
prospect of advanced years. Suffering is considered noble.
Whether we struggle against struggle or resign ourselves to
struggle, we are in struggle.

And so Now, to You….

Let’s move from the collective “we” and the impersonal
“they/many” to you and your inner self and outer behavior.
Consider how you struggle. Knowing how you struggle will assist
you in replacing your pattern with different behavior. You may
also find it helpful to reflect on what you struggle against,
but I caution you about lingering there too long. It is too easy
to fall into the trap of explaining or blaming the “what”
against which you struggle. Your struggle is not about the other
person or thing; your struggle is about you.

So pick something real in your life that you struggle against,
just to give yourself a laboratory. It may be some little
annoyance, such as a spouse’s dirty socks on the floor or wet
lingerie in the shower stall. Or you may select something work
related, such as a co-worker’s competence or an assignment you
dread. For the purpose of this initial exercise, select an issue
that you classify as a small to medium concern. Practicing on
something real but not overwhelming will give you courage to
explore something you consider a major struggle.

Bring this idea or issue into your mind and feel the feelings.
You may find it helpful to close your eyes to stay focused on
the task. What does the struggle feel like? What sensations do
you feel in your body and where do you feel them? What emotions
do you feel and how do you feel them? Hear what you say about
this issue to yourself. What does the resistance/struggle sound
like? What color is the struggle? How big or small is the
struggle?

Identify all the reactions and signals and sensations and
feelings and emotions that you can. Try not to deny anything
that comes into your awareness as you read this. How does your
neck feel? Your shoulders? Your stomach? Do you feel agitated or
impatient? Are you fascinated by the sensations? Do you want to
do something else?

How you respond to these questions suggests how you respond to
struggle in other parts of your life. While you may want to
believe that this is just a hypothetical exercise, it is not. It
is a real exercise, one that can train your awareness and all
the muscles in your being to choose responses other than
struggle. It is helpful to know how you struggle if you wish to
change your pattern.

Goodbye; Graduation

Often when I talk to people about “holding on” and “letting go”
I experience their resistance. What variety! (And, yes, I
experience my own resistance, my own brand of struggle, which
helps me to speak with greater authority on the subject.) In
certain situations in our culture we celebrate goodbyes or
endings well.

Graduations are endings we tend to do well. Graduations are also
recognized as beginnings. Yet, so too, are all endings! That is
the point. When we say goodbye to something that we no longer
want or need or when we say goodbye to someone who is ready to
leave, a space opens for something or someone else. This is a
process, not a linear sequential set of cause and effect steps.
However, if you find it easier to perceive this process as
linear, do so.

So, are you ready to graduate from the School of Struggle? If
you choose to stay longer, you will continue to learn. That is
guaranteed. Keep in mind, though, that you are likely to learn
and re-learn and re-learn again the same lessons. Other schools
await your enrollment. The School of Joy. The School of Peace.
The School of Abundance. The School of Love. The School of
Health. The School of Laughter. The School of Enlightenment. The
School of Mastery.

Entrance exams are simple: Give up struggle for freedom, fear
for love, illness for health, pain for joy, hopelessness for
mastery, etc. Say goodbye to those experiences you have
completed or to those persons whose relationships with you have
ended. You will not be able to stay in The School of Joy if you
hold onto struggle — you will be expelled or asked to take a
leave of absence. Merely enrolling in The School of Love is not
enough, you must practice unconditional love and not cut classes
to get intimate with fear. You can stay in these schools even
though you occasionally fail an exam or re-visit your old
school. The principals/principles of these schools are
infallible; the teachers, exacting and loving.

Goodbye Party

Our joyous goodbyes often prompt us to give a party, a
celebration. We do this on New Year’s Eve: to say “goodbye” to
the old year and “hello” to the new one. We do this for school
graduations: to celebrate the ending of education in one
institution and recognize the rite of passage to another
institution or the military or the “real world” as we are fond
of saying. We do this for retirements, sometimes accompanied by
the gold watch: to honor the work place contributions and
welcome the retirement years.

So, why not create a Goodbye Party for Struggle? You may prefer
to have a Hello Freedom Party, instead. However, if you need to
say goodbye or thank something or someone who has been with you,
focusing on the goodbye or graduation party will be useful. You
will not be successful claiming “all is well” or “life is good”
while fierce anger or pain or unresolved issues are dominant in
you. Celebrate the passage.

If struggle has been your friend, give a going away party or a
hello freedom party to celebrate the release of this energy.
Thank struggle for being a teacher. Make the party your unique
event: buy balloons or not. Celebrate your party alone or with
friends. Let an object represent the struggle and release the
object to the trash or a fire or the great outdoors. Use rituals
that have meaning for you. Welcome in the new opportunity.

Goodbye, Struggle, goodbye.

Moonbeams

A delicate moonbeam, dancing high, atop the star filled sky,
filters down to crimson brook, where once we use to fly.
Where night flight dancing filled the air, a bustling brook of fun,
where hearty revelry and feasting time, was had by everyone.

We would dance the night, upon the flopper trees, majestic looking frame,

fly the night airs bristling winds, hard task to conquer and tame.
Spiral into the silent brook, to ride on the mermaids backs,
to swim through reed and lilac, and chase through rocky cracks.

We would race the lively glow-worm, like the jockeys of long ago,

picnic among the josiper plants, swaying to and fro.
Till morning dewdrops, filled the air, glistening in the light,

for now was the time of the giants, dare not venture into their sight.

But alas those times have gone now, no more can we be seen,
for prying eyes, and modern times, have marred the forest sheen.
Strange creatures rumble, ripping roots, trees tumble in their wake,

upon them ride the human folk, their homes they want to make.

So now we live below now, a dark and sombre land,
lost our wings, a flightless life, dark future is at hand.
We wait until the time returns, when we can roam the starry sky,

to bask upon the moonbeams, where all the fairy folk can fly.

A kiss with wings

The ones we love, don’t go away,
They walk side by side with us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, still very dear.
My father’s the one i so dearly miss,
An ache in my heart, at no parting kiss.
No special words i so wanted to say,
Just a numbing ache that wont go away.
My mind now roams, on sweet times gone by,
Long forgotten memories,a tear now in my eye.
My friends all huddled round you, stories being told,
You defeating the daleks, or finding the long lost gold.
The wink you use to give me, as i sat there by your side,
I,in awe of my father, heart so full of pride.
Now you roam the heavens, free of earthly pain,
Wings aspread, you’re flying now in the lords domain.
A kiss i send now, up to the sky so blue,
Catch it dad, tis a kiss with wings for you.

Scotland

och, tae walk again, through the winding hills;
wae the heather at ma feet.
jus tae wander roond the glens n lochs,
or tae climb auld arthurs seat.
tae lose maself in the heady scent,
o the heather swaying bright.
tae climb the wondrous mountains high,
n gaze doon at that awesome sight.
of ma home toons lights a twinkling,
like stars in a sea o brine.
am hame now wat a feeling, godbless this country o mine.
a country thats a part o me,

One of the most common questions computer users ask is, “How do I maintain my computer and keep it running great?” A computer is a lot like a car…it costs more than you think it should, it starts going down in value as soon as you bring it home and it requires regular maintenance to keep it running smoothly. Here are a few basic guidelines required to help keep your PC out of the shop:

•Always use a surge protector! Power surges, spikes, lightning and brown-outs are all things that can literally burn up your computer & its peripherals. Save yourself lots of money in repairs by buying a decent surge protector (AKA power strip) for your computer and use it. A UPS (uninterruptible power supply), though slightly more expensive, is even better. Also, realize that these power strips can only take so much…once they get hit with a large spike of voltage, they can lose their protective capabilities. If yours is over 3 years old, consider a replacement.

•Always use up-to-date virus protection! Everyone should know about this by now, but we often see computers with either no virus protection at all, or anti-virus software that’s badly out-of-date. Nothing can wreck your computer faster than a virus (except for maybe electricity, like we mentioned above), but with a small investment in good anti-virus software and making sure you set it to update itself daily, you can easily protect your computer and your critical data from being trashed. Norton & McAfee are the most popular brands, but there are others…some are even free for personal use. Here are some links you can visit for more information:

Norton Anti-virus -

•Be careful what you install on your computer! This is another thing many people overlook. Installing lots of programs on your computer is a lot like putting a bunch of rowdy children together on a playground…some of them may not play well together. A good rule of thumb is “if you don’t need, don’t install it”. This is especially true when you surf the web. You will likely get bombarded with pop-up ads trying to get you to install all kinds of free utilities they claim your computer can’t live without…most of these are spyware, adware and junk. These little programs can slow down your system, collect personal information without your permission and sometimes even cause your computer to crash. Rather than pay a technician to clean up your computer when it’s a mess, it’s a better idea to keep it clean from the start.

Just another day, doing as you always do with your computer. Making documents, working on your finances, updating your family’s website or conducting your home or online business.

Suddenly, strange errors start appearing, your computer makes loud scratching sounds and then, nothing.

A hard drive crash can mean much more than the loss of a part of your computer. Often this is the primary place for storage of your information, family photos, work related files, favorite mp3s and other things that have often taken months if not years to make.

The loss of an operating system like Windows is not as serious, you have the disk already, all your programs are on CD, but your personal information needs to be protected by you.

What steps need to be taken to make sure that such a loss does not occur?

The actual idea of data protection is not new, but still many people only face it’s reality when it’s too late.

The most essential basic steps are as follows:

  • Virus protection software
  • Personal firewall if you use the internet
  • Save personal files to CD or DVD

Virus protection and firewall software will protect you from attacks that can destroy software and your files. Saving files to another place makes sure there is a permanent record of all those things you need. The more frequent you save elsewhere the less you will lose in case of disaster.

All of the above protect you from loss of software due to some programming, but other things can cause data loss too.

The other things are hardware related, meaning that the actual place the files are stored is damaged or destroyed.

Some things that could cause hardware failure or loss are

  • Lightning strike
  • Theft
  • Hard drive failure

Lightning is very hard to protect from. The very fact that it is such a powerful force means that the most basic of lightning protectors could not protect from a direct strike. True protection for this costs a lot and is very often not preventable. If you live in a region with frequent strikes, take greater care in backing up frequently to a somewhere and perhaps even moving that informatino to another site.

Theft happens from time to time, once your computer is gone, there is not too much hope of getting it back.

Hard drive failures are when the drive itself fails due to some internal problems or any of the preceding physically harmful events.

All of these are quite horrible but what can be done to prevent it.

Backups have been and will continue to be the best way. If you have a copy of something in two places there is always another one if worst comes to worst.

Another option that is becoming more and more sensible and cost-effective is a RAID hard drive array. This basically means that two hard drives work together as a pair, mirroring the data, each being and exact copy of the other one. So if one fails, the other one takes over and the defective one can be replaced.

And finally, if you do face the loss of a hard drive, there are data recovery experts. For a fairly large fee they will open your hard drive and try to recover what was on it. Never attempt to open and fix yourself as the inside of the hard drive is a contaminent free space, with zero dust, even a few particles can make the drive unrepairable.

So make sure you’re not the next one to get an unpleasant surprise and make sure that you are well protected from the loss of your all important information.

My recent article did not flatter computer manufacturers nor will this one.

I’m a capitalist, and believe in free enterprise but I think the business philosophy of the printer manufacturers has been outrageous and certainly not consumer friendly. The cost of ink is horrendous.

To an extent their practices have back fired on them. They’ve created a bootleg industry that they now have to compete with.
The cost of OEM inkjet cartridges has sky-rocketed and the competitors have followed suit.

For example the price of a set of cartridges for a Lexmark Z51 Printer is $74.97 delivered from a leading online supplier. A set of refilled cartridges from eBay will cost $38.45.
Refills are notoriously unreliable, and some printers just don’t work well with other than OEM ink.

This is a problem for me as I do a lot of printing. Besides the usual run of the mill printing I often print manuals and instructions that I can read somewhere other than on my screen.

One solution is to buy a printer that uses ink tanks instead of cartridges. They are much cheaper. The reason for this is the print head is built into the machine, not into the cartridge, so they not only are less expensive but if you get in to refilling, which I don’t recommend, it’s easier to do.

Here’s the dilemma: There are two leading brands that use this system, and I’ve owned more than one of each, for some reason or other, that type of printer doesn’t stand up well. Not that any of them do.

I’m talking about affordable printers in the under $150.00 range. I don’t know about those five or six hundred dollar jobs.
For one thing the print heads frequently fail. You can’t replace them yourself and it’s too costly to have them repaired.

I just had one of the leading brands that cost $100.00 . It was replaced under warranty three times, the last time a week before my warranty expired. It’s less than three months old and it prints half a page and quits

My solution: I’m an inveterate shopper, visit my web site shopping guide: www.caveatemptorus.com.
I buy bargain printers. The last three cost $!6.00, $21.00 and $29.00 brand new. When the ink runs out I’ll throw them away.

Watch out for the ones with sample cartridges the ink doesn’t last long. I bought one without knowing it. The seller didn’t say,he did give the cartridge numbers, whch I shuld have chcked. So check before you buy.

Another thing I do is print in draft mode, and I have cut down on printing entirely.
