“Sex is dirty, we’ve no need for it,”

she said with glee, a shaking tit.

Poor Adam looked down to earth -

he couldn’t fathom a moralist’s mirth.

He wondered why she just couldn’t see -

Sex had created them and let them be.

At last, he looked up with a gleaming eye

And stared at her peaks without being shy.

“Sex isn’t dirty, though our minds might be,“

He answered with wisdom and a certainty,

“Nature commands that we must breed -

Bodies respond with an unbearable need.“

Eve was quiet, thinking what to say,

“You created this argument to have your way,

But I won’t let you sow your seed,

Your eyes are twinkling with cunning greed.“

Adam then thought of another ruse,

“Unsowed seed is man’s abuse

And if you don’t let me till your soil

I’ll provide you nothing with my toil.“

“Ok, then, you may sow your seed,“

Eve, in reply began to plead,

“But, promise you will always give

What I need as long as you live.“

Together, they went looking for priests,

“I’ll tie you both, don’t mate like beasts,“

said a priest they met along the way.

Adam didn’t know what to say.

The priest tied them and sent them along

Adam’s heart sank, Eve’s soared in song.

She knew that she had a slave for life,

Poor Adam realized he had a wife.

Adam knew that man must mate

And sow his seed past many a gate,

But Eve wouldn’t let that happen now

For she had tied him with a vow.

An Act of Prevention

The best way to protect your data is to prevent problems from happening. Data recovery usually isn’t necessary or at least not complicated at all if you properly back your system up religiously.

That said sometimes computers fail. There are usually warning signs involved before a system crashes. Some classic signs may include strange sounds, popping, frequent crashing, virus attacks or similar problems. Most of the time information lost through a temporary crash is salvageable. You will probably however have to hire a data recovery specialist if a crisis occurs to your computer.

Using Computers Safely

One way to prevent a computer crash and the subsequent need for data recovery is by taking good care of your workstation. Consider your computer not just a source of recreation or education but a lifeline to the outside world. People have increasingly become reliant on computers to handle just about everything, thus when a computer crashes a major crisis occurs.

Fortunately with regular or routine maintenance you may be able to avoid a crash altogether. This includes supplying updated virus protection software and ad ware software that removes potentially damaging programs from your computer. Then of course there is the obvious. You should keep your system away from liquids, food and overly hot conditions. You should clean your keyboard on occasion and make sure you plug your computer into a surge protected outline. You should also periodically free up disk space and clean your computer to make sure it is running optimally. These small steps can help reduce the risk you will lose data in an unexpected crash.

You take my words and turn them around
Make me confused
I lose my ground

You say you’re a man
Then let me be who I am
I do what I say
I refuse to fight another day
‘Cause baby I gotta be me

You think you’re strong
Always trying to prove me wrong
Make me take it back
Convincing me I’m on the wrong track

You say you’re a man
Then let me be who I am
This time, I mean what I say
I refuse to stay another day
‘Cause baby I gotta be me

Pretended to be sweet
Your heart became my retreat
Gave you my soul for free

You chose her and forgot me

Remember, you left me alone
I’ve changed and grown
Everything feels true
Living my life without you

You think you’re a man
Your shallow heart
Will always keep us apart
Baby, I’m loving me
Living happily free

However much we may distrust men’s sincerity, we always believe they speak to us more sincerely than to others. – Francois de La Rochefoucauld

These words- “Gotta be me,” came to me several years before I published them. Of course, they were born from personal experience, heartbreak and growth. When I found them, I was reminded that denial is part of the processes of life and love. This is a piece of what, I believe, Francois de La Rochefoucauld alludes to in his quote. In life and love, a subtle moment may occur, our eyes open and the illusion begins to dissipate. After the dissipation begins, we then have to accept that we know we’ve lost the sincerity and honesty of one we once believed so completely and our only option is to decide if we can live with this loss.

One issue at least, men and women agree: they both distrust women.
–H.L. Mencken

I must include this statement in my repartee, as I’ve always been “a guys girl” and I never want to give any impression that men are the only one’s who deceive. Some women are more talented at betrayal, but I don’t believe that all women are distrustful, either. Deceit and betrayal is a human sin. My words can adjust gender as necessary.

To detect key logger spyware, you need to know what it is and
how it works. Key logger is an invisible software program that
identity thieves can use to track your online activity.

It is almost impossible to detect key logger on your computer
and even if you’re careful you’ll never know if it is recording
information such as bank account passwords and credit card
numbers.

You won’t even see your machine slow down or see anything
unusual. It just silently watches every keystroke you type in as
if the identity thieves were standing over your shoulder.

At least on third of all online scams can now be traced to
keylogging. If you type key logger into any Internet search
engine you can find several perfectly legal ways to buy and
install it.

Several businesses use key logger software to monitor employee
activity and parents can use keylogging to check up on the web
sites their children are visiting. But in the hands of a hacker
wanting to steal your financial information, key loggers are
extremely dangerous.

Attackers who use key logger spyware often sell the information
to third parties who can funnel money out of bank accounts or
charge up credit cards. Hackers who use keylogging to get into
one computer at a company have the ability to steal vital
information from the entire organization.

The best rule of thumb is to carefully monitor what you download
on your computer and what sites you visit. The major sites of
banks and retailers are usually relatively safe. But be aware of
downloading free software from an unfamiliar site that could
leave you vulnerable to a potential hacker.

Here are a few tips to protect you against keylogging:

* Never open spam e-mail. * Do not open e-mail attachments from
someone you don’t know. * Do not click ok on pop-up windows
without reading them first. * Use a firewall to help prevent any
unauthorized computer activity. * Run a weekly, full system
anti-virus computer scan.

Computer experts say the number of keylogging crimes is on the
rise but there are ways to protect yourself . Detecting key
logger spyware and destroying it can be done by installing
spyware protection software.

Becoming aware of the different ways that you can avoid this
from happening to you is the first step to protecting yourself.

You’d think that the term “battle ready sword” would be pretty much self explanatory wouldn’t you?

Unfortunately, many of the swords being described as “battle ready” are anything but. And to quote Adrian Ko from Sword Forum International, “a lot of these swords I wouldn’t want to take into battle even if they were strapped to a M-16. And even then I’d be worried!”

Don’t let that put you off though. You’ll find that there are actually some pretty good swords to be found in this broad category, IF you know what to look for.

The first thing you need to look for in a truly “functional” sword is the type of steel it is made from. To keep it simple, 99% of all real battle ready swords are made from properly heat treated high carbon steel.

Stainless steel swords are a big no no. Why? Well basically, stainless steel is great for making knives. But any stainless steel blade over 12” in length tends to become brittle, which is clearly not the kind of thing you want for a “battle ready sword.” So steer well away from sales pitches that describe “fully functional stainless steel blade”!

There really is no such thing…

The second thing to look out for is the swords handle, or more specifically the tang (the bit of metal which attaches the sword to the handle).

Most cheap “wall hanger” swords have what is known as a rat tail tang, in other words the tang is just a thin bit of metal welded to the sword blade. Rat tail tangs are a major cause of a sword breaking when swung through the air, and can be extremely dangerous, creating what sword enthusiasts refer to as a “helicopter”. (very scary stuff when this happens, trust me!)

What you should be looking for is a sword that has a “full tang”, in other words a tang that has been forged as part of the sword, not tacked on afterwards…

Finally, it’s also important to consider a swords overall weight and balance.

Contrary to popular belief, a heavy sword is NOT a good sword. Historically, nearly all swords weighed under 3lbs, and this was because to reach maximum speed and deliver the most powerful blow, they needed to be relatively light and well balanced. So swords over 3lbs should be viewed with a very cautious and suspicious eye.

Of course, it’s not always possible to see immediately in a swords description if it has all these essential characteristics. So if you see a sword being described as “battle ready” or functional, but aren’t sure if it really has all the above characteristics – either ASK the seller what kind of steel the sword is made from, how it has been heat treated, what kind of tang it has or how much it weighs, or look for another listing that does.

Otherwise, you’ll probably end up with a sword that snaps in half the first time you swing it really hard, or worse still, shatters into shards of steel when you try and hack up a cardboard box…

If you want to download free ringtones I assure you that you don’t have to go very far to do it. There are numerous websites on the internet advertising exactly this service. However after a little investigation I discovered this process what not quite as simple as it looked at first glance.

First of all apparently there are three different types of ringtones you can download; realtones, monophonic tone, and polyphonic tones. Maybe you are lucky enough to know what this means at first glance but I assure I do not. I decided to investigate and see what the site would tell me to gd when I picked a song. I did so and then had to indicate which country I was from as the process is apparently different depending on where you live. After that I received a message that said “After you complete the transaction, you will receive and SMS. Just go to the specified WAP address and you can download the item straight to your phone. Please make sure your phone is WAP enabled”. Now this message makes I sound like this is a simple process however as I do not know what an SMS is or a WAP address is, I was slightly confused, and all this to download free ringtones.

Now I did a little looking around and it seems as though WAP is a browser on your phone where you can type in web addresses and ringtone codes given you have the WAP code for downloading the free ringtones.

This all seems a little like Greek tome and I find it amazing that an entire language has developed revolving around ringtones. You expect it for computers do to the complexity of them and their importance in everyday life, but for ringtones? They are really so important to the functioning of society that people have spent lord only knows how much time developing and entire system so people can make their phones ring with whatever song they want.

Nelson Widrow has written numerous articles about many topics including TV ringtones and download free ringtones.

There are many ways to listen for important information that you
can use in the future. Because most people own mobile phones,
and because they are on the rise as a primary phone, it can be
worth your while to learn to be a mobile phone spy. Private
investigators and bounty hunters can use the techniques of a
mobile phone spy in order to learn information for their clients
and gather evidence. People can be quite unguarded while
speaking on a cell phone; it can be the perfect way to hone your
spying skills.

The effective mobile phone spy has the right equipment. Luckily,
it is usually easier to get the right spy equipment in the cell
phone department than it is in many other ways. Additionally,
cell phone spy equipment is often less expensive than other
equipment. If you are just getting your PI or bounty hunter
business off the ground, starting out with some good cell phone
bugging devices is a good way to start. It will help you get
your feet wet and prove to clients that you have good equipment.

Another thing needed is to ensure that you do not miss important
phone calls. For many a mobile phone spy, this ties right into
having the right equipment. There are two different cell phone
bugs that call you when a phone call is made. The Spy Matrix
Cell Phone will give you a rig whenever a call is made, allowing
you to listen in on the conversation without constantly checking
to see if a call is being made. Likewise, basic cell phone bugs
that share with the home phone can also call you whenever the
phone line becomes active. This allows you to do more than one
thing while waiting for the call.

Finally, the effective mobile phone spy has a means of recording
the conversations she or he hears. This can be recording
equipment attached to your end of the device, or it can be
transmitted to a recording assembly (if you are using a phone
that picks up signals near someone using a cell phone). It is
always good to have the conversations available as evidence when
you are a mobile phone spy.

Anti-Virus Software:

Install virus protection software. That means three things: having it on your computer in the first place, checking daily for new virus signature updates, and then actually scanning all the files on your computer periodically. Update your anti-virus software daily or weekly and schedule a regular scan. Make sure all family members know what to do if the home computer becomes infected.

Locate Anti-Virus Software - http://www.monitoring-software.net/

Install Firewall Software:

Firewalls act as a gatekeepers between your computer or network and the Internet. They are essential for those who keep their computers online through the popular DSL and cable modem connections, but they are also valuable for those who still dial in. Protect your computer from Internet intruders. Use firewalls. Firewalls are usually software product but can also be hardware solutions.

Passwords:

Choose passwords or Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) that are difficult for others to guess. Use both letters and numbers and a combination of lower- and upper-case letters if the passwords are case-sensitive. Use a different password for each of your Internet accounts.

Passwords should not be names, or words (from any language). Hackers who try to obtain passwords for accounts that don’t belong to them (called crackers) use large dictionaries filled with these kinds of passwords. In order to protect yourself against these people, simply don’t use common words!

Change these passwords frequently. Don’t keep your password where someone can see it. If it can possibly be avoided, don’t write it down at all. There are ways to create passwords that are both secure and easy to remember. Remember that your password unlocks your online identity. Don’t leave yourself logged in when your machine is unattended. Everything that is done with your account can and will be attributed to you. It’s best that you keep your password somewhat esoteric. Do not use the same password for different systems.

More on Passwords - http://www.password-software

Backups:

Back up your computer data on disks or CDs regularly. Retain the only copies of those files on removable media and store the media in a safe place. Use accessories such as rewriteable CD drives and zip disks for copies of your important files - they’re easy to use and relatively cheap.

Alert:

Be alert for fraudulent (sometimes called “phishing”) emails. They may appear to come from a reputable business or a trusted friend but are actually designed to trick you into downloading a virus to your computer or directing you to a Web site to disclose sensitive or personal information. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, educate all system users to be alert for phishing scams.

Practice Safe Computing:

Protect shared files and folders. Set the permissions on the share to “read-only.” This means that no one will be able to copy, delete, modify, or rename your files. Set-up login accounts and file permissions, so only authorised users can access the system. Unix and Windows NT/2000 have these security functions built in. If you run Windows 95/98/Me, you can buy products to provide this protection.

Configure the access restrictions to individual files or folders, so other users can only access the files you want them to. Understand and use the security features provided by your PC software, such as those included in many operating systems, browsers and word processing systems. The safest option is to set your computer to ignore Java and ActiveX programming languages. Otherwise set your browser to ask you each time it is about to run Java and ActiveX code.

Depending on what you know about the site, you will at least have the choice to run it, or not. If information privacy is imperative you should also consider using a file- or disk-encryption system on the sensitive files.

If I asked you the question: which part of your computer is the most fragile, what would you say? What if I asked: which part is most important to you?

Often, the answer to both of these questions is your Hard Drive.

Your hard drive is likely one the most important things you own. It contains work data, school data, emails, photos, music, movies, tax information, etc… Incidentally, the hard drive is also one of only two moving components in your computer (the other being your optical drive). The following is a list of important maintenance and monitoring techniques you can use to maximize the life of your hard drive and prevent data loss.

Hard drives are physically fragile – handle with care
Statistics show that 25% of lost data is due to a failure of a portable drive. (Source: 2001 Cost of Downtime Survey Results)
Contrary to its seemingly rugged appearance, your hard disk is a very delicate device that writes and reads data using microscopic magnetic particles. Any vibration, shock, and other careless operation may damage your drive and cause or contribute to the possibility of a failure. This is especially relevant for notebook users, as they are most at risk of drive failure due to physical damage, theft, and other causes beyond their control. That’s why we recommend regular backup of notebook hard drives, as often as possible.
Possible solutions include external USB or Firewire drives (although these are prone to the same risks), desktop synchronization, or backup at a data center through the web.

Hard drives write data in a non-linear way forcing it to become fragmented.

When files accumulate on your hard drive, they do not just get written in a linear fashion. A hard drive writes files in small pieces and scatters them over the surface. The fuller your hard drive becomes and the more files you save and delete the worse file fragmentation can be. Hard drive access times increase with fragmentation since your drive must work harder to find all the pieces of the files. The more fragmented your data is, the harder the actuator arm has to work to find each piece of a file.

A case in point:
Disk fragmentation is a common problem for users of Outlook Express and database software. Each time outlook saves new mail, it does so in a different physical location from the previous time. This results in extreme fragmentation, causing longer hard drive access times and forcing more strain on the heads. This strain can eventually lead to a head crash, and often that means a virtually unrecoverable drive. Finally, in the event of a total crash, a fragmented drive is much more difficult to recover then a healthy defragged drive.

Luckily, Windows makes it remarkably easy to defrag your hard drive, simply launch the Disk Defragmenter utility (Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools), choose which disk or partition you’d like to defragment and set it to work overnight or while you are not actively using your computer. Defragmentation will speed up your computer and ensure a longer life for your hard drive.

A very small power surge can fry a hard drive – use a UPS and turn off your computer when you can

Another little-known fact about the fragility of your hard drive is its susceptibility to electrical failure. An electrical failure can be caused by a power surge, lightening strikes, power brown-outs, incorrect wiring, a faulty or old power supply, and many other factors. If a power surge enters your computer, it may do an unpredictable amount of damage, including destroying your hard drive’s electronics or crashing the heads and possibly resulting in total data loss.

The best way to protect your computer from such dangers is to use a highly rated protected power bar or an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Although these devices won’t eliminate the chances of a crash, they will serve as effective protection in most cases. Also, you can minimize the danger of an electrical problem and reduce wear of your hard drive by turning off your computer or using power-save modes whenever possible. It’s a known fact that 100% of drives fail, the question is when will it happen and will you be prepared? Make sure to check out the knowledgebase section of our website for more detailed information on how electrical power affects your computer.

Be SMART, monitor the health of your drive to prevent unexpected crashes

All modern hard drives have a self-monitoring technology called SMART (Self Monitoring Analysis & Reporting Technology). What most people don’t realize is that the majority of hard drive failures do not have to be unexpected. Most failures occur as a result of long-term problems which can be predicted. By regularly monitoring disk health and performance, you can know about potential hard drive problems before you lose any of your data.

Several excellent utilities are available, including DiskView and Stellar SMART for standard IDE and SATA desktop drives. Also available are tools that monitor the health of SCSI drives and full RAID Array systems. Ariolic Software offers a great utility called ActiveSMART.

The only fool-proof way to prevent data loss is… Backup!
If you only take one of the suggestions here to heart, let it be this one: always back up your important data. After all the monitoring and all the prevention measures are in place, one fact still remains: all hard drives fail. Backing up regularly will ensure that you’re never caught without your critical data. For individuals, the simplest solutions include external portable hard drives, dvd’s, and online storage. For businesses, we recommend renting space at a secure data centre and implementing a disaster recovery plan, regardless of the size of your business.
I hope that the above techniques give you some idea of the importance of hard drive maintenance and provide some insights in how you can protect yourself from data loss.
